Lobster tempura roll and ahi tuna
Susan V.

What a fun surprise! We have never been and the food was delicious! The service was also exceptional. Super fresh and so many sushi and special roll options. I highly recommend. It's more casual and was a little cold which is the only reason for the 4 and not 5 stars. But still a wonderful experience and great food. I forgot to take a photo (but I will when we go back) of the gyoza. They were the best gyoza (dumplings) I have ever had. Which says a lot bc I eat Asian and dumplings weekly. My husband had the hot sake and said it was great. We both enjoyed your traditional miso soup as well. Pros: Super fresh sushi Great menu options Excellent service Cons (none) Just some notes: Smaller if you have a very large group it may be tough or you may have to split up Casual - not a con for me but if you are looking for a fancy night out this is not it Cold - lots of windows and it was a cold night Don't wait and check this place out!!! You won't be disappointed.

I was really hoping this intimate sushi spot would become a go-to place, but unfortunately these were the worst sushi rolls I have ever had. I was a little too ambitious and ordered us several rolls. Dynamite, Soho, Lafayette , Dragon, Black Dragon, and Alaska. It was the wrong night to be indulgent. The rolls were just bland. The Soho roll was probably the best one, but pretty much everything tasted the same. The rice was gummy and muted everything. The fish was cut with inconsistent thickness. The simple Alaska roll was sloppy in its proportions and the decadent, fried, dynamite roll's flavor were lost in the layers of batter and rice. It pains me to knock any place with earnest service and a clean, comfortable ambiance, but there is decent sushi in Colorado and this isn't it. Being land locked is no excuse. I will say the service was fast. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The dining area was nice enough for a date, but not stuffy so as to be off limits at the end of running errands. Plenty of people seemed to be enjoying their dining experience, so perhaps other things on the menu are delicious, but in my opinion, if you are craving specialty Sushi rolls, roll on past Sushi Ají.

It has been a while since we ventured out with the whole family for a meal but my sushi hankering decided last weekend would be IT! We've been to Aji Sushi several times but it's been at least 3 years. So happy to go back! 630p on a Saturday night, no wait. We were seated at the back near the bathrooms which is not my favorite but we were also out with two small children - always a gamble - so I understood. Overall we had a great meal. We started with Monkey Brains which, much to my 4.5 year old's relief, was NOT actually animal brains (it's avocado stuffed with crab/fish, fried crispy and topped with a tasty sauce). This was awesome! We ordered Yaki Udon (thick rice noodles in a tasty sauce with chicken and veggies) - a big hit with both kids and also made for most excellent day-after leftovers for mom & dad. Lastly, we ordered too much sushi. I need someone to develop some sort of mathematical equation to calculate "the right" amount of sushi. We never get it right and always over-order. I digress. As usual, nigiri is the benchmark by which we measure quality and Aji delivered! Salmon, tuna and eel - all so good! Tender, flavorful. Each roll we ordered was excellent too. Staff was friendly and so kind in accommodating various requests regarding the kiddos. It was a great night out! Looking forward to returning.

Always a nice meal. I love their Bento box but they also make good sushi. I highly recommend it. Middle of the road prices.

This place is OK. Main critique, the sushi rice was really dry. Other than that, everything was mediocre.

I ordered 3 items à la carte, and each exceeded expectations. The Escolar sushi ($7, they call it " very super white tuna") and the Yellowtail sushi (also $7), as well as the 8 pc Blue Crab California roll ($9, totally worth the extra $2 for real crab) were fresh and generously cut. They had a wide variety of options on the menu so whether someone like sushi or prefers cooked food, this is a place anyone can find something to eat. Open daily 11am to 9PM and worth the trip!

They have good selection of classic and special rolls and their sashimi cuts are always thick and fresh. Along with sushi, we enjoy the hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), the miso black cod and on occasion, the New York strip black rock grill. My kids love the calamari and all the items on the kids menu. We've never had a bad experience here over the years that we've been customers. We've also never had bad sushi, whether it's dine in or take out. They also make a great sushi party tray, which I order often. The space is smaller and the dining area is often packed, but it doesn't feel crowded. Maybe it was a rough day but our server was annoyed. They have a decent menu and their lunch specials are okay and reasonably priced. However the sushi was pretty mid. Each roll we ordered was wrapped in large amounts of rice with not a lot of fish. It's still quite expensive for what you get especially if you want unagi. Can't say we'll be back since we prefer Yonsei which is nearby but I can see why it's popular. This location does seem different than the one in Cherry Creek. The one in cherry creek seems like a higher quality selection of fish so possibly it's based on location.

The place looked Very clean and when a table did finish/left the staff wiped everything down and swept floor near by. He was amazing... very friendly- impressed with his cooking ability and his food was delicious. He had the ability to carry on a conversation not just chit chat - He even made a few suggestions and they added to the experience. If you like some zest in your food- ask him to add the Diablo sauce on the grill. Wife isn't big for spicy and even she enjoyed it. Diablo on the side is one thing (hot) on the grill when he does his magic it's entirely different. We will be back and definitely ask for Phil. Thank You for a wonderful experience!
