Dr. P is an amazing doctor because of his knowledge, kindness, great sense of humor, and the best bedside manner around. I feel so lucky to have him as my cardiologist. I also wanted to give kudos to Enrique in the front office. He is always personable, efficient, and helpful with scheduling your next appointments. He also is good about answering questions and is patient with the patients. It's always nice to see him. I will be back in December for follow up.

I had a standing six-month follow-up appointment that had been scheduled well in advance. In the days leading up to my appointment, I received multiple text messages and emails reminding me to confirm and attend. At no point did anyone from the practice notify me that my cardiologist was no longer practicing at this location. After taking time out of my day and arriving for my appointment, I was casually informed that my cardiologist had left the practice, handed her new office information, and told she would not even be seeing patients there until September 1. This information should have been communicated to every affected patient long before they arrived for their scheduled appointments. To be clear, this review is not a criticism of my cardiologist. I do not believe it was her responsibility to notify every patient individually. That responsibility belongs to the practice that continued sending appointment confirmations while knowing the physician was no longer there. This demonstrates a serious breakdown in communication and a lack of respect for patients' time. Patients arrange work schedules, transportation, and in many cases fasting, medication adjustments, or caregiver assistance for these appointments. To allow someone to show up without any advance notice is simply unacceptable. I expect far better from a medical practice entrusted with patients' cardiovascular care. Until Miami International Cardiology Consultants improves its communication and administrative professionalism, prospective patients should be aware that they may not receive timely or accurate information regarding their appointments.

I came in with the phone ringing in my hands and walked up to the front desk asking why no one was answering... her response was they're short staffed. This is an issue especially for people with heart conditions. Please someone do something about the front desk. Phones are just ringing with no answer.

Not only was the diagnosis prepped with unnecessary tests when paperwork that was current was provided but the front desk is completely misaligned here as well. I've called numerous times at first to request paperwork sent to me after an unpleasant experience and they stated they'd send it and then never did. They then stated to come in person to pick up paper work and scheduled me a time to pick up, I did so, and the front desk had NO idea why I was there and said they'd have to wait for doctor approval. This was about 10 days later. Told me to wait an additional week and to call to follow up as it would be mailed. A week later passes by, by now just to obtain my paperwork its in excess of 30 days. a HIPPA violation i believe to withhold paperwork from a patient. Later i get a call from the doctor asking me why i want to discontinue treatment, which at that point was uncomfortable, and completely misaligned with my health concerns. He stated he'd mail the paper work and another week went by. nothing in the mailbox. I then had to call yet again to get paperwork mailed and drop the "hippa compliance" buzz word and finally paperwork was received the next day. Even after i stated to discontinue service i was still called about future appointments here. Overall, no one works together here. No one has any idea what's going on. Information is not shared, and people are aggressive on the phone with you when it concerns records. I quickly ran away here, it was not at all professional nor did i feel my health was a concern as a new patient. It felt like a typical scary place to me that wants to overload your insurance with checkups, followups and tests not needed. Parking also is not covered, and sadly this place just didn't have it together.

Another chaotic visit to this office, after driving 17 miles to get there and being on time. I…read moreended up just being left in the waiting room. The doctor had called me the night before due to a problem IO was having, and told me to come to the office the next morning at 9:30. I arrived on time and sat there until 10:30, watching people come in and go out. When I finally went to the window to ask MICHELLE what was going on, she just said the doctor wouldn't be in until 10:45. I told her Dr. Acosta had called me and told me to come in at 9:30. She said "he's not in today". She walked away not giving me any explanation or trying to rectify or reschedule the visit. She is a very uncaring, uncompassionate and disorganized clerk. I turned around and left. I have never heard from either doctor of anyone from that office since. This isn't the first time I have had scheduling problems with the front desk. It's about the third. I reported the matter to the office manager and all she did was make excuses and II have never heard from anyone since. I really like the doctor but the front desk staff, especially MICHELLE, leaves a lot to be desired for someone who deals with patients on a daily basis.
