Rod is a Fraud. Rod collected payment for jobs that he never followed through with and most work he "did" now needs to be done/ redone by another licensed professional. Rod has stopped responding to all calls and text. Payments he collected and did NOT deliver include: $10,800 -Work not started/completed for Cabinets $6,300- Flooring labor install (not including materials that I now need to purchase more to re-do because of poor cuts and his team taking shortcuts) $3,100 -Vanity he did not delivery Do NOT believe anything he says. His work ethics are subpar. He collects money and sends other subcontractors to "do" the job. He will not show up onsite when he states he will to oversee the job as a contractor that bids the job should. I am working with an attorney and CSLB to which I have been informed of violation on my job not limited too: -overcharge on deposit - it$ 1000 max or 10% -Payment schedule not listed on contract -he doesn't have workers comp and he had others on the job site - contact written incorrectly based on CSLB requirements -Operating as a general contractor when he only has a C33 licensed Technically he was "not licensed" based on conversations with CSLB. DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR. Rod Diaz started my house project April 28th, 2023 with the end date slotted for 4 weeks later. I am now 13 weeks into the project and left with an incomplete house, he removed all cabinets and left me with nothing. The flooring install had buckling of the flooring just 2 weeks after install. The laborer he subcontracted did not have experience and took shortcuts instead "gluing" interlocking flooring and making poor cuts on material that are now wasted. He was informed and witnessed the issues first hand. He promised over and over to fix the issues but I am now left only to hire another contractor to redo the job, thus paying twice as Rod will not reimburse or fix himself. The cabinet project he did not deliver and same for vanity initially delivered but wrong measurements by his team. read more

Superior Painting painted our three bedroom condo in Huntington Beach, changing the color scheme and did our kitchen cabinets. Rod was great to work with! Very customer focused, which is the most important thing. His crew was really nice when we visited the job to check out progress, and even gave us their opinions about the paint colors we were trying to decide on. Something huge that Rod did for us, is he double checked with me if I was really sure about the paint colors I gave him at first to do. He knew I wanted a beachy theme and told me that one of my color choices was a bit yellowy. That led us to getting two sets of sample colors put up on the wall, and Rod was accommodating and patient about it all. In the end, we went with a completely different color. It would have been a disaster if he had just taken the color choices I gave him and put them up. So grateful for his service. He also made sure everything that needed to be addressed or fixed at the end was done. Didn't hound me to pay him, wanted to make sure I was happy first. Cant say enough about Rod and his team ( Victor & Eric). They were an absolute pleasure to work with. They always came with a great attitude, smiling faces and you can tell they really enjoy what they do. We used Rod and his team for 2 jobs in a 1 month period time. On the first job they painted the kitchen, dining room, living room, baseboards, crown molding and entry way. The paint came out great and they always made sure the house was cleaned and picked up before they left. We were so happy with the outcome that asked if he would take a look at our built-ins, hallway cabinets, wainscoting and baseboards from a previous paint job that didn't come out so great. He came back out, took a look at what needed to be done and Voila! Rod and his team prepped, sanded, repainted and in ONE DAY! completed the job. Did I mention they also sanded and painted the front door. Needless to say the paint came out amazing and looking forward to working with Rod and his team again. Just had some new construction done on our condo and a ceiling scrape that left some areas pretty rough - Rod and the Superior Painting crew did an amazing job repairing all the rough patches left by previous worker that I showed him when he came out to look at the job as well as some things I didn't even see. Does anybody know how to get ahold of Rod at Superior Painting Co? Customer service as far as I can see has been very limited an poor. Windows were installed and all of them leak !!!!! No response from Rod with several attempts to contact him and regular messages left. My unit is not the only unit that has leaking windows either !!!! Now the paint is starting to peel, my flooring is starting to lift and Rod is still MIA !!!!!!!!!!! Don't do it! Fernando painted my whole house including my cabinets throughout the house. He did not prep any holes or cracks he painted over them all and the paint in the entire house is peeling I had to replace my kitchen cabinets and I have to replace all the doors in my house. The job was supposed to be completed in 4 to 5 days which ended up being several weeks.
