The transportation desk at Newark Airport kept saying the driver said he was at Terminal B while I was at Terminal C. Seeing no end to this situation, I gave up and took a cab. It's really hard to give an accurate rating, as each ride varies. I have used SuperShuttle quite often in the last 15 years, and the majority of the rides have been pleasant enough and got me there on time. That said, I've had several rides where the driver was late, and really had to rush to get me to the airport. Have also had very long waits at the airport even though I had a reservation, and two times have never been picked up. (was told no more shuttles until the next morning) Also had a van break down in front of my house, and was transported by car service at their expense. Most of the bad experiences have been in the past, and I stopped using them for a few years, but the last 3-4 rides they seem to have stepped up their game. I try to think of it as an adventure! For the cost savings, it's worth the extra time it takes over taxi/car service. If you have the time to spare, I would recommend the service. Just allow yourself plenty of time, and check with them frequently if they are late. read more

The super shuttle website told me to check in at their desk at JFK. Turns out THERE IS NO SuperShuttle desk at JFK. I was finally directed to a service phone from which to call them. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes I was told to go to a different (unmarked) location to check in. This is seriously the most inane process I've ever experienced--and after an hour I still haven't left the airport. read more

I have used this service four times now and I can honestly say that is the best way to get to and from the airport. The first time we used it we were picked up at 4:15 AM in Amityville and take him to JFK with no issue. The driver met us promptly after we got our baggage on the way home from that trip and there were no issues getting home. We just used this service again to go to JFK for another trip and I can't say the experience was nothing less than spectacular. The driver showed up on time loaded the bags for us and got us to the airport with plenty of time to catch our flight. I just got home after a few days down in Myrtle Beach the flight landed at 7:40 I requested the car to pick us up at 8 o'clock and he was outside waiting for us when we walked out without golf bags. He loaded our bags and got us home safe and sound in very good time. I highly recommend their service it's better than parking at the airport or bribing a family member to drive you since they will have to drive all the way back home. We try to get a large group when we use it so we take the entire van by ourselves with no stops which helps with getting right to the airport from your door. read more

*TO* the airport. I recently reserved super shuttle for my 7:30 am flight. It seemed easy enough - they provide you with a pick up window of 15 minutes and they say to be ready at the beginning of your pick up time. So at 4:00 am I was ready to be picked up for my 4:00-4:15 window. I looked on the app to track the shuttle. All the app said was "Your shuttle is on the way" - what does that mean? Where IS it? I didn't worry because I still had 15 minutes to be picked up. The map on the app is confusing because it shows all these blue dots (I assume where the pick ups are located) but it doesn't tell you where the shuttle is, or in what direction it is going. Sometimes the dots would disappear (assuming people were picked up?) but it would be nice if you could know what the heck was going on! Tracking a shuttle would be SO easy if super shuttle enabled this feature in their cars. All the other transportation agencies can do it, so why cant they? So, of course - at 4:15 I texted the driver through the app just to check. I never received a response. I then texted again at 4:25 am and I STILL did not receive a response! What is the point of this feature if I can't get a hold of my driver??? This was seriously nerve wrecking to the point where I almost jumped in a cab! So - at 4:35 am I was finally picked up. I was relieved to see the shuttle pull up (out of nowhere) , but the whole time I felt like, "Is this shuttle ACTUALLY going to show up at my door?". I didn't think the drive was terrible - my driver was nice. BUT I had NO IDEA that the shuttle was going to stop at LGA before going to JFK - they neglect to tell you that!! So, I got to the airport in time for my flight because I did not have to check my bag - phew. I would probably not take super shuttle again without some serious incentive. Used SuperShuttle for transportation from Rockville Centre, Long Island to JFK and back for family of six and was very happy with service that was on time and professional. I did everything on line (reservations, etc.) Our driver was excellent. I'm surprised to see the negative reviews, but I guess bad experiences can always happen. They won't pick you up until the bus is filled. That meant that I got stranded for more than an hour waiting at a terminal after a redeye not knowing when I will get a ride. Cancelled after complaining and took uber. Now have to deal with them not refunding me even though customer service person told me I would get a refund when I called to cancel. The super shuttle left me super stranded. We planned a vacation and our flight left LGA at 6 am meaning that we had to leave pretty early for our flight. Super shuttle scheduled to pick us up at 3 am. When they arrived, we brought our bags out to the curb and the driver became enraged. He started yelling at us because we had a ski bag. Nowhere on the online reservation form did it ask us about types of bags, etc. The driver refused to take us and after yelling at us and telling us how our ski bag could fly through the air and hit him in the head (unlikely, since it would have been under the van seats) he left us stranded on the curb at 3:15 am. Luckily, we found a great taxi driver who was friendly, nice and got us to the airport by in 35 minutes. Lesson learned: take a taxi instead! read more

I must be the dumbest person in New York because I booked a ride in from JFK on Super Shuttle without looking up their rating. Big mistake. Don't take Super Shuttle. Walk home from JFK carrying 10 heavy suitcases on your head before you waste your money and time on this inexcusably bad service. What you'll get is a nasty, surly driver in a broken down van, with no air conditioning, who will be too lazy to find out what the latest traffic problems are. So, you will be packed like a limp sardine in a van full of increasingly nauseated people, while the temperature rises to stiflingly hot. Imagine the thrill of sitting in traffic with a hostile driver telling you to "shut up or get out" when you ask about why the air conditioner doesn't go on. There are no windows that open in the back of that van. He won't open his window up front. This trip could take you more than two hours instead of 45 minutes in a taxi. You will have a headache and want to beg him to let you out. We all jumped out at the Queensboro Plaza subway stop, and had to drag our suitcases up and down staircases while changing trains on our way back into the city. Even that was a pleasure compared to the Super Shuttle. Now I guess the fun begins trying to get our money refunded. read more

Worst experience!!! The driver was driving terribly, disregarding other people on the road, cutting in front of people and stopping and starting incredibly aggressively. To the person sitting in front he said that if you're scared then you need to sit in the back. Apart from the driver, it was just badly organized. We were told it would take 45min to an hour to get to our destination, but when we spent the first 45min just driving around picking up other people around the airport. When we eventually left the airport it was another hour and a half before we got to the hotel. So over 2 and a half hours in total from when we first started waiting for the shuttle. We were only the 3rd drop off, so for other people in the shuttle it must be longer. read more

The fiancé and I were traveling for the first time to NYC (via La Guardia) and needed to get to Manhattan. I did a lot of research and wasn't really sure what choice to make for our ground transportation to the hotel. Taxi's sounded overly expensive and shuttles sounded time consuming and scary even (based on reviews, yikes!). Well, we opted for the shuttle and after more research picked SuperShuttle. I'd used them before in California and while there is often a certain amount of waiting involved, I've never had any problem with the service. I'm proud to report that I still feel that way! We landed at LGA and found our way to the desk. (TIP: If you're at LGA the SuperShuttle desk is inside; there is no sign, just ask someone to point you to it). We'd pre-paid so we just handed in our confirmation number sat down to wait. Our wait time was super short. My fiancé stayed with the luggage while I went to the ladies room, and before I knew it he was texting me to hurry up because our shuttle had arrived. If you are mentally prepared for the fact that it is a shuttle and therefore will make other stops you'll be fine. The driver was nice and before I knew it we were at our hotel. In my opinion you can't beat the price. Unless you have to be somewhere lightening fast, it doesn't make a lot of sense to pay almost 3x as much or more for a taxi. read more

Terrible terrible terrible. It all started at the "ground transportation desk" where I checked in and then was given no directions whatsoever as to what was happening. After waiting for ONE HOUR I called super shuttle and they told me my driver was still on the way. Then my driver calls and tells me to meet him somewhere, without giving me any proper direction. Finally, I get into the shuttle and there wasn't even a seat for me, I was sardined in the back next to 3 other people when there was only 3 seats. I was u happy with the entire experience. Toke a plan from Philadelphia to Florida . Finally at 11pm made it to Florida and when she gets there guess what ? Her driver isn't there . She try's to call them and they Rudely tell her that she hasn't been assigned a van yet . So my old mother has been waiting outside for 2 hours and there still is no driver there . Then they tell her to call a cab . What ? So u mean to tell me I payed 50 bucks so that u can make my mother wait outside in the cold for 2 hours just to tell her to take a cab if she can't be patient ? Ahhh man . Horrible service . My experience with super shuttle was a complete disaster. I reserved a shuttle to pick me up a 2am from Newark. I realized that this was not during typical operating hours, so I called in advance and asked several times if a shuttle would be available at the hour. The woman on the phone told me a shuttle would be available, it just may take extra time. She even called the dispatch at Newark to confirm. I checked in on my phone when I arrived at Newark, and was told a shuttle would be there in a few minutes. I called to confirm this was the case, and she instructed me that I needed to check in with an agent. There were no agents working at that hour, so I was told to use the service phone in the airport. Supershuttle's online instructions were horrific, and it took me about 10 minutes to find the service phones. They claimed there would be "welcome center" signs posted, which there were not. When I called, the woman immediately told me no shuttles were available at this hour. When I explained how I had called in advance to specifically avoid this problem, she rudely ignored my comment and asked if I wanted to cancel. I ended up paying for an $80 cab, which is completely out of my budget. Although I was easily able to get a refund from Supershuttle, they never once apologized for giving me completely incorrect information. What a horrible experience!!! We were the first pick up from LaQuardia. Then the driver waited for more people - that's fine, everyone has to make a living. We left the airport - lots of construction, traffic, etc. He received a call and turned BACK to the airport to pick up two more people. Drove like a lunatic, and we were the last drop off - 2.5 HOURS after we initially got on the SuperShuttle. The best part - didn't even drop us off at the hotel because of the one ways and having to go all the way around or some excuse like that. Dropped us off at the corner of 6th and Broadway (busy intersection) and we had to walk with 3 suitcases and 2 children. NOT impressed. I booked an open day ticket through Big Bus. The voucher said to dial #29 at JFK. When I did that, the operator told me I was calling the wrong company, even though my ticket said SUPER SHUTTLE, and had the same instructions as the information board at the airport (dial #29). So, then she took my information. Told me to wait 15-20 minutes, and that the driver would call me by name. She took my cell phone number in case the driver needed to contact me. I waited nearly 40 minutes. I see a super shuttle driver. He is walking away with another customer. I chase him down, running with my suitcase in tow. Then he tells me he is not picking me up, and directs me to another phone, and tells me to call #29. I do. I ask the status on my shuttle. The new operator I am speaking with, asks me for my confirmation number, something I do not have. I only had my voucher number. Not good. She looks me up by my last name, as the previous operator had done. She says I am not on the system. No one is picking me up. She transfers me to someone who can look me up and give me a confirmation number. That phone call took me back to the main menu, where no live person helped me. I had to hang up and call again. This third operator, was professional and helpful. She not only booked me right away with my voucher number, but she also gave me a boarding number. So, by the time my shuttle came it was about 2 hours later. I would have been faster had I taken the airtrain and the E train to Manhattan. I was planned to return to JFK that route. But when I had to leave for the airport, it was snowing so I decided not to take a chance on the train and book a shuttle. Guess what? I booked with Apple Commuter, and I had such a much better experience! read more

I made a reservation and paid online the day before my flight from LAX to EWR. Landing 12:20 a.m. Received text telling me to go to the Welcome Center at the airport upon arrival. Also had opportunity to check in by phone once landed. Checked in on phone. Nothing, nothing, nothing. No way to contact anyone. No signage at the airport indicationing either a SuperShuttle representative OR their pick up location. Asked a traffic policeman. Walked several doors down to the deserted Welcome Center. Another kind airport policeman who was there by chance searched around with me and together we found a courtesy phone to call a representative. It is now 1:15 in the morning- all the lights are off. A few homeless people sleeping nearby. Spoke to a rep who told me the wait for a bus and a driver would be 45 minutes to an hour..Are they kidding? I had a reservation and they had all relevant information as to when my flight landed. Cancelled my reservation( a refund will take up to 7 business days) and took an Uber. I was home in bed before that SuperShuttle would have turned up at the airport. Spend the extra $35 and don't waste your time with this company. What a hassle and how disorganized. read more

I have used this service in the past and it was Ok (with the exception of the driver stopping to pick up passengers on the street in port authority), but last time I've reserved transportation the car did not show off to pick me up at my apartment, I've call them and then they told me that no car had been assigned to pick me up and that there were no cars available so I had to find transportation on my own, I will never use this unprofessional and unreliable service and of course I will never recommend it. read more

The driver was rude on the phone, and complained about incorrectly writing down my address. When we were in the cab, it was hot but the driver didn't offer air conditioning. Once we picked up the other passengers departing back to England, he suddenly became more friendly offering air conditioning. He made us feel unsafe on many occasions during the trip and failed to bring us to the curb upon arrival of our destination. He was rude and pretty much nasty to us the whole time. I would not recommend super shuttle to anybody unless you feel like getting mistreated on the way to the airport. Go with someone else. read more

They first told me 25 minutes... 45 minutes later they told me 10 minutes...20 minutes later they told me 5 minutes and that the van was in my terminal. Jnocharles told me 20-25 minutes and conveniently gave herself an "outstanding" review when confirming my reservation. They put me on one shuttle and when I was asking how long it will take to get to New York because they were so late and I have a meeting, the driver kicked me out of the car and moved me to another shuttle and said the other driver will take me without any explanation. After good experiences with the company this time it was very bad. Our shuttle was stopped at the parking lot for over 45 minutes before coming to pick us up. Then it still had to pickup everybody else so over an hour and a quarter after we checked in we finally left the airport. On top of waiting for all that time we kept getting text messages giving us new check-in numbers resetting our position in line. While we were waiting two people without reservations got on shuttles destined to areas near by our destination. To top off the bad services our driver dropped us off two blocks from our hotel so he did not need to go down a couple of one ways. When I asked if the hotel was on the block he was dropping us off on he lied and said yes. Definitely not worth the money. I booked a shuttle into town at the Welcome Center/Ground Transportation desk just across from baggage claim in the Delta Terminal at LaGuardia. I was booked on SuperShuttle and was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was, just over $14. It's super convenient and inexpensive, but plan on spending an hour to an hour and a half on board. That's because the shuttle picks up other riders until it's full, typically 10 to 12 people, and depending on what hotel you're staying at, you could be the first or last passenger dropped off. It's easy to book a return trip, just call and make a reservation a day ahead of time. My only complaint is that you'll sacrifice time. The shuttle was prompt, arriving 10 minutes before my scheduled pick up time, about four hours before my flight. We then spent an hour picking up other riders and headed to the airport. I was way early for my flight. The return was $18+. If traveling with other people, next time I might opt for a taxi back to the airport to give me more time in town. read more

I rode from Newark to Grand Central Station (and took the metro the rest of the way) for 16.50 and rode from the financial district to newark for 20 in a shared shuttle bus. Price is very affordable considering I didn't have to lug my heavier-than-when-I-arrived luggage on the way to the airport. The online booking is pretty simple, although they offer pick up times based in your flight departure time, so if you want to leave a bit later you need to choose a later departure time than your actual one. The driver comes into the lobby to look for you and loads your luggage for you. Although he was late, I was able to get a service update via supershuttles automated customer service line. The driver even personally called me back to apologize, explain why he was late due to traffic, and confirm his late arrival. His driving was super fast but kinda scary, with more than a few jerks here and there and really tailgating people at points and cutting others off to switch lanes. Ride was only 35 mins though - record speed! Was kinda nauseating but for the price it's the most value. A smoother and more comfy ride in a taxi-limo would cost upwards of 80-100 one way. A friendly and fast, but kinda crazy and stressful ride, with high value! read more

OMG...they deserve NO STARS! Awful, awful, awful! I booked a round-trip journey from JFK to the cruise terminal in Manhattan, online. I won't bore you with the details, but overall, the wait times were much longer than expected, they will not run the vans with less than 10 people, so if you have to wait, you have to wait. The drivers were rude, the vans are in really bad disrepair (our bench seat was unbolted on one side and flipped up) and the overall organization of the company is beyond awful. I've used Super Shuttle in other markets, and have always been happy with it for the most part. In New York, it's a joke. In the 2 1/2 hours I was at the cruise terminal waiting for a pick up, only 3 vans came by and one of them left empty, telling us other vans would be by shortly. Terrible experience. I booked super shuttle as I thought it would be faster than the subway, but it took longer! I pre-booked online, brought only carry on, and the flight landed 10 mins early. So i thought a shuttle would be there shortly. First inconvenience is you need to physically get to the ground transportation center and call them with their courtesy phones in order to get on the queue (in JFK T4 it can be a 15 min walk). Uber/lyft on the other hand you can call on your walk through the terminal. After waiting for 25 mins for the van, it took another 35 mins for the driver to circle to all the other terminals to fill up the van. All in all it took 2 hrs after I called them to get to manhattan, longer than if I took LIRR or even the subway read more

I added the $35 Super Shuttle through SWVacations.com while purchasing my plane tickets and hotel package. What they don't tell you, or even hint at, until after you have paid for the service, is the time table they want to shuttle you around in. My plane was late arriving in NYC, so I got past the luggage pickup just in time to see them drive off. I called and had to wait another 40 minutes for pickup. The driver was friendly, the shuttle was 'fairly' clean, and knowing traffic in NYC I know he was taking us all around in a very efficient manner. For the return flight (and this was the proverbial straw on my camel's back), they wanted to pick me up FOUR hours ahead of my 10:30 am boarding time. When I called about it, they said I wasn't accounting for NYC traffic from Times Square to LaGuardia. I'm no dummy, and didn't really appreciate being dismissed as such. I took a regular ol' Yellow Cab to the airport and it took about 30 minutes. No more shuttles, Super or otherwise, for me ever again. read more
