So this place is called "Wok & Roll express," and we decided to check it out. Walking in, the place felt really warm like the ac wasn't on. As we looked at the menu, we noticed it was a combination of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese food. Interesting. Oh and boba drinks. I'm a big fan of Pad Thai, so I wanted to try that and well, it was a completed let down. It wasn't that bad, but it looked and tasted more like Lo Mein to me. Not sure if the cook got confused or combined the two dishes, since they serve both Chinese and Thai food. My boyfriend ordered the General Tso chicken and well, it tasted like Orange chicken. I really think there's some confusion in the kitchen as to what the dishes really are. It was ok though, just not that much food and really big pieces of chicken. The eggrolls that came with it weren't bad, it had a pretty good crunch and flavor. He also ordered their Strawberry tea with popping boba and it was pretty tasty. Don't know if there were management changes but man they've been messing up on orders lately, or menu has changed. Portions used to be good size for the price, now the drive is not worth it. Today we ordered 3 different orders for some guys at work, some got things they didn't order, and some were missing food, some got fried rice when we asked for steamed, we didn't get our egg roll order( is not the first time it happens) we didn't get the chow Mien side we ordered, way smaller portions than usual. This was my first time at Skillman Wok, but it won't be my last. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately, and the staff was very friendly. When they found out, it was our first time there, they asked what kind of food we liked, so they could help make a recommendation. I chose their Szechuan sauce with their vegetable melody. That had squash, little corn, bell pepper, onions, mushrooms, and watercrest. It was very tasty and you can choose your level of spiciness. I also really appreciated all of the vegetables, since I don't eat meat but I still got full. They have a huge selection from Pho to chicken wings. So whatever you have a taste for you will probably find it here. they don't do traditional egg rolls. They do vegetable spring rolls, which was also good for me. Because I don't eat meat, but my husband was not as crazy about them because he likes meat in his spring rolls. He did enjoy his main entree, which was the pepper steak with veggies. The portion size are nice considering the affordable prices. I also got their milk tea and I got it with a boba, the milk tea itself was really good, but it was a little light on the boba. And the boba they put in, was mango flavor which I ate and it was good but it didn't really fit the type of milk tea I got. This place has really went downhill. Spent $76 on five plates which used to be way cheaper but we didn't mind because we love this place. However now that we have gotten home our food is burnt half of it is missing. We explain to the young man at the register that we don't live close by was he sure it was all there because I thought it looked short he assured me the entire order was there. We get home and two of our children's food is not there so we're missing food the other two children's food is burnt beyond able to eat if this app allows me I will add the pictures we took of the food won't be going back to the Crowley skillman walk again. read more

Yuck. I know that's not a 'professional' word or way to describe something, but it's the first word that came to my mind when I started to write this review. My food was hot and the portions were hefty, but there was ZERO flavor in my entree. Even the soy sauce I tried to smother it in had zero flavor. The fried rice had nothing in it but rice...no peas or egg or anything else. Just bland rice. The egg roll was inedible. Chewy, rubbery, super tough exterior and once again, no flavor. My saving grace was the friend pot stickers. Those were actually good, so it ended up being my dinner. The chop suey (usually one of my favs at other places) had so much cabbage, I couldn't wade through it to find the chicken. If I looked closely, I could see the cabbage, bean sprouts and carrots. I never did find the celery or water chestnuts. Not a great experience, but hey. I tried it once. Now I can honestly say I probably won't be a repeat customer. Customer Service was terrible. This man tried to dispute with me over a refund because they had already made the food. The Food was wrong anyway. Got home and had too much of certain items when all I asked for was a platter with 2 meats and another platter with one plus 2 appetizers. I feel as though he Racially profiled me and my gf because we weren't dressed up. To be honest whos making a to go order with a suit and tie on at 8 pm? He was very disrespectful and wouldn't even try to be civil with me. not sure of the dudes name but trust and believe I'm never eating here again. Proceeded to then say "if you broke don't come eat here" and "if you want to call the cops I'll be waiting right here" even though our card didn't decline and the situation wasn't that deep enough for me to call them. I called the restaurant as I was heading there someone answered the phone said hold on, 13 minutes later I arrive at the restaurant the phone is laying on the counter and I'm still on hold. I explain to the cook that I called ahead but I was put on hold and he started yelling at me and saying that he's busy and I'm gonna have to wait 30 minutes to get my food, as if they are the only Chinese restaurant in town. I eat there quite often the food is OK but it's not OK enough for me to be abused by the cook or and or owner. This is suppose to be combination fried rice but there is no other meat in the picture. I also asked for NO PEAS. I did an online order and put special instructions in the correct location. I've never had a problem with this place. I order here all the time. I recommended this place to a friend who was visiting and it made me look bad. I called the restaurant to try to rectify the situation. I ordered via delivery but I had to inquire about bringing it back. I'm my opinion they should have offered to remake the dish and re-deliver the order. My friend opted to keep the order but we were not pleased at all. Please in the future read the special instruction area and do your best to rectify the situation. What's the point of placing an order online and the instruction being disregarded. The meal is flavorful and seasoned as I expected, however I was disappointed that the dish was a majority onions and bamboo shoots with few chicken pieces. The portion for the price still great size. Ordered online tonight for delivery. 45 minutes later, still no food. Called and asked about it, was told that food was "out for delivery" and should be there soon. 15 minutes later still no food. Called again and asked where food was and was told that they were short handed, down a driver, and under new management that didn't speak English so couldn't come to the phone to talk to me, but food should be there any minute. Young lady told me she would contact the driver. I asked for a call back to tell how much longer it would be. I was never called back, and after another 20 minutes, the food was finally delivered. This place is great! I'm kind of a picky eater with high standards, and this is everything I would want in a Chinese restaurant. I grew up in a community with lots of Asian restaurants, and since moving to Texas it has been hard to find good Chinese food. No more! The food is cooked perfectly. I hate when restaurants use spaghetti noodles in their dishes, but Skillman Wok uses the good noodles for their lo mein. The meat was good quality and cooked perfectly. We have ordered from Skillman 3-4 times a month since they opened. I have always been satisfied until last night.... I ordered 46 bucks worth of food. The driver gave us 1 bag, basically half of our order. I called the store and was assured that the driver was on the way back with my missing bag.......45 minutes later she shows up with cold food, perfect because the food she originally brought was also cold by now. I went into the store the next day and was looking for a resolution.... I just wanted what i had paid for. I was told that they would comp one item for me and that was all they would do. Ordered on the app and specified no vegetables in combination rice for my son, and after I picked up my order and arrived home, I noticed it was full of vegetables. Since people tend to make mistakes, I figured it was no problem so long as they replaced it with the correct order, so I called them to advise that I'd be showing up for an exchange, and the manager chose this as an opportunity to argue over the phone about the accuracy of his app and how they never make mistakes. After about 5 minutes of this, he agreed to the swap and I headed back to the restaurant to make the exchange. Upon arriving, I sent my son out to make the exchange, but instead, the manager had him come out to the car with a tablet showing my order and continued to regard his app as full proof, disregarding what my email confirmation said. Once I realized this wasn't going to be a quick stop, I was then forced into going inside to argue the point that I just want the exchange, and that I don't care about the app or how strongly he feels about how accurate they claim to be. He then used this as an opportunity to make an example out of me to the customers who happen to be men, going to each one of them laughing, calling me a liar (seriously), and showing them the order on his trust tablet. I turned and said how insane this is, and other customers were astonished at how much of a scene he was making over this. I once again stated that I don't care to argue, asking if I can simply have my order corrected. He said he can have it replaced, but it was not their mistake, it was mine. I realized this was fruitless and there was no point to this, so said I just wanted my order corrected, and he smiled and walked to the back of the kitchen while speaking to his crew laughing and yelling, as the rest of them joined in berating me. Finally he showed up, holding a bag like a dead fish with a soiled carton, and handed it to me. I thanked him cordially as I had done on the phone, and he once again made it a point to pridefully state that my mistake had been corrected. I turned to him and said it was their mistake, and I hoped he had a nice day. He started laughing again, and as I walked out I could see him spitefully mocking me to the other customers in the restaurant... I would rate this a 3 due to the fact they forgot my mother in laws sweet in sour sauce which the entree consists of just chicken and sauce. I wasn't really impressed with menu and I ended up ordering the chicken lo mien. I felt the noodles were just to big for the dish. I probably won't end up going back. The service was great but the food still kind of missed the mark for me and I didn't feel like driving to my favorite spot on Berry. We popped in for lunch and the restaurant was clean.
