I was a little worried that maybe I was making the wrong a mistake after being bombarded by calls and emails from other Yelp moving vendors, but I know it was the right choice! The job estimate was 5-6 hours based on the my inventory and the job finished in 5. Eugene called the night before with an estimated start time, sent a text the morning of with a 30 minute warning, and arrived on time. My crew consisted on Eugene, Serge & Nazar. I did a walk through with Eugene upon arrival of the rooms and items that would be moved and to where at the new location. Upon arrival at my new home, we again walked through to ensure the team understood the labeling on the boxes and home layout. When in doubt, the team asked instead of just dumping boxes in the wrong place. Prior to leaving Eugene asked if I wanted anything moved to different rooms,and straightened out my area rug after the furniture was already placed on it. They carefully wrapped furniture and mattresses with their supplies at no additional charge prior to moving, and removed the wrap and trash from the new home. Bonus: Nothing broken, damaged or lost! He later offered to help bring in some of the boxes but we were so frustrated by how much work we had ahead of us we just couldn't comprehend having him come over but as we were getting to the end we had some heavy items that needed help to move and I tried recently to call him and he doesn't answer the phone. That is why I wouldn't trust anything he says! BEWARE! No matter what is said get exact price written down, what is exactly is included, watch how they wrap everything and fragile items you should take yourself and be wary if they say boxes are included! I originally thought it went well till I started to unpack. Now first off I had an estimate including them to unpack but they misjudged the amount of work that was required. So it ended costing me triple the price and they didn't have the time to unpack. They also only marked half the boxes with what was in them making it very frustrating for me to know what was worth to unpack immediately. Upon moving the boxes that they piled up triple high and very heavy caused the move to be extremely difficult since we are in our 70's. Upon opening the boxes the items were wrapped and re-wrapped with so much clear plastic that we spent hours cutting through to get to the items. They did this to many things that were non breakable pieces like boxes of cereal but a vase from Greece was wrapped in paper and was broken in pieces. A cup from Russia also broken was thrown in with the vase and a piece of paper place between them no wrap on the cup. My small 2 drawer file desk was emptied in a box mixing paper clips, rubber bands, pens, markers, and everything else that was in jars. All our items with cords instead of keeping them together they were all thrown in different boxes and still have not found them. We have a very heavy sewing table with machine needed taken up to the walk up attic(our second floor) it is still sitting in the garage and now we have to hire someone else to take care of it otherwise we can not park in the garage. DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY Will PROMISE TO DO THINGS; BUT BEWARE!! ALSO I WAS CHARGED FOR EXTRA MATERIAL; THEY USED SO MUCH MORE THAN NEEDED!!

Adding difficulty was the timing -- the week of Thanksgiving. I researched and called many moving companies large and small. I read all the reviews from various web platforms, which plunged me into a deep dive of movers and scams. Many of the medium and large companies employ agents, despite claiming otherwise. After you make the deal, the person you spoke with will disappear and you'll be at the mercy of the actual moving company, which can turn out badly. We chose All About Moving and it was a blessing. The communication was great right from the initial inquiry. The move was from the Philly area to NY, with an extra stop at a storage unit, so there was a time crunch in order to finish before it got too late into the night (Abel and his team had a 3 hour drive back home). Start time would be 7:30AM. Except it wasn't. The morning of the move, apartment management informed us that we had to wait until the super got in with the key to the basement loading area. We lost 2.5 hours. To top it off, one of the 2 elevators was broken. Did I mention it was the Monday of Thanksgiving? Angry residents all laden with groceries, lots of outside deliveries, many visitors arriving ... it was chaos. Abel, Allie and Amador got right to work. Allie wrapped everything with care and they moved swiftly. They did back-breaking work with speed and patience. The move-in process was the same, and then on to a local storage unit for more unloading. These folks are the real deal, and worthy of your business. They have skill, muscle and hustle, yes.
