My husband and I always enjoy stopping in Surf N Spray on our morning walks. For some reason, good coffee is hard to find on the broadwalk. But when I found surf n spray, that changed! The owner is almost always sitting out front enjoying a shot of espresso and makes all beverages himself. The vintage posters and ice cream cases add to the relaxed beach atmosphere. I've had both a hot oat milk latte and iced and have enjoyed both. We can't wait to stop by in the evening and enjoy some affogato. I saw people leaving here with soft serve which is a main weakness of mine and I snuck in after doing the walk from the park and back which is about 3.5 miles. They have some really good flavors of soft serve inside which are the usual vanilla, chocolate, twist, strawberry or pistachio. Pistachio soft serve?! Say no more, that's what I got and it was wonderful! Highly recommend. They have other ice creams by the scoop as well as coffee and tea and other drinks and some tables right out front for you to stop and enjoy your choices. Used to come to this place all the time as a kid and I'm so happy to see that not much has changed! This location is right on Hollywood beach facing the water with outdoor seating. The same posters, pictures, seats, and even the menu inside all makes me feel like it's the early 2000s again. There is a new owner who is extremely sweet and works at a great pace to get everyone in a timely manner. I typically get the strawberry with pistachio swirl soft serve, but I was with my mom and aunt so we all decided to share a banana split- filling for 3 adults and plenty left over! read more

I can't have gluten (not even cross contamination) and I understand the risks when I go to places that have gluten. This place does have gluten free cones, but when I asked the server to either put on gloves or wash his hands to grab my cone so he doesn't cross contaminate, he refused to do either and was rude about it. So I find it pretty weird that a food server would refuse to wash his hands. read more

I've been trolling the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk for a couple of weeks now but this is my first time trying Surf N Spray. I actually came for a coffee fix but immediately changed my mind when I saw that this place also is an ice cream shop AND a juice and smoothie bar . So I nixed the coffee and instead opted for a smoothie. The guy running Surf n Spray may be the owner. He was super nice and gave me recommendations on what to try. I ended up choosing a mango-peach smoothie, made fresh. I'll be back to try their coffee and possible ice cream. The one thing that I wish they offered was fresh fruit or other mixers in the drink. I'm a big coconut freak and I can imagine this mango-peach smoothie being boosted to another level if it had coconut in it. Not a big deal, but certainly, the more options, the better. 7/29/21 - We decided to have an after dinner treat to share. OH BOY!!! I say while watching the ice cream come out the door held by "T". How in the world can you mess up ice cream. And at a popular place as this. It wasn't sweet and it tasted grainy. Grainy? Like it hadn't been blended well, so tiny shards of ice was still in the blend. We tossed it after 2-3 licks. Hands down the best coffee shop in the area! I return to Hollywood beach each year and I am so happy to see this little shop open and operating by the same family! They are polite, helpful and more importantly, they know the difference between a cappuccino, an espresso and a macchiato! We come here at least once a year while on vacation to the area. It's a simple beachside ice cream spot but has Gluten Free cones, lactose free soft serve, sorbet, and more. Beyond the great ice cream, the owner is probably the kindest man in the whole state of Florida. I always stop by this ice cream shop when I am on the broadwalk. I love their pistachio ice cream. It is awesome! The owner and his, I am assuming dad, are very friendly. If you spend more than $5, you can charge your purchase. I have tried their Spumoni and like that but did not love it. The pistachio soft serve is where it is at for me. They also have tables in front but you have to be lucky to snag one of those. This place gets pretty busy. I recommend checking it out when you are in the area. read more

The owner of this place is so friendly. He remembers me from one summer to the next for several years now. You don't see that too much nowadays. It makes me feel special. Saturday afternoon while enjoying a day at Charnow Park, my friends and I walked the boardwalk. We came up to Surf N Spray and decided to get some ice cream since it was so hot that day. They have a variety of different ice cream flavors. I ordered the vanilla and vanilla chocolate chip. It was to die for. I like ice cream like a fat kid loves cake !!! My friends enjoyed their ice cream also. They had pistachio and strawberry flavors. The server had a great attitude and was friendly too. The store is yet small but organized. You can either sit inside or outside to enjoy your ice cream with family or friends. I recommend sitting outside for the beautiful scenery and beach view. A couple 100 feet away you can hear and see performances from the stage. The bathrooms and parking garage are not to far away. read more

Customer service? Amazing! The owner was extremely kind and sociable. Prices? For the location you can't beat them, extremely affordable. View? Perfect! You can eat your ice cream and sit and look at the beautiful Hollywood beach. Their soft serve ice cream is lactose free!!! They have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and pistachio. It was basic ice cream with friendly service, at a great beach environment. I asked the cost of my order and was told "it was a lot" by the person working I can work with this answer, and was surprised with it still. I order a hard ice cream in a waffle cone and a small vanilla shake for a friend. I never was told a total, but received $5 and some change from a $20. With my hands full and tired, I know ice cream is not always a deal, but it was a unique experience to say the least. Won't be my first stop, but when at Hollywood Beach area on the boardwalk it was convenient. read more

The owner took his time and made a piece of art with 3 different flavors, whip cream, fresh banana, chocolate and caramel, nits sprinkles and chocolate covered strawberries. Their soft serve is not good. Not trying to be mean but just don't go here. We went here cause they had a special and it's totally not worth ir. Edy's is farther down the boardwalk and their soft serve is AMAZING!!! Better off paying double the price and enjoying it. Good little ice cream shop in a sea of tiny shops along the Broadwalk. The have soft serve, ice cream, candies, chocolates, shakes and more. I had the chocolate soft serve on a cone ($1.75) dipped in chocolate ($0.50). So cheap and so satisfying on this hot hot day. It melted so fast I couldn't keep up! I had chocolate dripping down my arm! But who cares? It felt like being a kid again! They have about 5 or 6 soft serve flavors and maybe 10 of ice cream plus toppings and other sweets to choose from. You can't really mess up soft serve so mine was just as expected. Yummy. They have a few tables outside where you can enjoy your ice cold treat while looking out at the ocean or people watch. They have a large variety of ice cream. I tried something new soft serve pistachio ice cream very bad choice not good at all but the Waffle Cone was delicious. The best coffee we had on the strip! Coffee was well prepared and service was friendly. Got a cappuccino and afogato. Lots of foam on the cappuccino and generous serving of ice cream in the afogato. Easy to pay with a credit card but no way to add tip after the transaction was complete- maybe if you tell the barista before you are rung up? Would be five stars if the coffee was stronger! Wish I could say 4.5. read more

After some back and forth I was told the only flavor I could order was vanilla :( I appreciate caution around allergies, I truly do. But most establishments handle this with a standard cross-contamination warning and let the adult with the allergy make an informed decision. As someone who has worked in an ice cream shop (without a problem) it makes me question their food handling and cleanliness... I left without ordering anything. But everyone around seemed to be enjoying the $9 scoops of what I can only assume were life-changing flavors The place looks great. I hope they revisit how they handle allergy disclosures, because I genuinely wanted to love it and I'd like the chance to actually try it someday.

Hollywood Ice Cream offers 16 flavors of ice cream including vegan and two flavors of sorbet. Flavors include standard favorites like vanilla, strawberry, cookies and cream along with the less typical biscoff and guava, You can have your ice cream in a cup or cone, in a sandwich, as a sundae, or covered in toppings. They were out of my favorite chocolate chip mint so I went with the coffee crunch my friend recommended and had it topped with hot fudge. It was delicious but with tip one scoop of ice cream with fudge was $11. That is a bit pricey for me but it did hit the spot.

Don Drybread, Louis Siciliano's great-grandson, originally opened the custard stand as Uncle Tony's Frozen Custard before renaming it Siciliano's in honor of his mother's side of the family.
