I used to have my wall to wall carpet cleaned every 6 months (i had many dogs & cats) until i moved to a house with wood floors. I used 15+ different Marin carpet cleaning companies in the 21 yrs that i lived in that house and by far, the best carpet cleaning company i found was Superlative, hands down. Professional, friendly, efficient, arrived on time every time and did an exceptionally good job. The absolute best in Marin. read more

We had a great experience with Superlative Steam Cleaning. We needed a deep clean of the carpet in our finished basement, including a staircase and hallway. Dixie answered the phone and was friendly and helpful, and was able to give me an appointment within a couple of days, and Andrew showed up right on time and got the job done in no time. He was even able to completely remove a big stain left by some previous workmen that we had tried to fix before. The results look great, and the cost was totally reasonable. Would definitely recommend and use again. read more

The only regret I have was not having this service done sooner. The owner is meticulous and great at what he does. He designed his own equipment and perfected his craft. Excellent work! read more

I live in a two-story townhouse. Andrew provided a very fair estimate to steam clean my wall-to-wall carpeting which included: two bedrooms, hallway, staircase and living room. They do a pre-treatment along with the actual steam-cleaning process. The result was better than any carpet steam-cleaning I've had in the past. He's a hard worker. The results were great. Plus, they're eco-friendly. Highly recommend. read more

This is my 2nd time using them to clean my carpets , and once again they did not disappoint!!! Came in and cleaned 4 bedrooms took out some hard old stains !! Nice guy , did an excellent job and moved on to the next job . Will be calling them in 6 months again !! Guaranteed !! Thanks read more

For many years, we've used Andrew and Superlative Steam Cleaning for carpet cleaning, and Andrew just did a terrific upholstery cleaning from a pet problem. He's reliable, hardworking, honest, and fair and gives excellent results, even with challenging stains. On top of all that, he and his receptionist, Dixie, are a pleasure to work with. We enthusiastically recommend Andrew and Superlative Steam Cleaning! read more

Just had our carpets cleaned yesterday by Andrew. He was friendly, polite, efficient. We had a smaller area to be cleaned, just our living room and hallway, and he was done in 45 minutes. Carpets looked excellent! Only two stains were still there (though they definitely looked better than before), which he said he could remove but would need to use harsher chemicals on and didn't recommend doing since we have toddlers. Overall fabulous job and highly recommend! read more

I had not had my carpet cleaned in a very long time. I read reviews and chose Superlative Steam Cleaning. Andrew was efficient. and friendly and the carpet looks so good and feels clean! When I called, Dixie answered my questions and was able to schedule me in a timely manner. Andrew was attentive to detail and made my over 30-year wall-to-wall carpet look at least 20 years younger. I highly recommend them. read more

I needed my carpets cleaned, and needed it done right. I got that with Superlative, and more. Gustavo came out to clean the carpets, and we were immediately impressed with him. He called an hour or so beforehand, and asked if he could start early. Sure enough, he came with his partner early, right when he said he would be there. They got right to work, and were even proactive helping to move a few heavy pieces of furniture that we were going to leave. The job was done quickly and efficiently. The carpet looks great! Shout out to the sweet Superlative receptionist that made scheduling a breeze. We will definitely use Superlative Steam Cleaning for our carpets again! read more

Easy to schedule and great service overall - Andrew got out stains I thought we'd have to live with forever.

Can't say enough good things about Andrew and Superlative Steam Cleaning. We have used them for years for our home. Andrew is always prompt and friendly, he does an exceptional job, and his pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend! read more

Andrew came out a few weeks ago to clean my carpets (I found him on NextDoor then read the reviews here). I have two older dogs who have done a number on my carpets (three story house) and I was ashamed having people over even though I have an expensive Bissell Big Green cleaner (too heavy lugging up the stairs) that I've used four times--it's basically brand new. His aunt took my call; she couldn't have been more pleasant. On the day of the appt, he called to tell me he was running late and showed up 10 minutes later (whatever), we walked through ALL of the problem areas and he got to work. Maybe 2 1/2 hours later, it was all done. Stairs, landings, everything. Places I didn't think would ever be clean again. The carpet feels better and looks amazing. I'm so happy. The best part of all? He's very reasonable and really nice. Plus, he gave me a recommendation for treating stains that I ordered and that really works. I plan to use his services every year going forward. read more

I've had Andrew come and clean my apartment carpets at least four times over the last years. He is so thorough and I am always so happy afterwards. It's like my home gets a facelift. He will clean and clean until all the dirt is out and get spots that you thought you never could. He remains a great service. I recommend him highly! read more

Andrew did a fantastic and thorough job on our very dirty, old carpeting throughout our house. Everything went smoothly from requesting a quote to cleaning our carpeting. Would highly recommend his services and will be using him again in the future! read more

These guys were friendly, had an easy time getting an appointment. They were on time, asked smart questions. Did an excellent job in an efficient manner. Cleaned up nicely and did the job for a couple of $$ less than the estimate. I will use them again. EXCELLENT. read more

I have never posted on Yelp before but these guys made it worth it! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Gustavo was so wonderful and did such an amazing job. It was clear how much he cared about getting our carpets looking clean again. I have lived in this apartment for years with many other young roommates (and a puppy) come in and out, so there was a LOT of damage. But after the cleaning, my carpets literally look like only responsible adults have lived there :P I was really amazed that a service could have 100% FIVE star reviews, but now I know why. read more

New carpet. Red wine. EVERYWHERE. Andrew came out and worked his magic. His office team is incredibly pleasant to work with. Thanks!

Scheduling and communicating was easy.Andrew did a wonderful job, and the price was right. Thank you!

This is the second time I have used these guys and highly recommend them. Andrew is great. Caring, knowledgeable, and honest. Both visits were on time and on budget. His office staff was efficient as well so all in all I'm happy. read more

This is my 3rd time having Superlative come out. I've been using them since 2009. The service is excellent. I can't believe I waited so long to call them again or even bothered looking for other services in the area. Garrett called to say he was running EARLY. he showed up and got right to work. Super sweet guy, was kind to my pets, saw I had the Giants game on and we chatted about that while he took a look at the Armageddon that had occurred on my carpets. So about my carpets. Yeah. So. Little dog. Had trouble housebreaking her when she was a pup. She's almost 5. Finally got things under control and then had emergency back surgery. I live alone. On a 3rd story. So you can imagine...not to mention spills I just couldn't clean up because I couldn't bend over for a few months. It was pretty raunchy in here. Garrett not only got all the stains OUT, but he deodorized them so well. Usually it smells like pee for a few weeks after a carpet cleaning. Not this time. AMAZING. He also gave me a fabulous tip about how easy it would be to replace the carpet pad in my little dog's "favorite area". There are a few spots that have come back up but Garrett & Superlative stand by their work and will come back out to touch them up. But to be totally honest, if you had seen my carpet before you would be in complete shock and awe at how good of a job they did. And the price is just so right. I have a small one bedroom apartment and the cost was $105 for my bedroom and my living room (no hallway). I won't wait this long next time! Superlative is the way to go - fast, friendly, affordable and most important a job WELL DONE! read more

Ok, so, I know that my reviews tend to be pretty extreme: either they are 5 stars, I jump about, waving my arms, and wax poetic over the service I received, or I'm really angry, foaming at the mouth, kicking in chairs and knocking down tables in a restaurant, in a West End town....ok, ok, I won't further quote the Pet Shop Boys, but I hope you get my drift..... I've found another 5 STAR gem, and I'm twittering with excitement to share my find with you: Ok, let's set the scene: it's rainy, cold and damp winter-time in Fairfax. I'm selling my house, which means I trudged in mud, leaves and water from the outside while I moved everything out, and nearly, the kitchen sink. I was the worried homeowner, fretfully drawing my palm to my forehead, wondering if any hero would come and clean the muck out of my carpet....for extra anxiety, my carpets are off white, which all spells opportunity for a villain to take advantage of my frazzled nerves and charge me an arm and leg for carpet cleaning...I could just see the scene.... *cue the dramatic organ music* *Receiving the estimate for her carpet cleaning, the homeowner shrieks dramatically, nearly fainting* Frazzled homeowner: "I can't pay this cleaning bill!" Villain carpet cleaner: *twisting his moustache* "But you must pay this cleaning bill!" Frazzled: "I can't!" Villain: But you must! Frazzled: "I can't! Villain: "But you must!" Andrew Amato & Superlative Steam Cleaning: "I'm the better choice, and my prices are reasonable, so you can be happy and drama-free...I'll help you!" *Handing the poor frazzled homeowner his estimate* Frazzled: *A look of pure happiness and relief beams from her face, as she raises her arms in joy* "Superlative Cleaning...MY HERO!" Andrew Amato and his genius team at Superlative Steam Cleaning, who singlehandedly returned my stained, beaten and bruised creamy white wool carpets to their natural splendor, did so, for an amazing price, AND he didn't take advantage of my frazzled nerves or the fact that I was under a time pressure, as well. He was SO friendly; he patiently listened to all of my concerns, and answered my questions. I was equally impressed about Andrew's knowledge of his business, the best products to use on carpets(especially mine, as I was worried about the white carpet issue), and he's eco-friendly too....don't mistake his "green-ness" to be that he's new to carpet cleaning, au contraire! He's eco-friendly green, and to me and my concern for our planet's health, it's important. I also wanted to add that Andrew also cleaned my beloved hand woven area rug, that our senior golden retriever girl garfed on. After he was done, I didn't realize just HOW dirty that rug was, even before my golden had her accident. The colors in the rug, and the richness in it's texture, was given a new life. The only negative I can add here is that I worry Andrew and his Superlative Cleaning team will be too booked to see me, when I call on him again, to save the day, as it looks like word has already gotten out about his gem of a carpet cleaning company....my loss, but definately YOUR gain. I wish Andrew and his Superlative Cleaning crew all the success in the world. read more

I called and asked for my carpets to be cleaned and stretched. The woman on the phone said it would take a couple of hours but I knew it was going to be an entire day to do. I was right. Jeremy showed up at my house at 9:00 am - and was there until 7:00 pm. It was a long hard day but he was very professional about it and got the carpet stretched (about 2400 square feet of stretching!) and cleaned. I felt bad for him but he just kept going until it was finished. The house looked beautiful for the realtors open tour. Thanks! read more

Being a first time homeowner, and wanting to clean the carpets of my new condo, I turned to yelp to find me a carpet cleaner. Sure I could've rented one and shlepped that huge machine to my house and do a terrible job at cleaning my carpet, but I figured I am a home owner now. That's baller status right? Luckily, I found these guys with all their 5 star reviews. Gave them a call and they were able to schedule me in pretty quickly. I have a small 2 bedroom apartment so not much area to clean but the quote they gave me was very reasonable. On the day of the appointment, they showed up early. Completed the job in a timely and professional manor. They even threw in some extras. Was super happy with the end result. Carpets feel like new! read more

I have never thought that I would be writing a review for a carpet cleaner....they come and they go, I am rarely impressed. Superlative and Andrew are AMAZING! TEN STAR! Andrew has gotten nasty pet odors out of my carpets in my home, cleaned after tenants in my rentals, and brought my daughter's white carpet back to "like new" condition after training a puppy! I will never again use another carpet cleaner. Superlative is hands down the best in Marin County. read more

Ahhh the sweet fragrance of superior customer service. Every person I spoke to or dealt with was courteous and an excellent listener. Gustavo was our cleaner and he was kind and careful. We purchased a home with animals as previous occupants and we have allergies. I spoke with Andrew and he listen to all my questions patiently and explained my options clearly. The first cleaning was timely and looked great. After a day I could still smell dog on the stairs and our allergies were still effected. I contacted the office and Shiree promptly called to schedule a second go at it. Again Gustavo was on time and kind...even to my kids who wanted to "help". He even brought a new treatment to try just for us! Top marks Superlative. You will have a solid referral from us! read more
