This sushi place is new in Lafayette. We decided to try it since the Grand Opening promoted $1.50/piece of sushi. We tried the Spiicy Tuna Roll which had a seared piece of tuna of tuna on the inside with the chopped spicy tuna and fish eggs (row) on the outside. We also tried the Dragon Roll that had salmon and cucumber on the inside with eel on the outside. They both were very average and I wouldn't seek them out normally. It was like eating King Sippers sushi. The miso soup was slightly bland and needed more salt or flavor (which is saying something since I eat a low sodium diet). If a friend wanted to meet me here for sushi, I wouldn't say no, but I wouldn't go here normally on my own. I think there are other, better options in the area. read more

What a hidden treasure! Do not miss out on your opportunity to have delicious sushi and tempura and teriyaki at great prices! Everything is very fresh and excellently prepared. And if you get a chance, definitely try the fruity sangria - it is perfect. The staff is attentive and friendly, the restaurant is clean, and you can't beat the location if you live anywhere in the Lafayette/Louisville/Erie area. we've come here at least once a week since it's opened and are obviously big fans. full disclosure, i don't eat meat (fish), but i love their vegetarian roll offerings and have ordered various other menu items. my husband and son, who do eat fish, love the sushi and are especially fond of the spider roll. the service and staff are very good and prices are great compared to other local sushi places. i couldn't be happier that Sushi Aji has moved into our neighborhood :) read more

Their eel (unagi) is outstanding and raises the flavor of any roll to exceptional, and their unagi sauce is thick and of a high quality.

I used to love Sushi Aji and previously agreed with the other reviews. They used to be simple, but fresh. In the past 6 months, I've ordered three times hoping each bad experience was a fluke, but have had bad fish in each order. Tonight I had several bad rolls, yellowtail was smelly and salmon was visibly filmy. I'm not sure what changed, but the attention to detail has certainly gone downhill and the freshness isn't there anymore. Disappointing for a previously good spot. read more

Don't let the strip center location fool you...this sushi is fantastic. I am a sashimi fan and can attest that the tuna and salmon are fresh and delicious! The spicy tuna roll is also a must. The prices here are reasonable as well. We no longer have to drive to Denver for good sushi! read more

We will be back for sure! My husband loves salmon nigiri and thought this was excellent and well priced. I love rolls and they had many choices and are willing to make special orders on request. Rolls were a bit higher priced than some places, but they also were fuller than most. The service was excellent - helpful, friendly, quick. I think we've found our new sushi fix spot. read more

My husband and I love Sushi Ahi, a go-to casual date night for us. They are exceptionally friendly and efficient. I am not a connoisseur of sushi, but as far as places I've visited in Colorado, this is definitely one of my favorites. They have a decent drink menu and always seem happy to see us. read more

Giving this place 4 stars for carry-out. Well made sushi and maki. Reasonably priced, but note that prices keep going up and their website doesn't reflect this. I was asked for $10 more than their website indicated when I arrived for pick up. Flavorful cuts of fish and creative maki rolls. Not as fresh as when it first opened though. For dine-in it would be more like a 3 star, but I believe this is a nice option for carry-out sushi in Lafayette. The employees / owners seem nice, polite, and the whole operation feels mostly bauthentic. Please update your prices to match what you plan to charge customers. read more

Pretty good sushi and tempura. I have no problem with the food; however, the kitchen is fairly slow. Our food came out one piece at a time. That would be fine for the appetizers, but my family ate half of their chicken tempura before my very large bento box came out. Our server was very nice, and the chef personally came out to apologize for the wait. The restaurant could use a redecoration, but it looked pretty good on the outside. This was our first time here. Loved it!! Cute little place with amazing food. The yellowtail jalapeño sashimi was excellent, a must try. The saki sangria was incredible! We had other rolls and the shrimp and vegetable tempura. The tempura is light and very tasty! We shared the salmon teriyaki Benton box and was very pleased!
