    Food set up!

La Pradera comes through again! This time I was hosting a baby shower for about 35 people and needed some prepared food! Nick helped me with my order, so friendly! In fact, everyone that works there that I've come in contact with is super friendly! I ordered: 10 pounds prepared Marinated Chicken 10 pounds prepared Habanero Chicken 12 pounds Carne Asada (un-cooked) Tray of Rice Tray of beans 3 huge packs of street taco tortillas 6 pounds of chips 4 (pints I believe) Hot Salsas 2 (pints I believe) Mild Salsas Oh my GOODNESS... EVERYONE LOVED LOVED LOVED IT ALL!!! I got compliments from everyone asking where I got the food from! Of course I referred them! I sure hope they all go to you Nick! Thank you for your wonderful customer service and DELICIOUS FOOD!!! You have a faithful customer here! P.S. Enjoyed the left overs all week long! Yay!

I've been getting Carne Asada here for years, I live in Temecula and willing to drive for hours in traffic to get here I haven't tried a lot of the other stuff but I can tell you that is some of the best meat and their marinating is amazing. It's very quiet little meat market they have some great tortilla options and their chips and salsa are amazing 12 out of 10 I would come back again and again

DO NOT SHOP HERE!! This was the worst Cecina I ever purchased from a Mexican meat market. I trusted that they would have quality meat. When I got home , I opened the bag and the meat was super dark, slimy, and it had a rotten stench. The person attending me at the meat department should have known that the meat they gave me had gone bad. This goes to show you that the quality of meat and their workers are worth shit. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!

Guy behind the meat counter was RUDE! Carne asada was a whopping $11.99 a lb and didn't even look fresh. Save your time and go elsewhere.

I guess I entered their delivery door to the meat dept., but they didn't seem to mind. This place is a bit tiny, but it is very neat and have a good selection of meats. The place is clean and shelves are very neatly stocked and organized. And of course I must have been the cheapest buyer in the place. I spent a whole $1.94 for Square Gas foil burners for your stove. They're square aluminum foil to protect food from dripping onto your stove by the burners. I'm a guy, so that's the best I can do for identifying these. The cashier was cheerful and friendly and didn't mind me being a cheap spender. I had a wonderful phone conversation with the owner Ben who personally took my order. We agreed upon a date and time two weeks out since I was going to be out of town for the 4th of July week. They called while I was out of town to confirm the date and time (between 10-11 am) which was great! When I arrived to the store with my son around 11:15 because of the heavy traffic on 91W I went to the counter and was told by a young female that I needed to go to the pay counter. She was curt and not helpful. There was only three people ahead of me so no problem. But the elder gentleman in front of me, who was being helped by the young man who would eventually help me, took an exceptionally long time with his order. I'm just here to pay and pick up. No problem, I'll be patient and keep waiting. Two other costumers are helped by the female counter person and finally the elder customer leaves with his order and I'm next. The young male counter person then waits for me to initiate the conversation and doesn't greet me with a smile or hello or how can I help. I brush it off. I tell him I'm here to pick up my order, a whole pig and give him my last name. He fumbles around a few seconds and then asks how to spell my name and eventually finds my ticket order and asks what time. The time is written at the top of the ticket he failed to notice. I pay for the order. He mutters someone will be out with my order and disappears. No thank you, no attentiveness like he gave the older gentleman in front of me. Again, I've been in my car with my son for over two hours from San Diego in traffic and this fella couldn't give me five minutes of courtesy. I'm waiting, and waiting and waiting while others eventually come into the store and are being helped and leaving. The older female worker at the pay counter is still there helping customers while the younger female at the deli counter is now apparently on a break and making herself lunch. She stops momentarily when a customer comes in for deli service. I'm still waiting by the counter to make sure I'm at least acknowledged but I don't see the young male counter worker who apparently left for lunch since it's now noon. The older female worker can probably see on my face that I'm not happy and says to me he's working on my order. He? Who's he? I am just here to pay and pick order between 10-11. How much time and trouble could it be to put this order together which was made two weeks prior? A different gentlemen finally arrives with three boxes and two large paper bags that comprise my order. On the way out the older female worker says goodbye and was very courteous. At this point I'm pretty upset because this is not a large haul and this order could've easily been second and not 45 minutes! I arrive home after the two hour drive back home to SD and looking forward to the meat, especially the sausages and putting it into the freezer which I cleared out in preparation for the meat. My older son is home to help. As we are sorting and placing the meat I notice that there are no sausages. It's just sausage meat but no links. I guess it's my fault for assuming and not specifying sausage links on at peat some of the order. It was a huge letdown. I had array went out to purchase rolls and buns for a bbq this weekend and to have friends and family over. Oh well. You live and you learn. At least the bacon was great.

I got rave reviews on these items that they are super good at Larios so here I am to confirm. This market is located at the corner of Barranca Ave and Arrow Highway in Covina. It's actually a meat market, but they sell produce and other food/dry items plus hot foods. It's a very small place with maybe 3-4 tight aisles. I went straight to the refrigeration area. I saw lots of different salsas and a handful of guacamole. At first glance, the appearance of the guac did not look appealing to me. It looked brown and kind of watery at the top. I was hesitant to get them, but since they were recommended, I got 3 of them. Now looking back, I should have only gotten one just to try them. It was not that great IMHO. Maybe they were not made that day and have been hanging around for a day or so. However, the roasted red salsa was really really good... I would highly recommend this one. Pico de gallo was decent. Crab ceviche was just okay... too much of the V8 taste. I ended up buying 6 containers and spent over $50 on guac and salsa. Probably more than I need. I didn't bother with the chips as they look more on the oily side. Anyway, staff was nice and helpful. Check out was fast as it wasn't super busy at the time. Parking is limited. They do have a few tables and stools outside in front of the market for those who want to eat here after their food purchase. I'm not sure if I would come back for the guac, but I may come back for the roasted red salsa and possibly their tacos and burritos.
