My hand did not get bigger and this is supposed the be a regular Ruben for $19 that doesn't come with a side or drink.

For a carry out only restaurant the prices are very high, as if the gratuity is added in. No sides offered with the sandwich. Fatty parts were in my Ruben also.

I would never have stopped here to eat on my own...because it looks like a drive by, seedy kind of place. Glad I trusted my friends and went in! There was a line of folks ordering to-go meals and several folks sitting at the window booths and small dining tables. Jamie greeted us with waters and menus and promptly took our orders. The meals were prepared faster than I could have expected and exactly as we ordered. Here's the funny part... the sound system is an outdated radio with two tiny speakers mounted on a shelf in the middle of the room and the cashier was eating her lunch, had food on her lip, all while checking out a customer and talking on her cell with no bluetooth or earbuds! We were dyin with laughter!!

I ordered Superior Restaurant for our office St. Patrick's Day luncheon and everyone was thrilled with their sandwich selection. The attention to detail and quality for the price cannot be beat. Always great whether you order in, or sit at the counter with Jamie. I have been going here for over 30-years and wouldn't go anywhere else for a Cleveland Corned Beef.

Another fine breakfast instItution in Cleveland ! I actually grew up in this neighborhood and this is one of 5 breakfast places in this neighborhood. Which one is best ? You decide , this one is actually my favorite for breakfast. The corned beef here is off the chain and all sandwiches. The inside is spacious, gets super crowded during lunch hour , and closes at 2:30 pm . Very clean inside and the staff is friendly and attentive. About their business here . They have nice dinner specials like meatloaf ,liver and onions just to name a couple. So check em out right on East 30 th and Superior.

The things I love about Cleveland. Iconic small breakfast lunch eateries just outside of downtown. Superior has been around for decades and surprisingly things are still the same. Great frood great service. A true staple of the city, and still surprisingly still cheap

This place has a long history in Cleveland and a long takeout line during lunch. Its been in the same location for a long time, used to be an entirely different building from what you see now, but it burnt down and had to be rebuilt. Since then the inside hasn't changed too much, but there have been renovations for the furniture so now it all looks pretty good. No frills deli, where you can count on good corned beef and friendly service. I've been going here since I was little, it's actually the first place my dad took my mom to when they moved here. I don't really recall getting anything but the corned beef basically. I'm sure I've gotten other things when i was younger, but of course don't remember what. My usual order now is fried mushrooms and a corned beef sandwich. I've also tried the pastrami and the cheddar potato pockets. All are so delicious!!! I can always count on good corned beef here, and so much of it that I have to split one or else I can never ever finish. The beef is packed on and you literally have a sandwich that is way bigger than your mouth can handle. Thinly sliced beef that just soo good. I really haven't found any other places that compare to how they make it. Sometimes I order it with coleslaw, which is such a perfect complement to the beef. Crispy and I'm getting my veggies (kinda). It comes with a half dill pickle which is always yummy too. Fried mushrooms are always fresh, and the pastrami sandwich is really goood too. Piping hot. A corned beef sandwich now runs 8.50. Prices have risen with the economy, but portions at least are still the same. It's so worth it. If you do come here, just go past the take out line and find yourself a seat. The waitress will be over in no time and your order will be on its way.

Only ever had the cornbeef. The sandwich has enough meat for Two hearty sandwiches easily. Washed it down with a Vernors. This IS Cleveland.

The corn beef sandwich was the worst I've ever had. The meat was old and the sandwich was dry.

They just keep placing another brisket on, and the ribbons of beef keep falling. The order counter is tiny, with a line out the door: regulars, tourists like me, and food delivery drivers all waiting their turn. There are meat trimmings everywhere, tubs of pickles, and the sense that the folks behind the counter know exactly what they are doing. The small dining room is packed with people sitting elbow to elbow, gripping massive sandwiches with stadium mustard in the corners of their mouths. It is loud, cramped, messy, and glorious. I've gone to heaven.

I joined the line just before 11 and got inside about 11:50 AM. I'm currently standing in line waiting on my sandwich which is a corned beef melt. I ordered a corned beef melt, which is toasted rye, cornbeef, double Swiss cheese - hot & melted with Kraut on the side and dressing. I got a side of potato pancakes, and also coleslaw. The folks were extremely friendly on the inside, very welcoming and very efficient as they worked to make who knows how many meals. And you'll be glad to know every sandwich comes with a dill pickle, wrapped in its own paper and ready for delicious consumption! The dill is a big deal to me because I like spears, as in the pickle not necessarily (in this case) the pop star! Come early and be ready to wait! The place is really kitchsy and has a great atmosphere. And the folks really make it awesome to be there. It has the feel of a destination restaurant the kind of place that is an experience to visit not just because of the food because of the culture and the people and the phenom that it has become.

The food had always been delicious until this last visit. Given we are regulars at the place, we know the quality of the food has been consistently fantastic and the wait for the food is typical - not too fast or slow - enough to prepare the meal given how busy the place has always been. This last time, however, it was a good 45 minutes before the order came to the table. Neither one of our meals was very good. I was very hypiglycemic by this point and so I ate the french toast that was completely uncooked inside. At first I wasn't thrilled that the bread was considerably smaller than it used to be until i bit into it to find cold wet mush. I should not have eaten it at all. My friend had ordered a patty melt - medium which should be light pink in the center. It was bloody red. She sent it back and about 20 min later it came back exavtly the same. She sent it back again. Another 20 minutes later it came back well done and with spices in the meat that made the meat taste lousy. So now she had a burger that wass over cooked and tasted bad. She didnt gat to eat because by that time we were done. I wish i had turned back the french toast. I kept hoping with every bite it might be cooked. Not one bite was cooked. Not even one. Being hypoglycemic I felt like I would lose my cool if I didnt eat something so I ate. It turns out the place had been bought and the new owner really didnt care. We got to talk to the brother of the new owner who only said that the place has been very busy and that should speak to the quality. He couldnt care less about our experience. All I have to say is that they are going to be losing a lot of money having to replace meals and once people find out about the sudden drop in quality of the food, those peeople that have been filling the place will not be returning as we wont be either. We refuse to go somewhere that the owners could care less about their patrons.

First of the Mike's Chicken Noodle soup was the best chicken noodle soup around. Rich broth, carrots, celery, chunks of chicken in a hearty broth and noodles. The hearty chicken noodle now on the menu is just broth and egg noodles. Not a veggie or chicken in sight and it's too salty and bland. Very disappointing for more than $7.50 a bowl I can't even say it's disappointing it just was bad. And served luke warm. We got the reuben sandwich to split with potato salad. Toasted bread fairly good portion for $18.95 a sandwich. But the corn beef was a bit chewy. The corn beef should be tender it was not in the middle. I wanted to like it but it was just meh. Potato salad was served in the little side Dixie cup thing. I gotta say I hate that. Potato salad was more like mashed potato salad. Again not a lot of flavor or ingredients. Service was good. The employees were the same, menu is paired down. They do still have the pickles. Which is good! But the taste and overall food was not the same. Too bad. It was a great little deli. I did hear someone was buying it from the restaurant conglomerate and I hope that's true. We need the old Jacks Deli back! Or at least better than what we have now. Until this guy takes over I am avoiding g this once great deli.

When I walked in, I had to settle for an unbelievably delicious scrapple sandwich because they were temporarily out of pastrami. The fennel perfectly cut through the richness of the asparagus. Add to this one of the best potato salads I've ever had and it would've been enough.
