Been going to Dr. Susan since 2014. I see only her and one of the PA's who is very nice. I get my referral with in three day longest 5 days.to a specialist. Which is needed. She is very kind and has gone out of her way to care for my health needs. She extremely busy in this two new offices. So I do not like to wait on hold for 20 mins that's an issue. This place is a joke and a waste of your time. They are extremely difficult to deal with I have been going back and forth with the from office staff for nearly 2 weeks to get the medication THEY prescribed filled. EVERY time they prescribe me a prescription I have to get on the phone with them multiple times to actually GET the medication. They always mess something up. And I've reached out to both the insurance company and the pharmacy and both say the issue in on the dr. office side. I have reached out to Biegel's office atleast 6 times trying to get my medication. The office staff tells me they will leave a message with the provider (because Susan is NEVER EVER In Office. It's been Years and I've NEVER seen her). I had an appointment to discuss my bloodwork. They levels were too low they they upped my dosage. Meaning they prescribed me a new dosage of the same medication I've been taking for decades. BUT it's been 2 weeks since they prescribed it and the pharmacy says they sent the prescription but they have not approved something. I don't know that because I'm NOT a medical professional. BUT I am having to be the middle man between the pharmacy and Biegel's office becuase apparently the pharmacy has informed me that Beigel will not take phone calls directly from the pharmacy. Another inconvience of this office. At this point I should be on the damn payroll because I'm working harder than the Office staff. AS soon as I get a refill on this med I am switching doctors. It's been years if issues with Beigel. I've just been too lazy to do anything about it because I don't need the office often. FUNNY! While writing this review the pharmacy reached out to me to inform me they messaged the Dr. AGAIN to inform them they need to prescribe tablets because my insurance doesn't cover Capusles. I have NEVER had this medication in a capsule to begin with....it's ALWAYS been tablets. SO now again I will reach out to Beigel's office and be the middle man...doing their work for them. Should we take bets on how long until I get my hands on My Medication? P.S. I am now several days without the medication which I informed Dr. Beigel's office days before I ran out. BUT I have to get a blood draw in a week and a half to test my levels and see if the medication needs to be adjusted....BUT now the levels will NOT be accurate anyways. The referral coordinator (K) wont get on the phone with you even though the doctor says to talk to her, Her Staff just DOES NOT CARE. DR, BIEGEL , time to clean house again. I was hoping to be a new patient here. I called but wasn't able to speak to anyone because I was #17th person on hold, so I was given the option to receive a call back when suitable to them. I emailed the clinic using their online service to set up an appointment but never received a call. I called the office again a couple days later, in hopes to get through but still no luck. If I could give this practice negative stars I would. I have never had the pleasure of being actually seen by the actual Dr but rather the NP; some of which have the most atrocious bedside manner. If you come to this clinic beware you are nothing more than a copay they are seeking to charge. They will find every possible way to get you to come back for the most ridiculous reasons. Don't get me started on the lack of communication between the front desk and the back office. I have been waiting over a month for them to get a simple prior authorization for a damn refill of a medication I need. I ve called multiple times a week and they still can't seem to get it together. I used to see Dr. Biegel when I was younger and so I thought it'd be nice for my son to receive care from her now that he's an adult. Unfortunately, I will changing him to another doctor after speaking with a receptionist just a few moments ago. I am still in utter shock over how a call could go so badly when I did nothing to warrant the kind of responses I received. I had questions about my adult disabled son who was just seen back in February. The woman "helping" me was extremely unhelpful, rude, and horribly insulting. I was chastised for not calling them to verify a legal document was received when I sent it in back in April even though I requested confirmation at that time, and she indicated that the email was probably deleted since it's "been so long" now and that there was no way for her to check to see if the attached legal document was received and on file for him. She also was extremely irritated when I asked her why my son would need to be seen *every time* he needed a prescription refill for incontinent supplies which is every month. I mentioned that no other doctor he's seen before required him to be seen so frequently for such an item, and her response was a nasty "well, we aren't other doctors". Clearly. She was also clearly in a rush to hang up as I almost didn't get my 2nd question in, after I had waited for nearly 30 minutes on hold. I really am appalled over the lack of professionalism and courtesy that this person exhibited. I was stunned enough to wonder when the call ended if this really just happened or if I was being pranked somehow. Dr. Biegel, if you're reading this, I loved having you as my doctor when I was younger and was really hoping that my son would be your patient as well now that's he's of age, so it makes me sad that this phone call has soured me so much that I will now look for another doctor for him. Insurance changed so I had to find a new PCP and let me say, I'll be looking for a different one! I've never even seen Dr Biegel. Trying to make an appointment is very frustrating. I'll call 3 times, it immediately put you on hold. You'll be on hold 5 minutes and then be hung up on. The office staff have no sense of urgency or compassion. They all seem like they don't want to be there. They can never find the labs that are faxed over. Never get the call backs you are promised. You never meet Dr Biegel, but the PA's are really good and very nice. Most all of the staff is very nice. But I've had labs that were forgotten to be ordered, waiting for referrals to be sent out, never received, so I'll be stopping by. When you call the message encourages to use the portal it will be faster to connect, my messages have never been answered. Maybe the staff is just over worked, and not enough of them for all of the patients they have. read more

I've been treating with PA Shaher Altoumah for about 10 months and I truly appreciate his professionalism, but most importantly the time he takes to truly listen! They are so rude I haven't been feeling well and I tried to schedule an appointment and I called and the receptionist told me I would have to get my lab work done first so I went got it done and then I called to get any results and the nurse said I would have to schedule a phone appointment that they didn't do any in office visit so I said ok fine the day of my appointment they call me and said they couldn't do a phone visit because I would have to go in to the office and then I tried scheduling the appointment and they were trying to give me an appointment a month after I clearly told her I wasn't feeling well and needed to get checked and she didn't care I really don't recommend this place at all horrible staff read more

Had to change doctors. On paper this facility looked great. One bad experience after anothe. When you call in, average wait time is 10-15 minutes. Made appt in August for September physical. Advised wanted records in prior to physical, advised by staff "no problem" Called one month before appt, waited 20 minutes to speak with rep, then told, "No, request had not been sent" but don't worry, we'll request today to have prior to appt. Showed up for appt, NO RECORDS were requested. Advised that day, they would prioritize request and have records available for my follow up call with doctor on outcome of tests/physical. It's now 6 mos later and advised by staff still no records but not their fault. Unable to make appt for mammogram referral because NO RECORDS, Called office again (5x), waited on hold AGAIN and told not their responsibility to follow up with prior doctor. After making a fuss, lead medical assistant agreed to reach out again. I asked her repeatedly, you feel that no response from an office on records you need to complete exam is not a task for your office? She agreed to make request to "medical records person" to try again but that person doesn't tell her outcome, records come they come. So I had to push again to get her to agree to call me with an update in one week. 6 months after a physical and I still have no results. Lastly, just wondering, I have NEVER had a physical where the doctor does not check you/or touch you. His entire exam is based on the temperature taking/blood pressure and referrals? Maybe this is the way they do physicals now, but prior doctors brought out a stethescope to check my breathing, heart, checked my skin, eyes. So, since no records in after 6 months and referrals remain unscheduled because no images, I'm in the exact spot I was when I went in for the physical. I don't have any information on my health or i my illness has worsened. Let's see if I get a call back in a week or if I have to call for a 6x and wait 20 minutes to speak with a person. Change doctors again and start the process all over or stay with them and have nothing get done....these are my options I guess. read more

I never wanted to make this post but I have to now. I've been a patient of Dr. Biegel for almost 20 years. In those 20 years I have never met her once. I understand people get busy but she could at least meet her patients at least one time. Now, for the last couple of months I've been going through some health issues. I have to repeatedly call them to get tests done and when they're done I never get the results. Again, I understand they're busy but come on, no one wants to be left in the dark about their health. For the last month and a half I've been calling because I need a referral because I found a lump in my breast. Every time I call I'm told they're going to call me back. That never happens. I end up having to call them back and they tell me the same thing. They will call me back. Again, it never happens. I've been waiting for a referral for a mammogram for over a month and a half and I find it very disturbing that they feel they don't need to communicate with me. What woman wants to sit around with a lump in her breast for over a month and not know exactly what it is? So now my only option is to go to the office and try and speak with someone. At my age (51) I didn't want to change my doctor but now I may have to do that. read more

Front staff is AWFUL .... Google says it opens at 8 AM but they'll put you on hold at 8 AM and not answer the phone till nine and then they'll say that they don't open till nine.... I've called with issues multiple times and they refused to help without giving you attitude and treating you like everything is your fault even though you've done nothing wrong. Once you get past the awful front staff, the PA and MAs seem to do OK. It sucks for them because they do all the hard work and they're nice to patients, but the front office staff is awful by the time you actually see the doctor your pissed from dealing with the horrible front staff... First off, I would like to say this review concerns Dr. Biegel herself. Her staff was wonderful, kind and understanding. Karyn, the phlebotomist was amazing and has a wonderful spirit along with her smile. I was referred to this Doctor as she is a community care specialist who works hand in hand with the VA (Veteran's Affairs) to ensure that Veteran's get quicker treatment than what can be promised at a VA clinic due to time and location. I left this office feeling forgotten and unimportant as a United State Marine Corps Veteran due to her treatment. The first appointment, she didn't even bother seeing me and sent someone else. The second, I brought supporting documentation from the VA that I have mobility issues and am 100% disabled (this was a several year process with lots of doctor's appointments, x-rays, CT scans, MRI's ect). "I don't care" were her words. "It doesn't matter, she didn't write it in her notes" when I told her that the x-ray tech commented about my knees being swollen when she did the x-ray. I had asked her to sign a form that allows me to get a disabled veterans plate and on her way out the door, she mentioned how she would rather see on her own (ignoring everything that I was telling her and showing her, (I even pulled up the exact diagnosis from the VA)) and how she didn't know what the VA did to determine my disability. She then said "I would rather wait and sign this paperwork for someone who is actually disabled." Her staff (who she was incredibly rude to and downtalking the entire time) was stunned and apologized profusely and after years of mediocre/awful treatment in the Marine Corps, I can say that she is hands down the most unprofessional, terrible bedside mannered, heartless and unempathetic doctor, I have ever encountered. It made me feel like she immediately judged me based on how I looked and had absolutely no interest in my wellbeing. I understand that I do not look disabled, but I have done the proper process and my mobility is affected to the point that there are everyday things that I don't do. Some examples are (getting down on the floor to play with my children because I struggle getting up, avoiding family events because of the inevitable knee pain, and accepting being in constant pain as the norm). To be treated as a low-class human being because I don't use a cane or have grey hair was dehumanizing and shows the stigma that our younger veteran's face when we try to take care of ourselves and seek what we deserve after signing the dotted line with no questions asked. I've been a client since 2019. Im speaking on the past 3 years. Being seen by multiple doctors can be hard for some. You have to remember to explain everything each visit. There is zero consistency in care. I've had nice doctors and some doctors that couldn't care less. Had to reapply for my insurance so my care was paused. Upon it being active again regaining my appointments so I can be seen have been difficult. Calling the office is something you need to set aside time for. Definitely can't just call and it be a quick process. Once you are able to get an actual person you are met with, in my opinion, attitude and an overworked tired person. Someone who is busy and needs to get the call over with. These women can look something up one moment but then need 24 plus hours to look it up the next time. I understand customer service because I've had plenty of experience but this office needs a huge dose of it. This has happened every time I've called. Not once have I been met with Hi or how are you or thank you for calling. It's always Your name and date of birth for patient. Busy all the time, can't be seen in a timely manner. Kendra couldn't even look up if I was verified said it would take up to 24 hrs because they have others to verify "I'm not the only one, they have other patients waiting too". Not only that but they said "if we don't contact you by Wednesday give us a call." You don't feel taken care of, always feel rushed. I used to love this doctors office and it's changed so much. When making an appointment you won't be seen right away, plan on waiting at least two/three weeks to a month for an appointment. I'm no longer coming to this place because they have too many clients. Demand is high and I need an office that appreciates and cares. If I have to call back because you might not get to me then that sounds like time for me to find a new doctors office. Are 0 stars an option? First off, I try to avoid the office altogether and go to Urgent Care where I actually receive prompt and effective help. Most recently I was unable to so I called the Biegel's office yesterday morning explaining that I had injured a toe. The staff member (with zero medical training?) took notes regarding my condition. Rather than actually being seen by Biegel, I was issued a referral for an X-ray. Went to Centrelake and the X-ray could not be done because the referral stated it was the wrong foot. Had to wait to ensure that Biegel's office sent another but by then the X-ray techs had left. Went back today and was told the results would be available in the next few days. In the meantime, were my foot seriously injured, I'm expected to wait untreated until the X-rays are read? I called today to be actually seen and was told that for today and tomorrow, there are "no providers available." I can't speak in regard to Biegel's medical expertise as I have never seen her. In the community, she is known as the Boo Radley of Upland healthcare. I did see a PA once when there was actually an appointment available. I saw him but he never looked away from his computer to look at me. The office staff is mostly incompetent. Rarely something is actually handled satisfactorily. Sad. read more

Dr. Biegel has been my doctor for several years. She is a very doctor. Both herself and her staff have been there for me when I needed them. They do not like it when you get behind on your blood tests and follow-ups but that's because they care. There may be long waits on hold the phone, or you may get disconnected but they seem to have come through in the end. They saved me from 2 infections. I am truly grateful. read more

The worst medical clinic I have ever been too. They canceled our phone appointment last month on the same day, and we had an phone appointment at 11:15 am yesterday. After waiting by the phone for 45 min I called and waited another 15min until someone got to me. Her exact words were" A phone appointment isn't a guaranteed time, we would have to wait all day until 6:00 p.m". 6:00 came and went, and by 8:00 p.m I knew that we weren't going to an appointment. Why do you set up an appointment date, and time and do not honor it? It wasn't even my suggestion to have a phone appointment. If I had done that to the doctor by coming in late to an appointment, they would have canceled and charged me as well. They just don't think that their patients time is valuable. They are rude and very carcastic on the phone. Two days ago I called and the person on the line said rudely that I have something in front of my speaker, which I did not. I suggested that it might be all the noise in the background. The office noise was so loud that I was having difficulty hearing her. She shut that down real fast by telling me she was on headphones. She may very well be, but I could hear all of the noise in the background. Back to the drawing board to find a new doctor. By the way, I never even met Dr. Biegel. The nurse said that it might not happen for quite sometime. The whole point of going to this particular doctor was to see an Internal medicine doctor. If you never get to see her, than what is the point. She is just a name on the front of a building. Thank you for letting me vent. I have never left a review before. I've been to this Upland office twice and although they get the job done, the whole vibe is very cold and awkward. The nurses and assistants that work there seem very young, inexperienced, and nervous/ awkward. They don't have any kind of conversation, ask questions, or make you feel comfortable. Kind of a "here, now go" kind of feel to the place. I think more personality would make this place nicer to visit! read more

Been calling for a month and still can't seem to get an appointment. When talking to the receptionist they are never helpful. All they say is I'm so sorry and that's it. The first time I called the receptionist said she will need to verify my insurance but they will take two days, if I don't hear anything by then call back. I did just that and no one answered the phone. I was literally on hold for 1 hour which is insane. Called back again 2 weeks later and after being on hold for 35 minutes the receptionist said I need bloodwork to schedule an appointment. I was never told that previously now all of a sudden I need labwork. The doctor might be great but I will never know because I have never seen or have yet to meet her smh. This office has ZERO regard for telehealth appointments. The appointment can be scheduled for any specific time of the day and they will wait until the end of the day if they are busy. I was told that they prioritize patients in the office. I said I don't want to be a telehealth patient and they said for lab reviews and refills I had no choice. I just called my insurance and lodged a formal complaint. My time and my scheduled appointment is as important as anyone else's. They gave me the appointment time. If they can't honor what they say then schedule telehealth after hours. Wow, where do I begin? Once I was called into the exam room (I only waited a bit), I saw a couple of students; one gave me an EKG test, and one gave me a lung test. Then, in comes a blonde lady in scrubs; she came in to get something out of the exam room and did not introduce herself or say hello. When she left, I asked if she was the doctor and was told she was. Then, a PA (I believe) came in and proceeded to ask me a series of questions regarding my health issues and history. Because this was my first appointment, A LOT of information was given. But we were not alone. First, one student came in, then another (the same two who administered the tests), but they just walked in without knocking and sat at a computer approximately two feet from where I was sitting. I understand they were being trained. Then, someone came in who was teaching the students. Then in comes A GUY to help with something on the computer. Now, six people (including myself) are present while I am talking about my very private information. They are listening because there was a chuckle from one of my answers. The amusing part was that two of the regular medical assistants were asking me questions AT THE SAME TIME THE PA was. I was so confused, going back and forth. The PA was okay; I could tell she was a student. She scribbled my answers on several sheets of printer paper, no patient files. It was quick and rushed; however, I was grateful for the follow-up tests they recommended for care. The environment could have been more organized, leaving you to question the validity of the establishment. This review was hard for me, but I feel a responsibility to speak when it concerns health. When I was pregnant they made me wait a month to get an appointment and I could not wait that long as I was pregnant and and already father a long in my pregnancy. They said the doctor was not going to be in so why make an appointment and she not be in. So I had to find OBGYN thankfully they took me in right away. After my pregnancy I called to make a follow appointment because I had a csection and was dealing with back back pain and they made me wait more over a month to go in and now they call to cancel the appointment once more the doctor won't be in?? and they want me to wait another month OCT 23 so the doctor can see me that's like at least three months waiting to get in! I want to give a shout-out to staff member Genevie H. She gave EXCELLENT customer service to me today! I called this morning after two previous calls regarding pre-approval needed for diabetes medication. The pharmacy would not fill the drug without the pre-approval. I called the office and sent them a copy of the insurance verification request. Today, Genevie took the lead and handled my request personally. She was able to get authorization for one year. She also did even better than that and called me back to update me on the status as she said she would. I wish more customer service staff had given the care Miss Genevie gave me today.
