She was the third endocrinologist that we have been to in 12 years. The moment we met her we knew we should've gone to see her years ago! Dr. Alfonso is warm, caring, and professional. She takes her time listening to everything you have to say or any questions that you have, and explains everything to you in ways that help you to understand. Very different than any other endocrinologist we had been to. She is the only doctor that my mother or I have ever been to who makes us feel so good but our lives and our health. My mother is 82 with type two diabetes, as well as other health issues, and we see many, many doctors quite often. This is the only doctor appointment that she actually looks forward to. As far as the office staff, they are the best we've ever dealt with. Period. All of your records/labs are available to you through the office portal. It is so easy to reach the doctor, because all we have to do is send a message to her inbox through the portal and she responds very quickly, even by phone if necessary or if you ask her to call you. Although the office is large and there are quite a few employees, we have yet to come across anyone who is anything other than friendly, helpful and professional. I wish all of the doctors that we see were like Dr. Alfonso and her staff; it would make seeing the doctor so much easier and more pleasant.

The doctor does not hand the lady that checks patients out anything when they're leaving, so it's up to the patient to remember the date of the next scheduled appointment, it's up to the patient to know about prescriptions, it's basically up to the patient to know everything because she will not get up and go ask the doctor anything. Then when I left a message saying maybe there should be some more communication with the back assistants and the checkout in the front, she called me back and was very rude. She asked me why I thought that. I explained to her with over 25 years in medical offices I know that the responsibility does not land on the patient nor on the doctor it always lands on the employees, like it or not. My question was about if they sent my prescription and where they sent it to, but apparently that question was too much for her to handle, and I had this lady being rude to me on the phone, giving me a huge attitude. And I pray that they record the phone calls and I want the doctor to listen to how she spoke to me. Also, the doctor giving me samples and I asked her about that too. And she replied well I was not in the room with him so how am I supposed to know? And I told her that simple you just get up and ask him, and apparently that was too much for her to handle as well. Basically, I was on a conference call with my insurance company, and him, trying to figure out why my claim kept getting rejected. The insurance company told him he was using the incorrect ID# since I had changed insurance companies and he was using the new one and not the old one. He didn't know I was on the line and said "patients are so DUMB, they don't tell you these things!" I was shocked! I told him I was on the line and I had called last month about the same issue and HE told me it was fine and not to worry about the bill and he was going to reprocess it. I told him he was the dumb one not me. I have been on top of this and all of my medical bills from day 1 of my pregnancy. After the issue was resolved between my insurance company and him, I asked to speak to his office manager, Barbara. He, of course, sent me to her VM where I left my information for her to call me back. This happened today. I have not heard back from her or anyone from the office. I am sure Mr. Warren Miller was very embarrassed. He did apologize to me by saying "sorry, I did not know you were on the line" but that is definitely not they way to go. As a patient, we don't fully understand everything to do with medical billing, that is why they are there to help us, we'd hope. Instead, they point fingers and blame it on you or the insurance company. I did my due diligence and contacted their billing department to make sure THEY get paid and this gets resolved. I had even called last month about this same issue and explained my situation to them. So sad to see that as a patient we do what we need to do and contact them for help and assistance and they turn around and call us dumb and offer no help at all. Mr. Warren Miller was rude from the start but I just brushed it off and assumed he was helping me as best he could. The truth was he was never even listening to what I had to say and pointed the finger at the insurance company. At the end, HE was the one using the wrong information to process the claim and now HE has to reprocess the paperwork. I am no longer a patient of this practice but I have been dealing with this since July 2015 (it is now almost November). You can have good doctors, but if your office workers treat your patients like this, they will not only be unhappy but they will leave and not recommend you to others.

Just the good old kind of doctors you don't find everyday. I actually went to them after researching online for a good OB/GYN in Miami when I became pregnant since my OB doesn't deliver. When I went to my first appointment I discovered I was pregnant with twins. So much joy and I have to say that the care I received throughout my pregnancy from the hands of these doctors was A+. They are pro natural deliveries which is what I was looking for, and in fact, I was able to deliver my twins naturally thanks to Dr Bitran, who believed in me and encouraged me to do so. I highly recommend this group if you are looking for a good OB/GYN.
