Sushi Ai was very busy at 7pm on a Friday. The check in was smooth with a QR code up front. The servers are speedy and polite, and kept up with the crowds. We both had the Nigiri Deluxe. The flavor and quality of the sushi seemed just OK. My wife and I both noticed, without biasing one another, that two of the four fish tasted somewhat fishy in a less than fresh way. It wasn't enough to complain or be concerned about, just a subtle quality note. Also, the rice was not packed into the sushi very tightly and fell apart when dipping. It wasn't my operator error because both my wife and I noticed, no matter how carefully we handled them. I do miss good sushi and poke from living near the West coast, and have probably been spoiled by past experience. We will probably be back (maybe for California rolls) just because of the convenience of the location and the fast/friendly service. read more

The old Quonset hut building seems a bit odd on the outside but the inside is fully renovated and modern with a very nice atmosphere. And oh the food! Just fantastic!! Decided to try something I always love, appetizer fried tempura, added teriyaki chicken (mild flavor, okay), new item was a definite recommendation. Sexy Lady and Hawaiian Girl go great together. One is semi sweet with Mango and the other slightly spicy with steak. Most importantly my husband and I enjoyed our affordable dinner, were impressed by the presentation and will go back again. It was my first time here so I'm not sure if our server was having an off day or if they were just overwhelmed by our party of 7, but he was definitely scattered. Admittedly, I am not a fan of sushi. This day was no exception, although I did try a piece of the California roll that came with my meal. Nope, still don't like sushi or seafood lol. My husband and I shared the General Tso bento box, vegetable lomein, crab Rangoon and gyoza. The appetizers were fantastic! The gyoza were so full of flavor and the sauce to dip them in was so good and the crab Rangoon was also excellent. The veggie lomein was delicious with lots of vegetables and the general Tso was really good. Plenty of food for two, even without the other stuff we ordered. New location in Eureka!! Yay for good sushi! The restaurant looks great, and the staff is helpful and attentive. We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated for Sunday lunch. The dinner "all you can eat" has two options: one where you truly can order all you can eat while you're there (you pay extra for any leftovers you have) or another option that includes one appetizer, 3 rolls (not the full menu of rolls, but still a lot of options), and 4 pieces of sushi (and you can take home leftovers with no extra charge). They also have a full menu with other sushi rolls and non-sushi options. Everything was fresh and tasted great. We're excited to have this new addition to our town. read more

While they offer a nice menu, I prefer the all you can eat sushi and nigiri because it offers such a great value. Excellent appetizers and starters. I like the Miso soup that is served deliciously hot. The crab rangoon are nice and fat with a lot of stuffing. If you like spice, I recommend the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and nigiri with some surachi - yum! They also have sake, beers (Asahi - YES!!!) and some other choices. Excellent service too. Excellent authentic sushi! We finally got a chance to go to Sushi Ai and it was delicious. We ordered three roles (Alaska, spicy crazy crab & Hawaiian). All three were fantastic. We also got the veggie fried rice, edamame and chicken nuggets for the kids . Kids said they were the best chicken nuggets they'd ever had LOL. Everything was beautifully prepared. The service was also great. It was a Saturday during the evening rush, so of course there was a bit of a wait for a table, but once seated they were attentive and very friendly. I am saddened to give a one star review. My husband and I come here often and had amazing experiences until today. He found a hair rolled in his sushi halfway through the meal and politely brought it to staff's attention. We both did not finish our meals after that and requested the check. Instead of refunding his meal, they gave 15% off which was around 5 bucks. I did the all you can't eat sushi lunch and I would have paid for full (even what I didn't eat) but to not refund his meal (he did the lunch special) was upsetting. I go to the Eureka location. The staff are great and very helpful. It is nice when they remember you. The sushi/sashimi is great and they have very nice assortment on the menu. Also for the oddballs who don't like sushi they have a nice collection of Chinese they can order from. The best part is they make a custom roll.
