Pabellon Arepa, Plantains, and a Malt Pony Soda

Amazingly delicious Arepas without breaking the bank. Definitely will be my go to spot! The Pabellon was delicious and the selection of sauces enhanced the flavors with every bite.

Glad I picked the bowl. I saw the other items and they seemed a little small for the size and price but i didn't verify. Got the bowl and a balance of all. All the ingredients were good. Wish I could have had sauce on the size but still good. Came to the food truck at smorgasbord. Service was good. The atmosphere the same.

I'm generally a fan of Arepas, which are cornmeal disks filled to the brim with meats and veg. What's not to like? I went with their pabellon arepa, which was filled with shredded beef, plantains, black beans, cheese, and spicy green sauce. The meal was filling and hearty, but it just didn't hit the spot for me on this visit. My garlic plantains were too crispy (bordering on hard). Arepas are one of my favorite dishes as I love the thick cornmeal crust, but the texture of the cornmeal and meat was a little dry for my preferences. I'm glad that Sus Arepas has brought some representation of Venezuela to DTLA; however, I might need to try another arepa from here next time.

Went to smorgasburg for the first time today and found this gem! The Ktown arepas is really flavorful and the garlic yucca fries is super crunchy with a nice garlic flavor. I also enjoyed the spicy green sauce in the Reina. The order came out quickly and overall had a nice experience, will be back again!

been meaning to try this spot and i'm glad i did! i didn't know it was a korean/colombian fusion. the arepa is huge and soo filling! the meat is soft and slightly sweet, the maduros were perfect, and the beans were well seasoned and cooked. the yucca fries were crispy and fried well so it didn't have that starchy feeling. the sauces are delicious too. great service and calm interior.

Great food, great service. Finally a local place I can go to with great food! Highly recommend the yucca fries and the arepas!

Great taste and the loved the options. The staff was welcoming. Ambiance was great and the location was clean. I will definitely be coming back.

Tried the food truck in Venice. Service was super quick. Food wasn't mind blowing, but wasn't bad either. I tried the original arepa and the yucca fries. I'd recommend getting the spicy sauce on the side, my sauce was concentrated on the top, so the first few bites were very spicy, while the last few were quite bland. The texture of the arepa was perfect, however.

My 1st time having arepas! Had them during Holiday in the Park and waited about 40 min. to order and get the food, so beware of the wait time for future events. Also, they did accept cash and card payments when I was there. I got the Original and Rumbera arepas. The Original arepa was kind of plain without the chile sauce, and I liked the crispness & sweetness of the plantains. I enjoyed the Rumbera arepa a bit more; the pulled pork was tender and the Sriracha/mayo sauce added a nice kick.

The original arepa was filled to the brim. Sweet plantains, cheese, and black beans. Not sure if it's quite a $9 item but it was good overall. We've heard there are better arepas elsewhere but we're still looking. Service was fast. The atmosphere was busy.

We both got pabellon arepas and they were so good. We loved the flavors and we were so sad when we eat it all. Wish it was a $1 cheaper but it was so good

I was really excited to finally try an arepa, and suffice to say that I really liked them. They are definitely worth the wait at Smorgasburg! Note that as the day goes on, they will sell out of certain items. Original - Surprisingly delicious. The creaminess of the black bean, the sweetness from the plantains, the heat from that green salsa, and the crunch from the fried arepa bun made for a really complete and rounded bite. I liked it more than I thought I would. Rumberra - The pork was a little dry, but the spicy mayo and pickled onion helped it along. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

We waited patiently for about 10 minutes because we assumed he might be busy. Since he still didn't respond, we decided to just leave. What made the situation worse was that as soon as we stepped away, he immediately helped the person behind us. That felt very disrespectful, especially since we had been patient the whole time and were not rude at all. It's really disappointing because we actually love the tacos here. They're estilo Jalisco, which is where we're from, so we were excited to eat here. Unfortunately, the bad service alone was enough to ruin the experience. Very disappointing, and we won't be returning.

As mentioned by other Yelper(s), this taco trunk can be found parked in front of the LAC USC Medical Center building. In fact, I remember seeing more than 1 trucks available, but this white Buenos Tacos (easy to remember) truck is the only one that opens late and on the weekend. But please don't quote me on this. They offer tacos, quesadias, burritos, and tortas, but I am only interested in tacos usually. Regular tacos cost $1.25 each, while tacos de lengua cost $1.50 each. I recommend opting for regular ones, as you can get 4 for $5, no change, no mess. I am not even sure why lengua costs more, or if lengua actually tastes better. Shrug. I got cabeza and pastor to go. The cook was very speedy in cooking, and packed everything in foil for me to keep them warm. Limes was cut up and put in a separate bag for convenience. Both tasted very good! Now, if you cannot handle spicy, you may wanna let him know ahead of time, because after eating all 4, my eyes and nose were runny, and my oral cavity in general was burning. It's a delicious kinda burn, but I could do without it. I also enjoyed the toppings such as cilantro, onion, etc. Get everything on it. I didn't regret it at all for doing so! Specifically, cabeza was visibly more fatty but I liked it that way--it was super yummy. Pastor in comparison was drier, but still very well marinated. They tasted good enough, and were cheap enough, for me to come back and try for more. I'll update you guys if I ever buy their other options: azada, chorizo, pollo, and buche.
