Love me some Tokidoki! Had no idea they were doing this here until I walked in. A very pleasant surprise! Service was fast and friendly. The establishment was very clean. Loved the ambiance and music. Ice cream was great! This is actually my second time here. First time was just as good!
Tried this for the first time with a large group. The overall space is a little small but it was nice that day as we were the only customers there. The service was quick and the staff were all super helpful and nice with our larger group. I ordered the S'mores ice cream and cake jar. It was delicious! The cake was moist, the ice cream was creamy and the flavor was great and such a nice way to end the night.
Might be an ice cream for Instagram post - otherwise I think it's pretty overrated and pricey. Small soft serve in a cup comes with 4 toppings. Some toppings cost extra $0.50 each. This small bad boy came out to be more than $10. Strawberry flavor mix with taro. I could barely distinguish between the two flavors. More to me like a color difference. No distinct taste to the taro nor strawberry. Toppings are not stale. Staff was nice to let my daughter take time and pick her many choices of toppings.
So many options to pick through. The staff is helpful with reviewing menu options. Ice cream is smooth and sweet with tons of customizable options, which is a plus.
Very tasty spot! Went on a rainy day so it wasn't incredibly busy, but there was still a good amount of people coming in and out of the store. There's tons of Asian inspired flavors/options (Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Taro, Matcha, etc) which is really cool. Lots of different toppings and flavors too which can get overwhelming, but I love how there's a lot to choose from. You can either make your own or order one of their premade ones! I opted to make my own; Earl Grey Vanilla + Vietnamese Iced Coffee Swirl with a Biscoff cookie, Caramel Sauce, and some Chocolate crisps. It was so flavorful! I really liked how the Vietnamese Iced Coffee was strong and the Earl Grey in the Vanilla was incredibly prominent. They definitely balance each other out too. The kiddy size honestly is kinda big for me but totally worth the price (~$8 with up to 4 free toppings) for the amount you get! The shop was decorated very cute and spooky for halloween too which I appreciated! The service was quick and the cashier gave me great recommendations for toppings for my ice cream. I didn't plan on going here at first, but I would totally recommend checking this place out! They have these cool mason jar sundaes (which kinda look like a lot) but seem tasty as well. There's also boba/milk teas if you're not up for ice cream. This place was great and I can't wait to eat my leftovers later.
Surreal Creamery is a cool place to grab ice cream if you're nearby. This was my first time here, and I had never heard of them prior. The employees working there were helpful and quick. I love fun-looking ice cream! I tried a mason jar of Earl Grey vanilla with caramel and fruity pebbles. It was a tasty treat (smile). I do wish the caramel was drizzled on top too, not just in the mason jar. It's awesome that if you can't finish your ice cream (which I did not), you can put it in the freezer when you get home, and when the ice cream is all gone, you can keep the mason jar!
I've been to the location in Bryn Mawr and was so excited when they opened this spot in University City! I was so excited to visit. There's a chalkboard with a Philly mural that was cute and a few places to sit inside and outside as well. Personally I'm a fan of the earl grey ice cream with the earl grey boba!
There's not other way to describe this place except..surreal. The menu boasts boba soft serve combos as well as crazy mixes of soft serve, as well as cake topped with toppings frosting and soft serve in mason jars! Our favorites was the taro boba topped with taro and matcha swirl! The flavors were amazing and the boba was the perfect consistency! The Cookie Monster themed nom nom was perfect for kids (3 kids could share one!) and the chocolate cake mason jar but was 90% soft serve and 10% cake/frosting/fudge/etc. Super friendly and helpful employees. Pricey but worth every penny. Will be back soon!

Looking for a different ice cream experience, then you need to stop in at the Surreal Creamery. You'll be glad you did. There are endless choices: bubble tea, milkshakes, ice cream, combination(s) of those mentioned with toppings galore! And you can have it served up in a cup, cone, and/or mason jar. Soooo many options that you'll have a tough time picking but in a good way! You can either choose from their extensive menu or go totally off script to create your own. It'll make you want to come back to try something else. We chose to make our own. The shop itself is small but has a few tables and counter area with chairs for you to indulge in your magnificent creations. We had no problem grabbing a seat at the counter. The staff was super friendly and welcoming.

I love this idea! There was a place in NYC that had this float-tea concept that I became obsessed with, but they didn't survive COVID. Eat it fast though if your bringing it out. I live one block over on 38th and it barely made it when my husband brought up back home. It is a bit on the sweet side. The boba was cooked perfectly - has that bouncy chew to it. Some places over/undercooked where the boba either fills your cavities or pulls out your fillings. They are only one size, so arrive hungry and l/or with sweet teeth because one won't been enough. I would like to see new or rotating flavors. There's so much tea you can do so much! Like a ceylon tea and condensed milk of some kind (Malaysian twist), rose tea/soft serve, etc. I will definitely be returning!

The staff are extremely friendly and there is a lot of seating in and outside of the place. I enjoyed the many menu items especially the ice creams and drinks that are available! We got the ice cream which comes in a cute mason jar and Vietnamese coffee which was incredible. I highly recommend the nom Nom cookie. It was really delicious and unique. This is a must try spot and brand new in Philly! I will definitely be back!

stumbled upon this place by accident as I pulled over to catch a Pokémon. I heard the laughter from all the customers and had to be nosey lol. Glad I did cause the vibe was top tier. The staff was chill. Particularly the small black girl with the braces. I think her name was Allison. she was so sweet in helping me figure out what to get. We settled with the Apple pie cheesecake jar and it was amaaaaaaaaaaazing. I will for sure be coming back to this place and bringing my kids. read more
Overall, we enjoyed our after-show Surreal Creamery outing for something sweet. While the music was bumping a little hard for the few eat-ins, this location is between Penn and Drexel, so the clientele trends younger. The menu was a bit overwhelming in its presentation--it seemed a bit like there were different offerings on the color print-outs taped to the glass than what was on the larger, laminated menu on the wall. The chocolate small cup of soft serve with chocolate syrup and rainbow sprinkles was satisfying. It would've been perfect if hot fudge had been on offer. One oddity on the service end, one in our group tried to order a milkshake, but was told "no milkshakes" that evening, but then we saw a milkshake being picked up. (Perhaps that was the last one of the evening.) One disappointment on the menu end, one in our group prefers peanut-butter based ice cream, but there didn't seem to be one available, even via mix-ins, so he went without. One note on the food, one in our group ordered an Earl Grey cone, but it looked (and tasted) like plain vanilla. read more
oh sweet baby jesus....this place is something else. came here after having dinner around the corner because I promised my children sweets. promise delivered and then some. holy cow. first the ice cream is so creamy and delicious and then you get to the bubble tea portion. the bubble tea isn't as good as the ice cream, but it's good. feels a little artificial honestly. but my kids enjoyed it a lot & it was a great way to end out first day in Philadelphia! read more

Surreal is gonna be such a hot spot. I mean one scroll through their photos and they have you drooling. We couldn't say no to a trip after grabbing some dinner nearby. Surreal is easy to spot, super close to the University and easily accessible if you're on foot. There's a few stair steps to enter, so it's not accessible for all (btw). Their menu is full of sweet treats from boba to soft serve...to both aka Floateas. They have a mix of Asian flavors like taro and matcha, to more American like Reese's and oreo. We created our own concoction, since we were sharing a "signature mason jar" and couldn't agree on any of the specials. We mixed the taro and matcha soft serve, and chose the teddy grahams, chocolate chip cookie, fruity pebble cereal, and the wafer rolls. Their toppings aren't super generous on top, but I LOVE that they layer some crunchy cereal in between the soft serve when they're building it. The taro flavor is evident, and tasty. Their matcha wasn't strong, so it felt more like a vanilla style matcha vs an actual tea-heavy matcha. It was the perfect size to share between two. They have spoons to eat your dessert with, and you can keep the jar afterwards too! Servers were all friendly and helpful. They have indoor and less outdoor seating. Beware, if they run out of seating outside you'll probably get run out by their next door neighbor since their tables aren't shared. read more
This is a fun spot and I really enjoyed the ice cream and slushi combination. Three of us were able to share the strawberry ice cream with mango slushi and tapioca combination. It is huge! The strawberry ice cream is perfect and compliments the mango slushi. It is not overly sweet. The service was friendly and very fast. The interior has hightops to sit at. The mason jar shakes looked really good too, so would try that next. I hope a similar option comes into my hometown. read more

Secondly they will happily allow you to have a sample of each flavor before you order and explain the various options. Lastly it tastes great. There's ice cream, sweet, cold, wet, sticky. But this is something so much more. It's an experience for both your taste buds and your eyeballs. The space is small which can be an issue because of the popularity of the place or if you happen to encounter a possible drunk local student(this actually happened, FUTURE DR'S OF AMERICA, we're screwed). Back the ice cream. It's good. Like really really good. Basic good ice cream, but nothing basic about the presentation. Even a basic vanilla ice cream has a wow factor. We went in on the jars as well. Kinda overwhelmed by it all, but the boy only turns 9 once(EAT UP KID, we hitting laps tomorrow). The was a belly busting happy experience. read more
Accidentally stumbled upon their soft opening (Just having the time to write this now) on our walk home from classes and was surprised a new ice cream place opened! I've heard of good things of the other Surreal Creameries and their ice cream floats. Had a good conversation with the owner and staff, who are all very welcoming and eager to learn. The drinks took a little bit to come out, but totally understandable as it was their first day. I was feeling bloated, so I opted for their passion fruit green tea boba - it tasted like a normal boba drink. My friends got a few different ice cream options and they were delicious! Definitely need to share with other people, as the portions are humongous (& worth it for the price!). Thanks you guys! read more
My boyfriend & I had dinner down the street and wanted dessert after. With a quick Yelp review, we saw Surreal Creamery pop up. The staff were very patient with us while we made our decision. We decided on the mason jar ice cream, "It's My Birthday", since it was actually my birthday when we went. It was delicious. The creamery was clean and cute. A few high top tables inside. And the picture wall was a nice touch as well. read more

This place makes Philly better. I know it's a lot of ice cream and bubble tea but it definitely makes everything feels better when I need some sweets and drinks. The tea flavor tastes natural and pleasant and very refreshing. I wish they put more drinks and less ice cream but I totally enjoy this place read more

If you have a sweet tooth, this is the spot for you! You can customize your jar yourself with the options available. The rightmost jar in the pic was personalized. It was a very sweet jar. Both tasted great. After dinner, one was too much for me, so I shared mine. It was more of a self-serve cafe, but it was still a great place to hang out with friends and have dessert. Prepare for gathering up your own chairs and wiping down your own table. Getting your own table is first come, first served, as it can get busy during the warmer months, depending on when you visit. The staff members behind the counter will be occupied. It's good that you may keep the jar if you ordered it. read more

Came here with some friends for a local pick-me-up! The ice cream and topping filled mason jars were $11.25, and you got to keep the jars. The ice cream was on the much sweeter side. But, there were lots of combinations to choose from for toppings and ice cream flavors. The interior of the store is very clean and bright, perfect for pics. Also the staff seemed very friendly although the line was pretty slow to move. read more
Found Surreal Creamy on Yelp while in Philly. The two workers were friendly and greeted immediately. The space in the shop was clean. I got the The chocolate blackout which was delicious. The ice cream itself wasn't really sweet but other toppings was so I think it was a good combination. I recommend sharing this between a couple. You can sample the flavors before getting them as well. Solid spot, no complaints. read more

This place is a must for all bucket lists! I literally had ice cream constantly while I was here for six months. I absolutely love this place and I highly recommend it. I always usually get the same thing but the very first time I was here I got one of their mason jars With cake and monster ice cream which was amazing but my favorite thing on the menu and the thing that I have gotten almost every single day since is there Oreo milkshake basically it is on the make your own milkshake menu by adding Earl Gray, vanilla ice cream, milk, and of course, Oreo cookies. They blend it all together into this scrumptious goodness. I literally was hooked on them. The staff was absolutely amazing very friendly, very attentive. The place is very clean. There is a bathroom on the premises that is also very clean. They even have a little area outside that you can sit next to the building. I guess the only complaint I could possibly say is that they don't have one of these in my town L O L. and they only offer it in one size bummer ! The price is a little high, but it's very worth it. I promise. They also serve things like taro and Matcha And they make this amazingly beautiful looking bubble tea. Not really my thing so I didn't try it, but I see a lot of people ordering it. They're not stingy with the ice cream. It's usually heaping on the top above where the rim of the glass is. It's kind of a little hole in the wall. If you don't look while you're walking, you'll miss it. Anyways this concludes my review. If you haven't been here, you have to try it at least once. Happy Licking read more

I love ice cream and haven't been to a ice cream shop with this much soft serve variety in a while. The person helping us out was extremely patient while we tried to figure out which flavors to get. I ended up getting taro soft serve with Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It was soooo good, but i wish I had a better understanding of how their menu worked because otherwise I would have changed my order around. I would recommend only if you're ready to spend extra on your ice cream for the aesthetic, but also good flavors. read more

So excited to be able to try surreal creamery! I had heard of them in NJ and NYC, but was never able to try it. The experience was well worth the wait and a pleasant surprise as it opened so close and with a very unique atmosphere. Located right next to Paris baguette, it is easy to find and worth a try. The nom nom cookie was so good and I loved the toppings that they put on it. It even came with a cute mason jar that you can take home with surreal creamery's logo on it. This is a must try if you are in or around Philadelphia! read more
