I've been getting my oil changed here for years whenever I don't feel like going to the dealership. My step dad introduced me to this place. My child's father come here as well. I've never had a bad experience but today I came alone. A guy was plowing the snow. I pulled in the right side so I can be in front of the garage door. He got upset and threw his hands up. I said "my bad". He let his window down with the rudest tone and said "atleast pull your car up if u need service. What are u getting" I said "an oil change". He said "well atleast pull up you in my way" I said "why are u so angry this morning if you hate your job the quit " He said "because u pulled in while I was plowing and went over my snow pile" (or something like that) I said "my bad but u don't have to be so upset about it I just wanted to pull in so I'll be closer to the garage doors". He yells out "go somewhr else I'm not doing your oil change IM THE OWNER" I politely said "ok" then rode directly over the snow pile on purpose. in my opinion being the owner he handled this situation all wrong. Being a business owner myself (Avenue grocery mart) I'll never handle any situation like this. I was saddened by his actions and because me and my family have supported this business many years. read more

Had my front brakes recently done at Supermax. Today I had a flat tire and went to put on the spare only to find out that Supermax had not replaced the key for my locking lug nuts so I couldn't remove my front tire. Called Supermax and the guy there said that they had a "shelf" of lug nut keys (apparently this happens often) and they wouldn't be able to find which was mine. Now I need to have Volvo Roadside Assistance TOW my car to Volvo Oak Park to get the wheel off and replace the tire. Such a disappointment from an auto service place I'd previously recommended. read more

I was having problems with my vehicle and I saw their sign posted free estimate. I went in and spoke with the man at the service window. He told me there's like a 90-minute wait. He said there would be a $50 charge for them to look at the brakes and that they would deduct the $50 from the quote if I decided to have the work done. I asked about the free estimate he laughed and said that's just a drawstring. This place is a scam they all about money stay away. You be better off going to Pep Boys read more

This is a great neighborhood auto maintenance shop that doesn't give off the "we're gonna rip you off vibe". This is really unique in the Oak Park area! I've now brought two different cars here for brake pads & rotors, and each time the cost was less than half of what the local Volvo dealer had quoted. And Supermax used OE+ quality parts. They also always offer to show the old parts to give you that little extra peace of mind. I just came back from a visit today. My third car is 50 years old, and was due for an exhaust system replacement. The shop allowed me to bring in my own parts, and provided a very fair quote after putting the car up on the lift. The work done was too notch. If you come early in the morning, it will likely be busy- but they really do get cars in and out very quickly. I swear it's worth the wait! read more

horrible service!!! went in for oil change, paid $74.00 and they left the oil cap off. oil splatter all over my engine and the fumes that came inside my car made me really sick. i had someone else look at my car to discover they left the oil cap off and my engine had oil all over and inside componets. i'll give then 50 negatiive -0's. save your self a headache and money. go somewhere else to have oil change and work done on your car. read more

This place is off da charts!!!! I knew i needed brakes and rotors for my car front/back pulled into shop 30 minutes before closing on a friday.. I always go to this shop because since I started going to them I've always felt they were fair. Plus they always show me the parts they replaced from my car so I can know they did what they said they would do. But my last visit there I was totally impressed. A 85 year old lady was there and she needed a repair that she couldn't afford and I witnessed them do her repair for free. I will always go to this shop for now on because I've never seen that happen at a shop before and it let me know they're not trying to get over on people. read more

I took my car to these ppl for the 3rd time today. The first time it was becuz my radiator went out. They repaired it, the thermostat and gauge for a very decent price. 2wks later i had to take it back becuz the car overheated again. They do good work but they do not check everything. The do a half ass job, instead of checking everything. The guy at the desk has an very disrespectful attitude. If u are a woman don't take ur car there alone. Make sure u have a guy with u beauz they will try to overcharge. I will never go there again. read more

This place is first come, first served. JR allowed me to bring in my own muffler, and they welded it up. They fixed a few other little issues, and I was out in an hour despite the other customers in that day. They even showed me before and after, pointed out that the extra repairs would cost a few extra dollars, and the final bill came in a little less than they originally quoted. Overall, they were good, fast, and cheap. Hard to find! read more

Nice people - good, fast service. I live out of state and was in town for the day and needed quick service to fix my exhaust pipe before I drove back to my home state.
