Ive used Super Shuttle a lot and they've been late enough times picking me up or getting me to airport w under an hour for me to check in, drop bags, etc that I would HIGHLY recommend to everyone to take an Uber or Lyft. The last time i tried using their execu-car service, their dispatcher re-routed my driver to do another airpot run to a different airport putting my driver in direct conflict w my pre agreed upon pick up time to the point where he was going to be almost 30 min late picking me up. Never again. read more

I'm so disappointed with this company. My husband made a reservation for a private driver when I was coming to DC alone. I had the app on my phone and felt comfortable knowing who my driver was and what kind of car. My driver called while I was at baggage claim. All seemed good but when I got outside 2 minutes BEFORE my scheduled pick up time, no driver. I texted and called. No answer. I called again, the driver, Mike, said he'd picked up another passenger instead but another driver would be there shortly. An hour later, I got a call saying it would be another 20 minutes. I ended up taking one of the waiting taxi cabs instead. My family came out 10 days later, they also arrived to no driver. I'll never use this company again! Only 1 star because there isn't a lower rating. read more

If I could give this company no stars ... I would! They contacted me and my family 3 hrs before our transport, to tell us that the driver called out and they didn't have a replacement. We could request a full refund. We are a family of 10! We had to scramble to find a ride that would fit us. When we try to call no one would answer! DONT NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

Beware of their drivers' scam! Never ever ever ever again. Even if I am attacked by zombies! Took a shuttle as the last resort from the Dulles airport a few weeks back. Exhausted and sore after an 11 hour transatlantic flight I arrived fully sure I can find an uber. None, for whatever reason. I checked the taxi stand - also none! Should have still waited for that uber instead of choosing the disaster that followed... While outside trying uber for another time a Super Shuttle driver came by and asked if I needed transport. I said yeah, doesn't seem I will have other options. I started walking inside when he caught up with me and said he is going into DC now and I actually can pay on the shuttle - ok, great. Got in, paid, gave the address. Sat through 2+ hours glued to my seat, just to be dropped off second to last - but oh well, I got what I paid for. Then I realized I forgot my jacket and gloves inside - damn. What followed was 6 calls to their customer service and lost and found all over the DMV area, with no result (they kept bouncing me back and forth between offices and their VA office just drops the call, there is not even an option to talk to a rep). After I spoke to a human being 3 or 4 times, they told me there was absolutely no record of me ever taking the shuttle or shuttle going to my address. Desperately I tried the stand at the Dulles two weeks later, while flying out for another trip. The manager was just laughing at me - only then I realized I was scammed because the driver never gave me a receipt! So basically with no record of me there was no chance they will ever find my stuff. And the driver certain to take my money would never turn it in not to be caught. But what surprised me the most was the attitude. No sympathy, no apology, no promise to train their staff - nothing. Even though I told him the entire route and named 3 other stops we made on the way he kept saying there is no way to locate the van or driver. Plus he kept stating that it was my fault! Shouldn't have paid, shouldn't have forgotten my stuff. No SH*T Sherlock! But thank you for the invaluable lesson learned. Will never ride this shuttle again! UPD: what's the point for business owner to comment on my post and suggest I email their customer service to resolve?? So I did - a week later and no response. Not even an acknowledgement that they received it. read more

Well this company used to be pretty good and is now a disgrace. No showed for the meet and greet service for 2.5 hours, for a 16 year old kid who is traveling from a foreign country! It turns out these 'professional' drivers they tout are just contract drivers. So it's uber or Lyft, basically at 2x to 3x the price, and about 1/3 the service quality. So the company is effectively no longer SuperShuttle, just an incredibly incompetent dispatch service. One of the worst airport services I've encountered and these days that is quite a feat. read more

Dear Mr. Supershuttle Man: The fact that my apartment is your last stop (because apparently Alexandria, Bethesda, Arlington, Ballston, and Tenleytown are all on the way to Chinatown) does not give you the right to, when I am the only passenger left, inform me that you are glad everyone's gone because you "had mexican for lunch." Nor does it give you the right to share this with my other senses. Being carsick as I am from your illegal driving maneuvers, and given the fact that my plane landed at 10:00 p.m. and it is now 3:00 a.m., I am simply not in the mood. Thanks anyways, R read more

I agree with Amanda, they didn't forget me and I didn't miss my flight and that's pretty much where the positives end. The driver was on the phone and texting the whole time and really didn't seem to be paying attention to the road or what his little GPS was telling him to do. It also smelled strongly of alcohol in the van, could have been the guy sitting in front of me but with the way the driver was operating that vehicle who knows... There were several times where he wasn't even on the right side of the road! Super Shuttle is only about $20 cheaper than a car service and totally NOT WORTH IT! Took almost 3 times longer than normal to get to the airport and the whole time I was so nervous I probably took 10 years off my life. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Ok, the Super Shuttle completely sucks. I'm almost motivated to not waste the efforts and the skin cells on the ends of my typing fingers to bash them. But what fun would that be? I came into DCA after being delayed from a return flight from Vegas. As if I hadn't been kicked enough - the craps table robbed me, my flight was delayed, I watched a belligerent lady singlehandedly delay our already late flight by smacking the Continental counter supervisor upside the head and get dragged off by Clark County Sheriffs, and then be told that they would fly me into DCA since my delayed flight missed my connection to IAD and give me the magic golden ticket to the Super Sh!#&@le (note the eight characters and do the math on how I REALLY feel). When I arrived, the driver picked us up and filled the van. He had no clue where the hell he was going in DC and I ended up having to tell him repeatedly, "ignore that damn navigator - you keep changing the order of the itinerary so it's having us drive a circle around DC rather than a straight line!!!!". It was only because the other passengers were telling the driver, "hey man, he's from here and he seems to know where he's going and you don't!" that caused the driver to grudgingly acquiesce and follow my driving directions. Total time to disembark the passengers after defeating the driver's ego? 1 hour and 45 minutes. I ended up missing a meeting at work (I took the red-eye out so I could make it and not use PTO) and then going home irritated. Never again - I'd rather pay the Washington Flyer cab $40 or take a metro. read more

It's $30 cheaper for two people than taking an uber to BWI said this reviewer, in search of a few pennies to pinch. Signing up online takes a bit... but no worries. They default time is the latest one available, and seems like there will be plenty of time. Two days later, we are down in the hotel lobby for our 15 minute window in which they will arrive. Nothing. I pop into the bitter cold to look around the 4:30 AM empty streets. Nada. 5 minutes past. Nothing. Did they forget about us? I called and they proudly report the driver is less than half a mile away and should be there any minute. 10 minutes past. Still nothing. 15 minutes past. Nope. Another call in and a different person tells me not to worry, the driver is less than half a mile away. 20 minutes past, the driver finally arrives with some vanquished takeout, an aloof attitude, an overpowering air freshener... and we are the first ones of a full bus to be picked up. In the end, thanks to a little airport jogging we still made the flight. This earns them one extra star for getting the job done. In summary, your blood pressure rises a notch for every dollar you save. Look elsewhere. Beg friends. Do whatever you can to avoid this company. read more

No. No. No. Why didn't read these reviews before booking the shuttle? Work travel, used it from IAD to NW D.C. and back. I wont bore you with the details of my travel. But, I will say: 1. service - horrible 2. drivers - rude, didn't know where they were going, rerouted us several times during the ride 3. We hit a parked car, and kept driving 4. When I gasped as we cut in front of a car on 495 (the car subsequently pulled off to the side of the road), the driver looked back at me and said "do you have have a problem?" 5. on my trip back to the airport, I had no idea if I would make it in time. I asked when the estimated arrival time would be, and the driver said "you'll get there when you get there" 6. The van (again, heading back to the airport) was low on fuel - the LOW FUEL light was blinking when I got into van (meaning, the van has been on empty for a while, it needs refueled) and we drove around for at least 1.5 hours after that point. I thought we were going to run out of gas. I actually considered asking the driver to pull over (not sure sure if they even would have) so that i could get a private taxi. Never again. I'm actually calling them right now to demand a refund. I'll let you know how that works out. read more

I hope to never use Super Shuttle again. -a star for unfriendly staff -a star for shutting the door on the elderly woman sitting next to me, without warning. It scared the crap out of her and me and luckily he didn't shut her hand in the door. Is it so hard to give an "everybody in?"? -2 stars for our driver texting while driving. A different driver on our way back, also texted. Dangerous. We did get there in a timely fashion and we made it alive but drivers should never text! read more

The plane was delayed, so they said they couldn't wait and took off with my prepaid fare and required tip. So I had to pay again for a taxi.

Wow, my first 1 star review. I am going to agree with every single other review here and tell you to stay as far away as humanly possible from Super Shuttle. I only attempted to take Super Shuttle once. They forgot me. I took a cab to the airport, checked in and was sitting at the gate when my cell phone rang and they asked me where I was. When I told them that I had waited 45min after my pick up time and when they didn't show, I grabbed a cab, the dude actually got mad at me and told me that I should have called them to cancel. Yeah right... Had I still been at home, I would have long missed my flight. I felt sorry for everyone else on that bus. I have realized that there is no reason to take this shuttle. Think about it. It makes so many stops before you actually get to the airport that you have to get on the shuttle about 5 hours before your flight. And this wonderful service isn't cheap. My shuttle was going to cost me $28. The taxi ride cost me $40. You know what, for those extra $12, I will gladly sit at home and chill out. read more

First time booking Super Shuttle pick up from the airport; I have booked them for drop off at the airport. I arrived at 9:55pm DCA and walk out to the designated spot. Only one van filled with people so the guy told the another rep. He would be back. NO WAY was I about to wait an hour+ when I made a reservation for 9:55pm. How does that work?? So I called the 1-800 number to cancel. Thank God they refunded me so I could just get an Uber; same price too and a private car ride!! I don't know how this Super Shuttle is still in business with all the options there are and more convenient options. I will never be doing that ever again! read more

SuperShuttle -- A Super Disaster! SuperShuttle was a total disaster! We prepaid for transportation for 3 from Dulles airport in Washington D.C,, arriving at night from a cross-country flight. We followed the app instructions and it indicated something like 'locating a vehicle'. We called and spoke to a SuperShuttle representative multiple times for updates. We were finally informed that they had NO VEHICLES available. When asked, 'so you are leaving us STRANDED?' the rep replied 'Yes'. Super Shuttle misrepresented a Shuttle service, which provided no service. Do not expect the service from this UNRELIABLE company. They did not care that we were left stranded and simply offered a refund. There should be a rating lower than a single star! Aletha Kalish with David Kalish and Joan Green read more

Claudia, here is the review of Super Shuttle I promised I would post for taking almost 1 month to process a $26.00 refund. Your apology is accepted. My wife and I returned from Mexico on July 9th, 2014 and paid Super Shuttle $26.00 to drive us home. After waiting for over a half hour we asked to cancel our trip and for a refund. The attendant expalined she could not process our refund but that if we called the 1-800 number they would take care of the refund right away. That was nearly 4 weeks ago. It's now the end of July and they still have not processed the refund and are claiming they are "very backed up," and that they need a scanned copy of the void slip to process the refund. Mind you, it took less than 5 seconds to swipe the credit card. This company is dishonest and not worth dealing with. Traveler BEWARE. read more

The only reason to use SuperShuttle is if you do not have a smartphone and therefore cannot Uber. It will only cost $5-10 more unless you hit peak demand times, and you will not have to wait for them, whether leaving from the airport or getting a pickup. If you're getting a pickup, Uber will actually show up near its ETA, rather than SuperShuttle, which seems to miss its pickup window more often than not (I've been concerned for making my flight before after arranging a WAY early pickup window). Once, SuperShuttle up and cancelled on me in the wee hours of the morning and told me to call a cab. They reimbursed me for the cab but it was a mess to deal with because I had put the initial charge on my corporate card. Also, you will not have to wait through everyone else getting picked up and dropped off. Straight to or from the airport! Tip: If you're taking Uber home from Dulles go to the departures level. Due to the monopoly of the other ground transportation carriers they are not allowed to pick up at arrivals. read more

Last night I arrived at Washington National Airport around 10:00pm, and got my bags a little later. At about 10:25, I went to the Supershuttle desk (I'd prepaid online, and this was the second half of my round-trip reservation). I was given number 862, and told a driver would be on the way. After a brief wait, I was amazed to hear a Supershuttle driver named FELIX refuse to take me to my home after he was assigned. When the dispatcher tried to reason with him, he went behind her desk, looked at my address, and again refused, opting instead to take other riders downtown. I asked the dispatcher if I'd correctly heard a driver refuse to take me after being assigned; she assured me that "that's not how we do things." Then, she took me to the next desk, "B" station. When she explained I needed a ride, I overheard the other dispatcher confirm the exact opposite of her assurances to me: how drivers often refused to take customers into SE because they didn't like the neighborhood. She finally got a driver named Hassan to take me. I waited an hour for a ride that took around 15 minutes. As soon as I'd overheard Felix refuse to take me, I made sure to take pictures of him as he stood DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME, gathering patrons to go downtown because he thought he was too good to go to my neighborhood. I've made sure to post it on my social media sites, and told my friends and followers to pass the word around. Black travelers have to deal with this with taxi drivers; to know that I have to deal with it at Supershuttle also is the worst kind of insult. read more

Appallingly bad service, and dangerous too because the drivers work on extremely long shifts - so they are often working while unalert. On my last trip from Dulles to downtown: 1) the passengers were assigned to the 4 waiting vans in a completely random pattern (I verified this by check in the other vans), so that each van had to drive all over the place to drop off each person; 2) the driver complained endlessly about how he shouldn't be doing this run, since he's been working since 5:30 this morning (it was past 9, so this was a 13+ hour shift). I would strongly urge people to avoid using this service - pool together with other passengers, call a taxi to pick you up if you can. read more

Do not use this company!!! They left us stranded at the airport with two babies and when I called to see where they were, they said "sorry, we'll give you a refund" with absolutely no help in trying to get a shuttle to us. This is after I booked and paid for it 2 weeks in advance, called and confirmed the night before, called and re-confirmed the day of our flight. Rude customer service, no help, and obviously terrible service because they didn't even show up! read more

Am I the only one not having problems with this service? After reading the last few reviews and the horror stories perhaps my experience is an exception rather than the rule.... Once again, I had no troubles going to the airport with supershuttle. I received an automated voice message stating the location of the shuttle once it got in proximity (3 miles) of my residence, and the shuttle came right on time. The shuttle was new & clean, the driver helped load my luggage onto the van, and he drove safely to the airport. I honestly don't know what more to expect. I give a 5* for the ride to the airport. However, the ride back home was a bit longer. After arriving from overseas, I booked a van for a trip up to MD around 1pm on a weekday. I sat in the van for about 25 minutes while Supershuttle tried to squeeze additional passengers coming into Dulles. In the end, another passenger and I were the only ones in the van. Based on some of the reviews, I guess I should be thankful that I got back home relatively quickly. For the other passengers who gave negative reviews, I sympathize with you. If I had to guess, the time of day may have something to do with the delays in the shuttle leaving the airport (maybe they hold out in the late afternoon and night more b/c more flights arrive then). Perhaps it's best to use Supershuttle when heading to the airport. After all, once the shuttle is in motion, you are not wasting time b/c it's going to pick passengers up or head to the airport. I'll give the benefit of the doubt to the company and I'll continue to keep an eye out to make sure my experiences are the norm rather than the exception. read more

I booked a shuttle to pick me up at 3:44-3:59 AM for transit to Reagan Airport (DCA). I would've taken a metro but my flight was at 6:10 AM, so I had to be at the airport around the time the metro first started running. After getting high taxi quote ($90!) for my fiancee and I, we turned to SuperShuttle. A quick glance at Yelp seemed to indicate that a lot of people simply don't understand how ridesharing works, and were simply disappointed due to unrealistic expectations... so we booked. Later, I double checked Yelp and started to find a number of reviews that were negative for some disturbing reasons (vans not showing up at all, no refunds, etc). I dug a little deeper and found a news article from August 2011 detailing the death of a SuperShuttle DC passenger and hospitalization of his fellow passengers due to a driver that had apparently had multiple incidents and no license. This all began to make me extremely worried. The night before I was to be picked up, I was prepared to cancel the whole thing, but my fiancee persuaded me to give SuperShuttle DC a chance. And I'm glad I did. The web-based van-tracker worked perfectly. Within the 2 hrs prior to pick up I was able to track our van everywhere it went. I saw on the map as it traveled past our location, only to (I'm assuming) pick up another passenger (the only other on our trip). Once it turned around and began heading back in our (and the airport's) direction, we received an automated phone call from the dispatch that our van was approximately 8 min away and that we should be ready to be picked up. Almost exactly 8 min later, the van was there. Our driver was courteous and drove safely, safer than I'd probably drive. All in all, my worries were all for naught. I'm sure that SuperShuttle deserves the poor ratings that it's been given by other passengers, but I'm sure that SuperShuttle DC has even more satisfied passengers that simply don't care to review them and share their experience. After all, at its best, this service is simply a short means to an end. It's not meant to be glamorous like limousine services, nor is it as indulgent and personal as eating a meal at a restaurant, so the likelihood of someone reviewing the place after a decent experience is pretty low. Take that into account the next time you need an easy lift to the airport. read more

I find Super Shuttle a quaint artifact in the era of Uber and Lyft. It comes at arbitrary times (mine arrived 15 minute BEFORE the beginning of the confirmed 15 minute slot - but hey, at least the driver had the courtesy to call me at 1am to confirm) yet does not provide a meaningful savings ($29 per passenger to airport vs $34-39 for Uber; if you have a party of two or more, Uber is a no-brainer). At least, SuperShuttle's policy is liberal enough that the lady sitting next to me had a cat sitting in her lap. There are worse ways to start your day than hearing car sick feline growling. read more

This is a review of the more expensive, but ALWAYS reliable Execucar service. It's cheaper than paying for parking for a week at DCA and more reliable than flagging down or even sometimes reserving with a regular taxi. For me it's even cheaper than using the Uber app. The van service I will never use again. I usually leave on very early flights about 6 am. I live 15 minutes from the airport when I'm leaving that early. I don't want to leave for a 6 AM flight at 3 in the morning so that I can drive around and wait for 5 other people to cram into a van. Personally, I'd rather still be in bed and have the car service pick me up at a more reasonable hour. read more

I tend to catch Super Shuttle to and from DCA. The good news for Super Shuttle is that my pick-ups have usually gone very well. For pick-ups shuttles have always been on-time if not early. The problem is the return ride from the airport back to my house. Despite always making reservations for the return, I'm typically in for a long wait. For my last trip not only was the wait long but they did not provide a place to sit and said if you did not remain in the area to hear when you are called then they can't guarantee the shuttle won't leave without you. After my 30-40 minute wait (standing) they put me on a van, which drove me out of the airport to the freeway then said they want to turn around and return the airport to go back and get another passenger. This seemed so unreal that I didn't even believe the driver and asked to talk to a dispatcher or management. He refused to let me talk to anyone the whole thing seemed fishy. I lost my cool with the driver and also had choice words with the supervisor upon to return to airport. I would love to never use Super Shuttle again after this event but it still seems to be the most economical way for me to get the airport. Geeish I feel helpless. read more

Two stars because we got there - eventually. Seriously you're better off paying for a cab or walking. I decided to give them another chance and not only they are already one hour late, I just got a phone call saying that I should take a cab cuz the shuttle will not be arriving at my place. They have a monopoly in this area. They are literally the only door to door shuttle service. There are others hanging around the airport trying to get your business. I wouldn't recommend them as they actually charge more. At the Dulles airport, there's a recording that states not to accept any offers other than their approved carriers such as Washington Flyer and SuperShuttle. One reason is because they're probably not licensed and are preying on unsuspecting passengers and ripping them off in the process. I will not use SuperShit again due to a horrible experience. One of their drivers attempted to charge me for having a pet and stated no pets were allowed. I've used them before in the past (on both the east and west coast) and this was the first time it was brought up. I talked to a customer service rep who backed me up and said the driver was at fault. Their policy allows dogs. A complaint was filed against the driver and the charge was credited back to my card. In the future, I will be giving my business to a taxi if these guys are the only game in town. read more

The super shuttle in the DC area makes the one in the SF Bay Area look competent. I booked the shuttle going both ways and was disappointed in both trips. On the ride from the airport, even though I had a reservation I had to fill out a paper slip (due to their computer system going down), this is not the end of the world, but at 12:20 am after a long day, I have a lot less patience than normal. The guy at the counter had absolutely no clue how to coordinate people and so when I asked him how long until my van would be ready he completely dodged my question and told me to go sit down. When he did finally tell me which van was mine, I proceeded to wait outside my van until the driver showed up. Once I got into the van we waited another 30+ minutes for another passenger but the driver wouldn't tell us what we were waiting for. I ended up getting to my hotel around 1:45 am. For the return trip the driver showed up 35 minutes early, which isn't the end of the world, but if they give you pickup windows, the should stick to them. I had to leave my meeting early as to not inconvenience the driver. This is really poor business management and I won't be using this service again. read more

Absolutely unreliable and potentially unsafe. A few years back, my girlfriend and I arrived at Dulles and had arranged for Super Shuttle to drive us home to Rockville. The entire trip along the toll road, and around the beltway, the van would gradually slow down to about 30 MPH, then quickly speed up to about 60, then slow down to 30, then speed up to 60,... over and over, all with the driver slouching in his seat, and occasionally reaching with his right hand into a bag of candy on the floor next to the center console, so he could shove a piece of candy in his mouth when he woke up. He didn't appear to be weaving, or leaving his lane, and my girlfriend and I were too stunned to say anything. When we made it home, we called and reported the driver. On another occasion, I arranged to have Super Shuttle pick me up in front of my girlfriend's house in Takoma Park, MD to take me to National Airport for an afternoon flight. Factoring in time to check-in, plus driving time and possible traffic problems I scheduled them for 3 hours before departure. 2 hours before departure, the van hadn't showed, so I had to let myself into my girlfriend's house to call them, and was told there would be no van coming. No explanation, no apologies. I ended up having to call for a cab, wait for it to show up and have them take me to an ATM so I'd have cash to pay for the ride. I got to the airport just in time, thanks to the taxi cab driver. I contacted them when I returned, and wrote them a letter, but was told that a 'reservation' with Super Shuttle doesn't actually guarantee they will pick you up at all. It's very much a gamble booking with these clowns. If you're OK with potentially missing a flight, or riding in a van driven by either a drunk or a narcoleptic, go for it. There IS a reason they currently have only 1.5 stars. read more

Why in the hell would anyone EVER take Super Shuttle. They take an average of 3 hours to get you home. I only take it when it is the only way I can get home from the airport. They also trick you and won't give you refunds. I was getting on late one night at Dulles and they took a woman's money and then told her she would be last in a van full of 15 people to be dropped off. It was already 1 am so we're talking about 3:30 am at least. She said she wanted her money back and they told her she had to call the company and deal with them about the refund. They were incredibly rude to her and she had to pay a cab to get home instead. What a racket! read more

I think everyone else has covered it pretty well, but the service is terrible. We got to and from the airport in one piece, no thanks to drivers who: 1) Talk on the cell phone and drive at the same time 2) Drive with one hand 3) Weave in and out of their lane because they're driving with one hand 4) Take you to the wrong place because they don't know where they're going 5) Drive the wrong way on a one-way street (divided residential street) 6) Make you leave early because "the airport is crazy today" - well, it wasn't! The desk staff at Dulles was especially difficult to understand. They told me to find my shuttle outside. Well, it was no where near the door! Here's a tip: turn right and walk down a ways and you'll see the shuttles there. How convenient! BTW, one of the shuttles we rode in smelled of cigarette smoke even though it's supposed to be non-smoking. If you want a transportation service that gets you where you need to go eventually in an unsafe manner, take the Stupid Shuttle! read more

Worst service ever!!! Do NOT use them unless you want to flush time, money and your sanity down the toilet. We made a reservation 9 days in advance. We arrived at Dulles at 12:28 am with our 4 kids under the age of 10 expecting to have a shuttle waiting because we had reserved and told them our timing 9 days ahead of time!!! The guy at the counter was actually calling drivers and getting them out of bed...with no luck!!! No drivers, no vans...how do you operate a business like this?!? I called corporate...no apologies from the reps there and my calls were repeatedly dropped. Seriously?!?! No apologies?!?! This is nuts. So we went to their next door neighbor, supreme shuttle- who had drivers and 5 vans waiting. Then the super shuttle rep had the gall to get mad at supreme for stealing his business. SuperShuttle should NOT let drivers Text and make phone calls while driving! Very dangerous for everyone. Lots of bad reviews here, so I figured I'd throw in my two cents. I have used Super Shuttle's ride sharing for years, and have never had a problem. After reading some of these reviews, I'm knocking wood, crossing my fingers, and rubbing my rabbit's foot as I write this, so as not to jinx myself. The downside to ride sharing in a metropolitan area is that, if you fly as most do in the morning or evening, you'll hit traffic. Add to the fact that you'll be stopping along the way to pick others up, and you have a recipe for being late. Because of this, of the four fifteen-minute windows they offer, I always pick the earliest or second-earliest pickup times. Is your flight really worth the extra half hour of time you'd save by getting picked up later? I still always show up with plenty of time to spare, but so what? I never have to sprint through the airport on the verge of a cardiac episode this way. My drivers have always been either on-time in the designated window or early. Recently, it seems like they've been aiming for five to ten minutes early, so please, for the sake of your fellow passengers, don't plan on waking up at the same time as your scheduled pickup! And sure, sometimes the drivers don't like to chat, and sometimes, they drive a little erratic. But they get me there on time, which is what matters. I don't need a new best friend at five in the morning. Super Shuttle's ride sharing is not for people who urgently need to get to an airport in a short amount of time. For those, hire a personal driver or drive yourself. read more

I have taken Super Shuttle many times at various airports including LAX as I travel frequently for conferences. I never had any major issues at other locations, but my experience with the Super Shuttle at Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington DC was one of the worst. First, the ticketing agent (I won't mention the guys name) at the counter asked me for my name when I was paying for the shuttle. So I gave him my last name then my first name, and he says "oh~ you have an American name" yes because I am American! Then, he sees the Asian customer behind me and assumes we are together... Totally inappropriate! Then, after waiting 40 minutes, I ask the agent for eta of the shuttle and he says there's lots of traffic and are running late. So I wait another 30 minutes and ask again to be told the shuttle has entered the airport... I don't understand how with all the traffic, the shuttle company next to the Super Shuttle had so many of their Shuttles come and go... One lady next me even said to them, "you guys need more Shuttles" and the same ticketing agent got so defensive and replied "oh we have more than enough Shuttles." Really... Then what's the problem? Then after waiting over another 20 minutes, the shuttle finally picks me up. After another 1 hr 20 minute ride from the airport and 4other drop offs on the way, I finally arrived at my hotel. Sorry to say, I don't think I will ever utilize this company again... read more

I have used Supershuttle in the past at different airports. I had my worst experience at the Dulles Washington Airport this week (04/27/2015). I was flying in from Barbados and had a connecting flight at JFK. Called Supershuttle and was informed they'd have several vans past midnight. I landed at IAD at midnight and went to their manager (The only African Man that was running the counter past midnight) only to be told I had to wait 20 minutes before I could be assigned a van. 40 minutes later, I was still waiting. 60 minutes later, I was finally assigned a van to Takoma Park, MD. Apparently all the available vans available earlier were heading to DC. News flash, Takoma Park is on the edge of DC. Do your job or quit! After getting into the van and exiting the airport, the driver is called back to pick up another passenger. I was so enervated. I had been flying for 12 hours and to cap it off with this awful service, I had no energy left. I got home 2 hours after landing at IAD. You clearly lost my business. read more

Supershuttle in the DC area is consistently terrible. I should have learned my lesson from last time. I am currently sitting in a shuttle that circled back to my starting point 60 minutes after I boarded, only now just stating to go to the airport. ANY OTHER OPTION IS PREFERABLE. Find someone to share a cab with. I really never complain, but I think they take advantage of unsuspecting tourists. Given the bad service I don't think they'd be able to stay in business with the reputation they would develop with local customers. read more

Ugh. All in all, a pretty bad experience - From the time I got to the shuttle stop, it took me over THREE HOURS to get from the airport to my hotel - good thing I wasn't on a schedule that day. At least an hour of it was getting out of the airport... first it wasn't made clear that I had to call for the shuttle inside the terminal - it said I had a reservation at a specific time. When nothing came for me after 15 minutes I called, and that's when they told me I had to go inside and tell them to pick me up, despite my reservation. Couldn't do it with the dispatcher over the phone though, I had to lug all my bags inside to the terminal to find the booth. When they finally picked me up and got me on board, I sat in the van for over 20 minutes while the driver vanished. I was the only passenger, I have no idea what was going on and was never given an explanation. I am supposed to take the super shuttle TO the airport tomorrow, but I have no confidence they will get me there in time for my flight. I'm going to blow them off and take a cab. read more
