My first problem concerns my ride to the airport. I had to spend an additional 45 minutes picking up passengers out of the way and got to the airport way way early. The driver was scaring me with his speeding. Then, after an 11 hour international flight, I had booked online a ride and came out into the new area at IAD (in the hot sun not inside) and it was mass chaos. They kept saying someone is coming for 30 minutes (I had booked a direct ride with 1-3 passengers). When the driver finally arrived, he was rude and gave up the ride to another guy who was courteous, smart, efficient. Really, Uber is going to put you out of business if you don't get more organized at Dulles airport. And improve your customer service! You are not doctors...we shouldn't have to wait in the hot sun for a paid reservation!!! read more

I use supershuttle all the time. It's a 50/50 luck of the draw. Here in VA, I got okay service, with an okay driver, with an okay charge. Nothing really popped out at me making me want to write a rave review or a bad one. read more

SuperShuttle picked me up at 5:20am for an 8:30am flight. They called the day before to remind me, called 10min. before shuttle arrival, and were clean, quick, and comfortable. Driver not overly talkative, but few would be at 5:30am. Dropped off right at terminal, picked up 2 other passengers. Worth $34 so that my family didn't have to wake up super early. read more

I'll be glad when DC Metro makes it to the airport so that there is meaningful competition for connections to the District. Another mid-evening arrival, another instance of first on (I was the sole passenger for about 15 minutes while SS tried to find enough to make the ride worthwhile). And then I was the last one off, after a stupid detour to Alexandria (and the driver had the wrong location, so another 10-15 minutes of worthless driving) Somehow I always manage to be the last or almost last to be let off. Don't know why SS can't have vans that go directly to the District instead of vast wanderings to the 'burbs. One star added since all of my trips have had safe drivers. EditL I appreciate that Supershuttle has someone monitoring these reviews. It's a positive sign when a company pays attention. However, the only resolution suggested here is another review on the company internal site. I'd suggest that an effective response to a critical review is to initiate some sort of system wide review of the problems disclosed in the many reviews here. They don't, in my opinion, represent a problem with a single driver, but rather a system wide problem that needs to be addressed. read more

Awful experience! I will never use Super Shuttle again. Checked in for a pickup at 4:36pm at BWI to go home and did not leave until 5;20pm. It is 6:30 right now and we have dropped off 2 people before me and I am at least 40 minutes without traffic during rush hour which means that I will not get home till 7:30. 3 hours to get home when I could have been home in 30 minutes driving. Who plans these drop-offs? Ridiculous! No idea how you can put 3 groups that are any further away from each other. Lost a frequent client.. This is a 0 rating, but I had to choose a single star. read more

After waiting over 1 and 1/2 hours for the shuttle to arrive we are upset with the terrible service

I took a super shuttle from IAD to my home which is roughly 30 minutes away. It cost $34 including tip. The driver had a personal conversation on the phone for a large portion of the ride and did not put on the radio. The month prior I took an uber pool from my home to IAD for $22 and an uber pool from IAD to my home for $30. I cannot see how it would be worth it to pay MORE money for a super shuttle when you have to wait forever for departure and then make multiple stops. read more

Don't take this if you care about making your flight. They never came today and my daughter missed her flight. I waited on hold 15 Minutes to get a person who was rude and said they had no idea where the driver was. I was transferred 3 more times and they finally hung up. I did manage to get my money back. Incompetent and stress-inducing. Forget them. read more

They failed to pick me up because the driver was asleep (they actually told me that) and the back up driver they sent was so late I missed my flight and I was on my way to a funeral!!! I had to stand by for 3 different flights before I finally got on one. They said they would give me a number for a free ride and they never did. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold and after 10 minutes I was disconnected! Do yourself a favor and call Uber or Lyft but don't use Supershuttle!!!!! read more

Absolutely horrible service. After you make a reservation for a certain time, you will wait at the airport for 30 to 60 minutes at a non-peak time for your shuttle to arrive. The people at the airport check in desk were rude and unwilling to answer any questions. When the shuttle was scheduled to pick me up to return to the airport at a certain time, I received a text message in the middle of the night changing my pick up time despite needing to catch a flight that morning. I was told this was due to a lack of shuttle availability, which I believe is due to lack of planning on the part of SuperShuttle and should not be the fault of a customer. I will absolutely never use the service again and I will use an Uber or Lyft in the future. read more

Needed to take a shuttle bus to the airport. Booked four days in advance. My pick-up slot was at 8:49am. The shuttle didn't arrive at my place until 9:45. Oh yeah, one hour late! I'm glad I planned in advance, and it was on a weekday, so I didn't miss my flight. I called three times during my wait. At 9:10 they were three miles away. At 9:25 they said they were 1 minute away, which was, of course, a lie. At 9:40 they said they were 3 minutes away. When the driver arrived there was no apology no nothing. The saddest part is, I prepaid my tips. So there is the lesson. I wouldn't take supershuttle ever again, if I have another choice. read more

Despite the reviews and my personal hesitation, I decided to give super shuttle a try. I made my shuttle reservation online the night before my flight. I liked the prepay tip option as well. I had an early morning flight and needed to get from Woodley Park to Reagan airport. The shuttle came when expected, right on time at 5:30am. They called about 5 min before to alert me that they would be arriving soon. I was the first passenger on, and we made two more quick stops nearby and then hit the highway. From the reviews, I was nervous about the timeliness and about the driver's driving ability. I get car sick easily so I had that on my mind too. However, it was all smooth sailing. My driver was young, probably in his late 20s or 30s and he drove just fine, not too fast, not too slow. We arrived at the airport in no time. I had plenty of time to spare to get thru security and settled at the gate. Super Shuttle was convenient door-to-door service - no rush, no fuss - super simple and easy. You can't beat the price! I would absolutely use them again and would tell friends to give them a try too. read more

Good, dependable service. Friendly driver and they always get you to the airport in good time. Reasonable rates.

No problems to mention. Arrived on time and departed on time. Van driver on both trips were professional and gave great customer service. Would use this service again when in DC area. read more

SuperShuttle of Washington, DC, is the best way to go round trip from the airports here. My drivers have always been professional, courteous, and friendly. Pick up times are honored and routing among multiple passengers works well to get you where you need to be on time and without injury! Love SuperShuttle. read more

My super shuttle experience was great. The driver Julio was professional and courteous. He was a few minutes early and he drove us to Dulles airport expertly. Super shuttle is the only way to go when you need a lift to the airport. read more

I guess trouble on the way to the airport and an easy trip home averages to three stars. I'm a long time SuperShuttle customer, but new to using it in the DC area. I've always used them for the considerable cost savings over cab fares. Going to the airport I had the same issue other yelpers report with my driver arriving a full 20 minutes before my scheduled pickup window. I am used to them occasionally arriving 5 minutes early or late on the shared ride service, but 20 minutes early with no advance notice of a time change other than a "your driver is almost here" text message is unacceptable. I had gone to run an errand and almost missed the shuttle. I will probably look for different transportation to the airport next time I travel. Going home on the other hand, was great. I got checked in with my smartphone and it even told me where to find the counter. I had a reasonable wait of maybe 10-15 minutes, got grouped into a van that wasn't too crowded, and the driver was quiet but very courteous and drove well. I guess from now on I only take SuperShuttle home. read more

Ride came early, a plus. Ride was quick and direct. Another plus. Driver was courteous and helpful. Van was a little rattle trap, but worked flawlessly. Cheaper than uber. read more

I booked a pickup for 12 PM but the driver was there at 11:30AM already. He told me that he had informed me by SMS but i didn't get one. However the service is ok and it's a comfortable way to get to Dulles Airport. read more

I made my reservation 3 days before my arrival to Dulles. It took me over 2 hours to get to my destination. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never take Super Shuttle again. What a waste of time!! I understand that it's a shared van but over 2 hours is not acceptable. read more

Going on a half an hour waiting in the lobby for a shuttle. Supposedly it's been sitting at another terminal while their receptionist plays on his iPhone. read more

Very poor service.. made me wait for more than 50 mins. Without giving any updates or information. Rude staff.. they don't know to value their customers. Would surely not recommend to anyone. read more

Great experience. Prompt, safe, and courteous driver. 25% cheaper than what my friend paid for Uber, same pickup and dropoff locations.

Pick up was scheduled between 2:15 - 2:30 pm. Driver left at 2:25 pm and I had to bite the bullet. No refund. Never again will I use this service. read more

It really deserves 0 stars. I had used SuperShuttle before with no issues. This time after getting a text message with an ETA, I waited until 40 minutes after the estimated arrival. I finally couldn't wait any longer and took an Uber to the airport. I couldn't find a phone number anywhere on their website and could only fill out a form to complain about the issue. I got an automated response but have yet to receive any other response other than this initial confirmation. Since getting an Uber was only slightly more expensive than SuperShuttle, I'll be using them for now on. It remains to be seen whether SuperShuttle will refund what I had already paid up front. read more

If I could give negative stars I would!! However I will say DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! I had to call Uber as my shuttle was so late I almost missed my flight....I will tell EVERYONE I KNOW about this horrible approach to customer service and satisfaction...they should be ashamed of themselves and I want a refund!!!! read more

Very user-unfriendly system and customer service. I was told that my picking up time is 8:30-8:50, without telling me that the exact pick up time depends on the driver. Yet the driver arrived at 8:30 and told me that we only have 3 minutes to leave our hotel and get to the shuttle, which made us left the hotel in an extreme rush. The driver called customer service about the issue with me sitting right next to him, I explained the call I made to Super shuttle before and the customer service told me that "I do not apologize for it. Is that all the questions you have?" I have never seen such an aggressive customer service before, however they think their way of picking up is normal, they should have known that different norms exist and certainly shouldn't impose their norm on others, causing them great inconvenience, yet without showing any sign of introspection. read more

I had heard mixed reviews of SuperShuttle, especially when going to the airport. So when I landed from Europe, and had way too much luggage to shelp through the metro system, I decided to give them a try. The clerk at the desk in Dulles seemed bored and disinterested, but I was processed quickly and told to wait. Within 15 minutes, I was in van. Another 10 minutes, and I was on my way. The driver was definitely not paying attention to the road at certain points, and instead was playing with the GPS trying to figure out who to drop off first. The trip, however, went quickly and efficiently. For the price and convience compared to metro and a taxi, I can't really fault them. It was definitely quicker than metro, and probably 30 minutes slower than a cab. They get an extra star for the friendliness of the drivers - as I was trying to find my van, all of the drivers were helpful and kind. It really made the end of my trip more pleasant. My verdict? If you have time and a lot of luggage, its worth a try. But if time is a premium, call a cab. read more

I had the worst experience with SuperShuttle. I came off an 8 hour flight with my four kids in tow and had booked the "meet and greet" SUV service in advance. No meet. No greet. So I proceeded to the front desk where they firmly told me to get in line. 20 minutes later, at the counter, they told me I had waited in the wrong line. Another 10 minutes later a very bored clerk phoned the driver. Then in total about 45 minutes late, the driver casually strolled in, offered no explanation, no apology and looked a bit perplexed when I didn't tip. If the East German ministry of transportation had run a shuttle service. this would have been it. read more

Booked Super Shuttle for a friend coming into DC from Dulles and they were easy for her to find near baggage claim and on time picking her up at the end of her visit. ($31 each way + tip). read more

If your life is worth $40, please avoid Super Shuttle and take the taxi. The only reason to take this is late at night when Metro 5A is not running or the Washington Flyer coach. Then you have to decide between that $60 taxi and the super shuttle. TAKE THE TAXI. Unfortunately this no metro dilemma has happened twice. Late at night. Both times the drivers were awful. In and out of lanes. Staring at the GPS or their big super shuttle screen. Just overall scary rides. The second time was better than the first, because the lady at least knew where she was going. Kinda. read more

I travel a lot and I've used them dozens of times. I've always been happy with their service to the airport, and highly recommend them for that -- just not for rides *from* the airport. I'd rate them a 5 for the first, but only a 1 or 2 for the latter. The drivers are on time and friendly. Dispatch calls with an ETA when they're 5-10 min away. A couple of times when a van was stuck in traffic, they've automatically sent a limo or taxi. You can track yours yourself through their Web site or mobile app. Booking online is easy, and if you do it there you can get frequent flier points. (Only a handful, but if you're in a program where your points expire if there's a lack of activity, it can keep them alive.) From the airport is a different story. A "reservation" is really just pre-paying. You have to wait until one comes along that's heading in your general direction, which is at least 1/2 hour, sometimes an hour+, Once I was told they didn't have my reservation and I'd have to pay again. (They did refund my money the next day.) While my drivers coming in always seemed to know their way around, I've had a couple from the airport who took roundabout routes that turned a 1/2 drive into a full hour. read more

Felt like I needed to write about my experience just to balance out all the complaints I'm seeing...I checked the reviews before booking and I was skeptical of the service to say the least. However, I used Super Shuttle the Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving to get from Arlington to DCA and it was a quick and hassle-free experience. Reserved and paid the night before, used the van locator on my phone the morning of my reservation to track exactly where the van was before it picked me up. They showed up 5 minutes after the 15 minute window I reserved, but the weather was crappy so I can't fault them too much. It was $14 and worth it to take as a safe, affordable, and reliable option to the airport. I took the metro home during the day time so I can't say anything about their service from the airport, but I would use them again for an early flight TO the airport. read more

This shuttle service is a good option for getting to the airport but don't make the mistake of using it to get home from the airport. The booking agents will tell you the wait time is 15-20 minutes, don't believe them, you'll wait at least an hour and they'll load their vans with people going everywhere so that you're not sure what time you'll get home. Do not use them to get home! You're better off on the metro if you can manage it or get an uber for your sanity. read more

Great all around service. pick up was fast, driver was nice and the service is really quick

Supershuttle has always provided me with excellent service with rides to and from the airport in the Washington Dulles area but this last ride on 10-16-15 from IAD to a residence was over the top. I had left my wallet in the Supershuttle Van and the driver drove 20 minutes back to return my wallet. That is first class service. read more

I am comfortable when ever I make arrangements with Super Shuttle.I have recommend it to everyone I know!!!

The ride to the Dulles airport ( pretty far) is worth the pain of riding around because it'll cost just $29 as opposed to $80/$90 in a taxi; but to get a ride home from the airport do yourself a favor and avoid this. It takes way too long, you'll be crammed with a bunch of people going all different places, not worth it. read more

Sitting here in DCA at the SuperShuttle / Supreme counter waiting for my shuttle. These people deserve a raise. Aside from being friendly to their clients, they have people stopping by constantly- asking where to get their rental car, where are the bathrooms, where are the gates, etc. They are so nice to everyone. I've been here about 10 minutes so far- their customer service is amazing! Friendly, fun and nice! What a pleasant surprise!!! read more
