My golly their latte hit my mouth and my mouth had an O. I literally gasped "oh my god" out loud after my first sip. I got a half sweet caramel latte with regular milk and it came with a froth on top that I wasn't expecting, which made the experience all the more special. When it's my first time, I ask a lot of questions. I'm a typical Californian what can I say: "Is your syrup too sweet?" "What flavors of syrup do you have?" "Whoops can I switch from vanilla to caramel." I even added a water and soda to my order. The best part: the lady who served me didn't even seem phased. If she was annoyed she never showed it, and always answered me in an upbeat tone but not the kind of cheery tone that can be annoying, more like matter-of-fact cheer, does that make sense? Basically, she impressed me that she handled me like a true pro - and I call that true customer service. Latte 50% sweet is not too sweet, it is a hint of flavor and a phenomenal flavor profile - 100% recommend. The peppercorn soda - not my cup of tea it was way too sweet (I thought it was fancy flavored sparkling water to be honest) - Fail - 0% recommend (but Sur doesn't make it so it's not on them). I go probably once or twice a week. I still like it but the coffee is definitely hit or miss. I've had a few more disappointing drinks. I had a horrible dirty chai. Some lattes are great and some are just meh; I make better lattes on my $100 amazon espresso machine. This is coming from a former barista so I'm picky. It definitely seems like it just depends on which barista you get, if they maybe made sure there was consistency between their baristas I think the drinks would turn out great every time! But some of them just don't really seem to have it down quite yet and could probably use more training (I've been there, I get it, it's okay!)... But I'm probably gonna start trying some more coffee shops in the area cause it's been almost every other drink is bad. Otherwise, their cold foam however, great every time yum yum yum. I'd still recommend coming and trying it and I'm not done coming cause when the coffee is done right it's great and their customer service is great and they let me bring my doggy which is great! read more

Good cold brew if you want to stay awake. A bit jittery but not terrible. Not too acidic with a full body. 4.75$ Chill staff.

Sur Coffee is always worth the drive or stop in if you are in the San Clemente area. Personally I live in North Orange County and still make the drive a few times a month -- favorite part of Sur is the friendly baristas, high quality drinks and plenty of seating inside and out. Personally only drink matcha, and compared to other shops in OC it is definitely one of the best in the area. Grateful for the Sur team, especially Chris, who is always kind and welcoming. read more

Our first impression of this coffee shop was not good. There were lots of people congregating at the front counter with two large dogs off leash. The dogs leash was left on the counter where food and drink usually flow through. And oh yes.... The coffee was okay. Probably not coming back anytime soon read more

What else do you need to know. Super chill atmosphere with amazing coffee. I keep it simple, just black. I've got to say it was the perfect coffee. I can't imagine what the pore over or other more refined coffee techniques are like. But if the drip morning brew taste this good then anything more would be amazing. Coffee and matcha were great. But a little disappointed on the customer service. On Friday June 23rd at 12:30 pm I visited Sur for the first time. The cashier was a little quiet, asked for my name but never called out my drink order. When I finally realized my drinks were sitting there on the counter for 10 'minutes . I felt dumb waiting there for a while when my drink was sitting on the counter the entire time without notice . Next time I would love to get my name called. read more

Staffs awesome. The house made sourdough cinnamon roll is to die for- I crave it at times. The coffees good and so are their other concoctions. They have a weekly church gathering that operated out of there in Tuesday's with live music and cool people- really nice service. Highly recommend but hate letting the secret out. read more

I admittedly drink more coffee than the average person. In fact we just installed a built-in espresso machine in our kitchen that makes cappuccino lattes and whatever else you may want. But when I leave the house for coffee this is the place I love to go to! They make great coffee the baker is legit and the hospitality wins me over every time. Today I ended up sitting in the window for about an hour or two taking care of some unexpected business and they even brought me a cup of water to quench my thirst. Love love this coffee shop! Apart from the fun drinks and great coffee, the vibes inside are lovely. Super cute decorations and paintings on the walls. They have an outdoor seating area in the front and back which are great for getting work done or meeting with a friend. All of the staff are so cute and friendly, willing to make changes to your drinks and serve you well. My favorite is a dirty chai with myracle milk and honey. Their matcha is a fav as well. So is their iced vanilla latte! And all of the baked goods are made in house daily. Go visit Sur before your beach day! read more
