They removed excessive tree roots, trenched and built a sturdy retaining wall to protect the tree, regraded the yard to ensure proper slope for water runoff, and created two attractive flower beds with enriched soil and black mulch. They laid sod across multiple curb strips and the front of the house, carefully blending seams and finishing edges. Their quote was by far the fairest among five contractors we interviewed, and the workmanship shows it. With extra sod available they even took additional time to install over a curb strip for me. Several of them did it the second they began the job. The owner doesn't care and will turn it around to make you look like the problem. So, if you're cool with that, then go ahead and move forward with them. However, know that you'll be paying a premium price for a company and project crew that couldn't care less about disrespecting you or your property. Just an honest review. Brian was also the only one who suggested delaying some of the trimming until my vegetable garden was dormant since it would be difficult to do the work without the risk of having the workers step on my garden plants to do the trimming. The crew was efficient and did a fantastic job of cleaning up afterwards. The crew chief (Benjamin) walked me through the work before they started to make sure everything was addressed, and walked me through the work after completion to make sure all was done to my satisfaction. It was a pleasure working with him. Another distinguishing point is Riverbend's office staff. I was able to get to a real person quickly when I called (a rarity these days). This was a complex job on a steep slope that required drainage expertise. Drainage was a huge concern for me because my property has a storm drainage failsafe for the neighborhood.
