If they're good, but you don't need them in your life, they're Superfluous Pasties. If they're glitching, contact (Tech) Support Pasties. And if you're getting them for dinner, they're Supper Pasties. Absolutely wonderful shop with an even more wonderful owner. Everything he makes is delicious and homemade, and his sides are particularly awesome - with good pasta salad and spectacular coleslaw, the likes of which I haven't tasted before. If you use them to soak up basement water, they're Sump-pump Pasties. If you bring Mary Poppins here, they're Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Pasties. And if you wear them as sexy lingerie, they're Suspender Pasties. His pasties are top-notch, especially the shepherd's pie which is the one I got when I stopped in here recently. The guy knows how to make his stuff. He's not trying to copy Michigan standards or Cornwall for that matter. He's just making some absolutely delicious, unique, original, pasties of heaven. They may be the best thing I've tried in the Detroit area. If they make you shake your butt, they're Shakira Pasties. If a Kennedy chokes on them, they're Sirhansirhan Pasties. And if they're too salty, they're Shur-Fine Pasties, or most drivers these days. The decor in here as lovely as well and seems to focus on nature & wildlife in the wilderness of the Great Lakes - which are one of the most beautiful regions in North America and the world. Very underrated because of the level of industry in the cities around this area. If you take a selfie here, it's Summertimesadness Pasties. If the pasties do well in school, they're Summacumlaude Pasties. And if you eat too many of them, you'll end up looking like a Sumowrestler Pasties. And if you rescue them from the streets of Queens, they're Sammisweetheart Pasties. In any case make sure you stop in to this wonderful, unassuming, delightful, and unique pasty shop and try some of the delicious delights that this guy is making. Additionally he may also be the most friendly guy I've met in Michigan. There are pasty shops all over Montana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and other northern states - but none are quite like this one, my favourite. If hipsters get judgy about these pasties, they're Sociopath Pasties. If they refuse to be eaten, they're Insubordinate Pasties. And if they get juicier when you burn them, cut them up, and devour them, then they're Submissive Pasties.

Delicious! Have to hit up this joint on your way "up north" or before heading back. Definelty get the gravy, the perfect touch!

Turkey Pasty with gravy, pasta salad and a Vernors. Michigan food.

My unfinished review from 2011: The ladies who work here are real nice and the Pasties are reasonable and good. I'm glad I hadn't yet gone looking for them at their previous location or I might have been upset not to find them and assume they'd closed. I happened onto them by accident on my way to the Senate since they are inside the same strip mall. I immediately switched to their place knowing I could go to the Senate another day. The Pasty and gravy were good and more than I could eat in one sitting. The price was reasonable and I left full and happy. 2016: I came here two or three times on my last trip and always enjoyed the pasties I got. This was one of the places I looked forward to coming back to this trip. So far I've tried the turkey pasty, the beef Pasty, and the breakfast pasties. All have been good. I'm sure they would be even better warmed in the oven to give the crust a nice crunch but unfortunately I only have a microwave in my motel room and I can tell you they still turned out delicious warmed for 90 seconds in the microwave. I usually sit down and eat one in the place when I go in and I'm always happy with what I get. I look forward to going back and trying more varieties. Thank you to the Canadian couple up at the Soo Locks who first told me about pasties! That was in 2007 and I've been eating them ever since. I rarely find them in San Diego but there is a pasty shop near my daughter in Mesa Arizona that we always go to when I'm in town and of course I eat them wherever I can find them when I come to Michigan for visits. I even made them at home once. They turned out delicious but were a lot of work for a few pasties!

Wow! I have been here in many years and it's really much better than any UP style pasties I've had down state. Come check it out new owners are friendly and kind. Traditional Pasty I had.

The pasties I bought were excellent! My guests loved them as well! They all wanted to know where you were located.

Was excited to try these, but I didn't care for the steak. My boyfriend likes them though. They were a good size and a fair price.

Server number 200 did not do that for me this evening. I went to Archie's on a recommendation from my local host. My Cajun chicken salad was decent, nothing to brag about, nothing to complain about. The bartender took my drink and food order, but someone else delivered my food, and kindly asked if I needed anything else. I said no. The bartender passed by me no less than a dozen times, never stopping once to check in. She busied herself with socializing with the locals at the tables, but couldn't offer a simple check in to see if I liked my food or needed anything else. Before that, my tip was going to be 30%, which is standard. By the time I left, it dropped down to just under 20%. She was not even deserving of that, but I am a decent guy. As I walked out, I expected a parting greeting from the bartender who was at another table. Nothing. As I passed by the host, I expected another greeting. Nothing. There is absolutely nothing about this restaurant, the food, or the staff that would encourage me to return or recommend it to anyone else. Nothing.

Nobody was rushing the tables to leave which is a testament to how they booked their reservations. Our meals and adult beverages were all two thumbs up! My dad took a sip of his raspberry twist and said, "wow, that is strong. I'm glad I'm not driving." My mom took a sip of his drink and said, "oooh that's good! If you think that's strong you should try my drink!" Her drink was the Black Forest and it was definitely the kind of drink one sips! My Christmas cookie martini went down real easy! The food was great -mushroom soup, Caesar salad, two turkey dinners (one with some modifications), buffalo balls and a side of mashed potatoes. And of course, we had to get a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies! The place was lightly decorated for the holiday - tastefully done! Today, they nailed everything! Hostess, waiter, food runners, manager - check, check, check!

It provides a great atmosphere for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience! The service is consistently friendly and efficient, they have a lot of nice people here. Even though the menu is a bit meat-centric, there is always plenty that I enjoy. For the meat lovers, you cannot go wrong with the filet and the ribeye! I have enjoyed the appetizers, the salads including their rendition of the famous Maurice! It's very good and plentiful! I often come for the Wednesday and Friday fish and chips specials! The turkey Reuben is always enjoyable. On this visit, they have changed the menu. For the turkey Reuben, they are now using a homemade onion bun. Very nice bun, but not quite right for a true Reuben that calls for a crispy rye bread. It might help if they buttered and toasted the onion bun. But, still not a complete hit. They have also removed some well-loved chicken dishes and moved them to the specials. Another item they have taken off the menu is their hearty club sandwich, that one will be missed as well. I always have hoped they bring back the pulled chicken BBQ sandwich, one of the best! No shade of course, there is still lots to choose from. Great drinks, upbeat atmosphere and always a favorite!

My husband and I went out for our anniversary and thought this would be a nice steakhouse. We walked in feeling overdressed and had a table with a family including kids watching shows loudly on a phone right next to us. My biggest issue, though, was I ordered a mocktail (I forget the name, but it was an espresso martini made with non-alcoholic spirits) directly from the menu, exactly how it's listed in there, and was brought a regular espresso martini. I took one sip and could tell the difference. When I asked my server if it was in fact the one I ordered, she told me she rung in a regular one. I was 8 months pregnant at the time, so this was not great. While she was very apologetic and corrected the error, this was a big mishap.

There was no question, I would see my friend. We had selected Chicane earlier, eager to try the new restaurant in a familiar setting, by the train tracks on Starkweather. This location was formerly Station 885, a restaurant my friend and I visited years earlier, when a toy train ran along tracks around the perimeter, delighting her young daughter. We arrived early, scoring a great table with a view of the large bar, lounge, and stage. The restaurant is glamorous, with gorgeous lighting and attractive furnishings. Musicians entertained the eager and appreciative audience. There are so few places that provide this level of entertainment and hospitality. I had already previewed the menu and was anticipating the meal ahead. The duck sounded amazing and is almost always my first choice. However, the short ribs were tempting, as were the scallops in a coconut curry broth. I went with my first instinct, the duck, paired with a French Onion soup. The medium-rare duck breast was perfectly prepared; I liked the sweet potato puree and slaw accompaniments. Incidentally, the portion was huge. My friend enjoyed her braised short rib, which was on the 2-course supper menu, available before 6pm. For dessert, I went with the chocolate cube. Unfortunately, I didn't even see the banana parfait, which was mentioned in several of the reviews here. Oh, well, I was content. The dessert had a bold, intense chocolate flavor, which paired well with the ice cream's more subtle flavors. I also appreciated the different textures on the plate. Service was fantastic: professional and helpful. Unfortunately, my car died during the cold, and TripleA was unable to help, given the number of people/vehicles in a similar situation. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to find someone (the Executive Chef, who was in the middle of service) to provide a jump; I am so grateful for the gracious hospitality.
