The ingredients taste so fresh compared to other bowl places. I've never tried something from this menu and been disappointed; there are just too many things to recommend. We loved the food at Surf Taco, but it's been a while since going there. So we decided to get some take out Saturday night. What a difference a few years make. We ordered 4 taco salad bowls. 2 with chicken, 1 with steak and the last one just with beans. The description states romaine lettuce, black beans, rice, jack and cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. served with chips $11 Add chicken or beef $3 - add steak $4. First, don't call it a taco salad bowl if it doesn't come with a taco shell. Without the shell it's just a salad. None of the 'salads' came with sour cream or guacamole. The steak salad came with ground beef. I ordered mine without the pico de gallo so none of the 'salads' came with the pico de gallo. Without the sour cream and guacamole the 'salad' was dry. Your given a ticket and a stand, and when your food is ready it is delivered right to your table. There is a dining room for eating in. They also have takeout, delivery service, and catering. Their menu is simple with a good selection of healthy items to choose from including VEGETARIAN , and you can get SALADS, BOWLS. WRAPS, COMBO MEALS, or SEASONAL SPECIALS. Surf Taco is known for a very large burrito known as the TSUNAMI. I chose the pinto beans and rice as a side instead of chips. . My tacos came double layered and fully loaded with fresh battered Cod topped with pico de gallo, shredded cabbage, white cilantro sauce, and fresh lime. My tacos were packed with flavor, the cod was delicious and they have a HOT SAUCE BAR. So I added some tomatillo sauce on top. I was only able to eat one taco, the other one I brought home to gave for lunch the next day. The pinto beans and rice were also very good. I love guacamole, so I ordered a large with chips to share. That too was very good. My daughter ordered the MAVERICK BURRITO with Chicken. Char-grilled Chicken packed with rice, beans, jack & cheddar cheeses, lettuce, sour cream and pico de gallo. Her burrito was a nice size and she really enjoyed it. Surf Taco offers dessert and it looked interesting especially the fried Oreos, but I was so full I couldn't eat another bite. The staff was friendly, and when placing my order the man at the counter taking my order was very helpful. Since you are near Monmouth University, FYI this Surf Taco can get very very busy. I came here before heading to the beach, and I was very impressed with the food! I got the combo that comes with two tacos, a side of rice and beans, and a drink. I wanted a taco with cod in it, but I saw that the surf taco had white cilantro sauce (I don't like cilantro) so I decided to get the surf taco Baja style. I also ordered the mahi taco as part of my combo, and I was told the pico de gallo has cilantro in it, but I decided to get it anyways and see. My favorite was the Baja surf taco!!! It came with a nice crispy piece of cod, and the sauce they used was delicious. The mahi taco was very good too, and I didn't notice the cilantro in the pico. Both tacos were filled with so much food. I was full after just the two tacos, but still ate some rice, beans, and chips, but I wasn't able to finish it all since it was too much food. They had a nice salsa bar with 4-5 different salsas to choose from, so I tried a little bit of each. I was pleasantly surprised with how good and filling all the food was. I highly recommend coming to this place, since the food was delicious, it came out quickly, and it was all decently priced. My meal was around $15, and it kept me full for hours since we went to the beach after, and I didn't feel the need to fill up on snacks while I was there. read more

You aren't the only one who is barefoot with sand in your hair- everyone else just came from the beach too. The Food: Standard Mexican fare with an island inspired twist. Yes, you can find all of your favorites (Tacos, burritos, dillas, salads) but they put a really unique spin on a bunch of dishes. I usually go with the chicken tender taco, a crispy chicken tender and some lettuce, pico and cheese all smothered in ranch dressing and wrapped in a soft tortilla. Other non-traditional dishes here include the buffalo solider burrito (buff chicken burrito, you guessed it) and an aloha wrap with fresh pineapple chunks and teriyaki chicken. Any and all orders come with a side of chips and you can get all the fixings at the complimentary salsa bar. I tend to take my family here often and do enjoy the food. However, tonight the cashier picked up my cups by the rim and placed them in front of me. I asked her nicely if I could have new cups because she placed her fingers where we place our lips on the cups and I'm still very cautious about the pandemic. Her response was a dirty look, roll of her eyes and then placing nee cups in front of me, one at a time. This behavior was unacceptable in so many ways. This is one of my favorite places to go to whenever I'm at the beach in the summer. It's a Jersey Shore essential. Most of the locations are within a few minute drive from the beach, which makes it great for a late lunch as you're leaving the beach. I went to this particular location before heading to Pier Village for the day. This place has a ton of seating, very open, and has a very relaxed feel. Once you order, the cashier will give you a number on a stand that you can take to your table and the food will be brought out to you, which is really nice. When I went, I ordered the Buffalo Soldier burrito and my friend got the Garlic Shrimp Burrito. Every food item on the menu comes with a basket of nachos, as well. There is a selection of different salsas ranging from mild to hot that you are free to take as much of. The food itself was very good, on par with many other taco or burrito places. The food is decent. That's why I gave it one star. The staff is terrible. They're not paying attention to getting the order correct or serving the customer or even keeping the restaurant clean. Walked back to the store to see 8 kids standing around the cash register doing nothing even though the store was in shambles. Told them they forgot my chips. The "manager" kind of apologized and asked one of the others to go get chips. One girl went into the back, I thought to get chips but came back empty handed. Complaining about a stain on her too short shorts. A few minutes later a guy came out and handed us our chips. Please have an adult on staff when you have these kids in here serving customers or at least train them on how to give proper customer service. Great taco shop off the beaten path in Long Branch. It's an area away from Pier Village and the road is narrow (you'll see if you park around there). Anyhoot, their menu is full of tacos, salads, burritos and such. We ordered a cheese quesadilla which my son devoured in no time. I had their special burrito which was very good (definitely get the steak). Wifey had the chicken salad but wished she had gotten the steak. We also ordered a side of guac which was very good and every dish comes with chips. Word to the wise, sample all of their salsa's (including the hot ones) at their salsa station. 4 to choose and definitely get their guac. Ingredients seemed to be fresh and flavorful. Plenty of seating and the food is brought to your table once ordered at the counter. Their is outside seating but its limited. Prices are a little on the higher side but the quality is there. Parking: we come to this location a few times every summer for the past 3 years and have no issue with parking during lunch hours. Service: ppl are highly helpful and friendly! Cleanliness: the bathroom cabinet was left opened and paper was all around the floor. Even saw a spider near the toilet. Food: the chips tasted stale. I had the Mahi Taco and it was cooked perfectly. It came topped with an Avocado Lime sauce which was oddly refreshing, Lettuce, Pineapple Chunks, Pico de Gallo, and Avocado in a corn tortilla. MACHINE SCREW SALAD Ordered takeout which included one taco salad with POINTED SCREW! Buried inside. The order was supposed to arrive in 40min. But took 1:15. When I called to complain about biting into a SCREW they said they'd give me refund and send someone out to pic up the salad and their MISSING SCREW! A week later I got a refund that was 9 bucks for the salad only, not the entire $30 order which no one was else was going to touch after I BIT INTO A SCREW! I contacted management and finally was able to get a full refund about a month later. Very sad incident and very poor remediation. Last time I order from them and we go to all local location a lot. Maybe they are losing quality control with the large expansion that they are undertaking?
