I come here for my veggies, plant based milk, oatmeal, and bread. Sometimes the alcohol is on sale. I like their red tag specials. Sometimes they're worth it to stock up on more and other times no. Like what another review said, their prices can be deceiving because sometimes their red tag prices are their regular prices or even higher than regular price even though it's marked as a red tag special. There were several times where I calculated and the bigger item was more expensive than when you get multiple of their little items. Hope that makes sense. Make sure you check the expiration dates and how many items you need to purchase to get those red tag specials prices. The staff (ie: cashiers, stockers) are always nice here and they work efficiently.

On Christmas Day, I bought a flan cake for my family. I was really looking forward to it and excited to see my family's reaction when I got home. However, when I opened the cake, I was shocked to find that all of the fruit on top was covered in mold. The cake was clearly not fresh, and I was worried it could make us sick, so we did not eat it at all. Because of this, we ended up spending Christmas without a cake, which was very disappointing. I had gone out of my way to buy it, and it completely ruined the mood of our Christmas. The next day, I brought the entire uneaten cake back to the store. I had already thrown away the moldy fruit, but the cake itself was untouched. When I explained what happened, the woman in charge of the cakes did not believe me and said that this kind of thing does not happen at their store. She refused to give me a refund. I calmly asked to speak with the manager. When the manager came, she also did not seem to believe me and had a very unpleasant attitude. She looked annoyed and only refunded my money reluctantly, as if he had no choice. The behavior of both the bakery staff and the manager was extremely unprofessional and left me feeling upset for the rest of the day. Because of this experience, I do not recommend buying cakes from this store. You may end up buying a moldy cake. I will never shop at this store again.

Good market for all of your grocery needs. Store is well stocked and very organized. Prices are deceiving on many products. You will find deals on items which are on sale however, items priced at regular, everyday prices are definitely on the high end such as milk and bread. I'll definitely continue shopping at Walmart for groceries as their prices are always lower than all the other markets in the area Service is slow and on the three occasions I have visited this store, the check out lines are always 5-6 customers deep.

I personally would never shop here, I brought a friend that needed groceries and stopped here. The place needs security and serious attention to their property. It's disgusting. On the inside it appeared very clean and organized.

Large location with plenty of parking. Store seems to be well stocked. I love the bakery area. I bought a cake, and it was delicious. It's a good market when looking for certain Mexican products. It was not too busy when I stopped by and so it was a good quick shopping trip. Employees are friendly and helpful, and I found everything I needed for a recipe.

The checkout lines are ALWAYS super long! Be prepared to wait a while since it takes forever! Also, some customers don't follow the rules for the express/10 items or less lanes. They will have a cart full of items and pretend it's 10 items or less. Get the hot foods. The beans are delicious! Love the cheese & jalapeno, chicken, and pork tamales! Their salsa is good too. They have refrigerated beans, but why go for that if the Hot Food Section is still opened? The Meat Department has a funky smell to it. Smells like a mixture of meat and cleaning products. I guess they are doing their best to keep the department clean. Prices are insanely more expensive on most items. However, their produce seems to be of better quality.

Larios Market was recommended to me by a wonderful fellow Yelper. You know who you are. Thank you!…read more I wanted to get guacamole, salsa, and chips for a team potluck lunch. I got rave reviews on these items that they are super good at Larios so here I am to confirm. This market is located at the corner of Barranca Ave and Arrow Highway in Covina. It's actually a meat market, but they sell produce and other food/dry items plus hot foods. It's a very small place with maybe 3-4 tight aisles. I went straight to the refrigeration area. I saw lots of different salsas and a handful of guacamole. At first glance, the appearance of the guac did not look appealing to me. It looked brown and kind of watery at the top. I was hesitant to get them, but since they were recommended, I got 3 of them. Now looking back, I should have only gotten one just to try them. It was not that great IMHO. Maybe they were not made that day and have been hanging around for a day or so. However, the roasted red salsa was really really good... I would highly recommend this one. Pico de gallo was decent. Crab ceviche was just okay... too much of the V8 taste. I ended up buying 6 containers and spent over $50 on guac and salsa. Probably more than I need. I didn't bother with the chips as they look more on the oily side. Anyway, staff was nice and helpful. Check out was fast as it wasn't super busy at the time. Parking is limited. They do have a few tables and stools outside in front of the market for those who want to eat here after their food purchase. I'm not sure if I would come back for the guac, but I may come back for the roasted red salsa and possibly their tacos and burritos.

I had a wonderful phone conversation with the owner Ben who personally took my order. We agreed upon a date and time two weeks out since I was going to be out of town for the 4th of July week. They called while I was out of town to confirm the date and time (between 10-11 am) which was great! When I arrived to the store with my son around 11:15 because of the heavy traffic on 91W I went to the counter and was told by a young female that I needed to go to the pay counter. She was curt and not helpful. There was only three people ahead of me so no problem. But the elder gentleman in front of me, who was being helped by the young man who would eventually help me, took an exceptionally long time with his order. I'm just here to pay and pick up. No problem, I'll be patient and keep waiting. Two other costumers are helped by the female counter person and finally the elder customer leaves with his order and I'm next. The young male counter person then waits for me to initiate the conversation and doesn't greet me with a smile or hello or how can I help. I brush it off. I tell him I'm here to pick up my order, a whole pig and give him my last name. He fumbles around a few seconds and then asks how to spell my name and eventually finds my ticket order and asks what time. The time is written at the top of the ticket he failed to notice. I pay for the order. He mutters someone will be out with my order and disappears. No thank you, no attentiveness like he gave the older gentleman in front of me. Again, I've been in my car with my son for over two hours from San Diego in traffic and this fella couldn't give me five minutes of courtesy. I'm waiting, and waiting and waiting while others eventually come into the store and are being helped and leaving. The older female worker at the pay counter is still there helping customers while the younger female at the deli counter is now apparently on a break and making herself lunch. She stops momentarily when a customer comes in for deli service. I'm still waiting by the counter to make sure I'm at least acknowledged but I don't see the young male counter worker who apparently left for lunch since it's now noon. The older female worker can probably see on my face that I'm not happy and says to me he's working on my order. He? Who's he? I am just here to pay and pick order between 10-11. How much time and trouble could it be to put this order together which was made two weeks prior? A different gentlemen finally arrives with three boxes and two large paper bags that comprise my order. On the way out the older female worker says goodbye and was very courteous. At this point I'm pretty upset because this is not a large haul and this order could've easily been second and not 45 minutes! I arrive home after the two hour drive back home to SD and looking forward to the meat, especially the sausages and putting it into the freezer which I cleared out in preparation for the meat. My older son is home to help. As we are sorting and placing the meat I notice that there are no sausages. It's just sausage meat but no links. I guess it's my fault for assuming and not specifying sausage links on at peat some of the order. It was a huge letdown. I had array went out to purchase rolls and buns for a bbq this weekend and to have friends and family over. Oh well. You live and you learn. At least the bacon was great.

I specifically watched this occur while my order was being prepared, when I asked her if she changed gloves her response was " I have extra gloves here" I asked again if she switched gloves while handling different meats and she said she can re do my trays again. Afterward, I called the store and spoke with a manager named Liz, who told me they had been advised by the health department that employees did not need to change gloves between handling different raw meats. That response was surprising to me. Under the California Retail Food Code, food employees are required to prevent cross contamination of food, and single use gloves must be changed whenever contamination could occur and may not be used for multiple tasks without proper handwashing and glove changes. Specifically, California Health & Safety Code §§ 113961 and 113973 address preventing contamination and the proper use of single-use gloves. Based on what I personally witnessed, I did not feel confident that proper cross-contamination prevention practices were being followed. Separately, my brother became seriously ill after consuming food purchased there and was later diagnosed with a Salmonella infection. I cannot say with certainty where the infection originated, but given what I observed, I felt it was important to share my experience. What makes this especially disheartening is that I genuinely love the food here and have been a customer because of the quality of the products they sell. I wanted to continue supporting this business, but after witnessing these food handling practices and receiving the response I did when I raised my concerns, I no longer feel confident that proper food safety precautions are being followed. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and reviews its practices to ensure customer safety.
