It's funny to read another review here about a positive insurance experience, because I'm going through a nightmare with this office currently.
I was a patient here for five or six years, and never had any issues -- until about a year ago.
For some unfathomable reason, some inept person in these offices sent my labwork to a lab that doesn't accept my insurance. I received a bill for nearly $1,000 from this lab, and am now engrossed in a battle between the lab and my insurance company, fighting over who is going to pay. Part of this total was a deductible, but about $650 of it is simply because the labwork went to an out-of-network lab. I'm a 25-year-old and simply cannot afford it -- I'm being threatened with collection letters now.
I was also assured that my insurance would cover the costs -- my doctor literally spoke the words "yes, your insurance will cover this." It would have, if the offices had sent my labwork to the a lab in-network -- as they've been doing for YEARS.
I've been in contact with the offices and they seem to have no interest whatsoever in helping me with this matter, even though it is their fault entirely.
To top it off, I switched doctors because of this issue -- when my new doctor tried to contact their offices for some information, they claimed that they had "no record" of me in their system. That's funny, since I was a patient there for half a decade. My nurse practitioner has also since left the practice, so I can't even contact her directly for guidance.
I've recommended several friends to this practice in the past, one of whom recently told me that she underwent a similar ordeal -- the office sent her labwork to an out-of-network lab and she received an exorbitant bill.
The doctors and nurse practitioners here are great -- but clearly, the office staff is completely useless. read more
