If you are looking for a doctor in Miami, look no further. Dr. Shaffer is without a doubt the best…read moregeneral doctor in all of Miami-Dade. I've been seeing her for three years and now that I'm leaving Miami, I'm kind of traumatized thinking about having to find a doctor as good as Dr. Shaffer again! Dr. Shaffer is associated with Baptist and you can communicate with her office using Baptist's online portal as well as see all of your exam summaries and lab results. She was covered under my United Healthcare Insurance, and luckily still in-network when I switched to Cigna. She shares the office with one or two other doctors who I believe are both "concierge doctors" so needless to say the office is beautiful and spotless. They can do EKGs and x-rays in office, as well as all of your blood work right then and there. I've seen her for everything from yearly physicals and strep throat to more complicated issues. She is so kind and intelligent. I have never once felt any bit uncomfortable or awkward when talking to her. Her office staff is wonderful too, particularly Courtney, and many times I've been able to get an appointment same day. Her office is located off of Lincoln Road, but there is a huge parking garage right next door with very reasonable rates. I think at most I have ever paid $8 and that was for a fairly long physical with labs, followed by a stop at Shake Shack across the street (because what else do you do after getting a physical?) As far as any negatives, the wait time can at times be a bit long, but since the service is so good I really don't mind. They're usually good about submitting prescription refills as well, I've only had to call them once or twice to follow-up on a refill. Her old assistant, Minerva I believe, used to be a bit scattered, but her new one Courtney is totally on top of everything.

Excellent first experience at Miami Beach Wellness Center located on the corner of 17th & Michigan…read moreAve on the 5th floor. I came to see one of the MDs in the group, Dr. Cindy Shaffer, a primary care physician affiliated with Baptist Health. I had pleasant interactions with the entire medical staff. Also, this office is enormous, modern and equipped with state of the art diagnostics like ultrasound, x-ray, and they even do EKG and lab testing in office which is a HUGE time saver. The phlebotomist drawing my labs did a great job. The only drawback is finding parking near lincoln rd. so give yourself extra time.

Disgraceful. I am a…read morelong-term pain patient. They made me wait all month for my appointment and for me to come in, which is physically difficult to do on its own, to tell me they won't accept me as a patient. Now, days before my prescription expires, I have to scramble back to my referring doctor to renew my prescription. All the nurse practitioner offered me is suboxone for when I will inevitably go through withdrawal due to their carelessness. My previous pain management doctor has been transitioning all of his opiate clients out of his practice and referred me specifically to Dr. Kamlet because this is his speciality. I assumed there would be little issue. It's a real slap in the face, on top of already having come in last month to receive ketamine treatment for my back-pain and being turned away due to their practice not using ketamine to treat back-pain, which I explicitly explained to the receptionist that I would come in for over the phone. Traversing the ever-changing field of medical care regarding opioid pain medication is hard enough and painful enough without falling victim to this kind of careless and abusive mismanagement.

Beware. Unethical practice. Tristar Wellness attempted to charge me without my prior knowledge or…read moreconsent for a yearly checkup visit that was 100% covered by my insurance. When I confronted them, their owner and CEO, Reanna Ramkhelawan argued vehemently that the charge was justified based on what I said to the nurse practitioner which she called the doctor. She said that the content of that discussion justified the cost of a separate visit. I didn't even ask to see that nurse and I waited an extra hour for her because they asked me to. Beware of the trickeries that this corporate owner without any health degree and driven by profit will pull on you to extract as much money as she can. I don't trust this unethical practice and will not come back.

I've been a patient of Dr. Canas for well over a decade. I'm appalled with what this practice has…read morebecomed. Since he merged with Care Resource this practice has become a boutique office. Hours are ridiculous, forget about getting a human on the phone and now they cancel appointments without telling you ( because his hours are focused on his Aesthetic practice). Dr. Canas should be reminded of what being an internist and true practitioner means. The decades of patients that have been loyal to him, placing him in the cushy place he is in now. You just do not discard people. Maybe you should seek for an Aesthetician license only and drop the internist label off your practice. I'm sadden, yet not surprised since this is where this country is in "medical care".

I really wanted to give this place a good review as its hard to find good doctors on South Beach,…read morebut I never got the chance. A friend who also lives on the beach highly recommended I call this place and make an appointment with Dr. Jarin, so I did. The woman that answered the phone asked if I had been there before and when I said I had not, she told me that they don't do appointments over the phone and that I would have to go to their website, fill out all their paperwork online and then THEY would call ME back. It came across pretty rude but I figured I would go that route and give them one more chance. So after i input all of my personal and insurance information, I get a confirmation message that said I would be contacted within one business day. Well, it's now a week later and I have yet to receive a call. I'm more than a bit perturbed that my information is floating around their website somewhere and I followed their instructions and have been completely ignored. Clearly they don't want or need my business so I'm happy to go elsewhere.
