Review- Superior Exterior Systems Job May 16th to June 16th, 2022 Hardi Plank Siding Whole House Plus Painting When we decided to have the whole house resided, we got bids from 4 different companies. We started the bid process in the winter for a tentative late spring early summer project start. Superior Exterior Systems (SES) was mid-range between them all. They were not the cheapest or most expensive. However, the final deciding factor was that they had the best reviews and easiest to understand proposal and presentation--great pictures by the way. Any time I had a questions or concerns, it was easy to get hold of the rep., Artie Griffin, by text of call. I always confirmed any agreements with a written correspondence by email (good business/legal practice). Good communication and follow through is the key to a positive experience. The job progressed seamlessly. Just before the job began, Matt, Project Mgr., came out to do a walk around to inspect the exterior and determine any particulars of the job and answer any additional questions. Our siding crew consisted of Victor, crew chief, Julio & Salvador, professional siding installers. Because of the size of our house, the siding installation took 3 1/2 weeks. We were fortunate that we only had one area of dry rot around a large window that needed the plywood replaced. This did not cost extra as it was already part of the bid. We also had them leave a bit of extra siding and trim for any potential issues in the future. Once the siding part was done, Victor came by and did a light power wash of the house to remove any dust and debris before the paint crew came. SES works exclusively with National Paints. Our crew consisted of Nick and Adam. Once I chose the primary and trim colors, it only took 2 days for them to completely tape, mask and paint this house!! Last but not least, after the siding and painting, the electrician, Steve, from Hyland Electrical came by to reinstall all my lighting fixtures and outlets. I am so please with the final outcome. Our house looks AMAZING! Additionally, any contact I had with the office staff was also very pleasant and professional. Special thanks to Alanna, Noah, and Michelle. Superior Exterior Our house was built in the 90's with a combination of Hardie and T-111 siding. It's 2019 and the T-111 has not aged well. When evaluating siding contractors for our house project, we went to the James Hardie website and used their recommendations of "Elite Preferred" contractors in my area. We received bids from five local contractors from their list. We discovered that all Elite Preferred contractors are not the same. Some firms sent salesmen. Some sent project managers. Superior Exterior Systems sent the founder of the company. Solutions proposed by these Elite Preferred contractors were not the same. One contractor required complete tear off of old siding. Another required removal of all windows. Others proposed window treatments inconsistent with the front of the house. Superior Exterior Systems provided a logical and understandable system of replacement without a hard sales approach. Bill Vidovic, their founder and representative, answered all our questions and was excellent at follow up and customer service. The construction crew was amazing. They worked morning until dark; through sun, rain, cold and snow flurries. Their attention to detail was nonpareil. We could not ask for better. Bill even provided inspection report cards every few days. Replacing siding is a sizable investment. Fortunately, we made it before substantial rot effected our home and increased the replacement costs. While there are probably lots of local siding companies that will do a fine job of installing siding on your home, I believe you would be hard pressed to find anyone who provides the level of customer service that Bill at Superior Exteriors does. From the lightning fast initial response time to the very last quality control visit, Bill has been top notch in his attention to detail, incredible communication and commitment to excellence. He prepared me for all of the possibilities that could impact the timeline and cost since we were removing 30 year old vinyl siding with no vapor barrier. I wouldn't have never questioned his evaluation if he said he found rot or that any plywood needed to be replaced. Thankfully, the wood was all in good shape and since Bill is a man of integrity, he reported it as such. His crew was amazing - so skilled and hard working - absolute machines. I am impressed with these professional installers at Superior Exterior Systems. They came highly recommended to me by a friend, who had her entire sidings done, in addition to her deck over the summer of 2024. I got to see their work and went with them as well. While their bid was slightly more than the other quotes that I received, I trusted their attention to details in the contract bid and reading materials. No sales pitch. They did not disappoint. While my project were only 1 siding replacement and two new 2 new Milgard window installments, they gave it as much attention. Art and his crew were extremely efficient, very thorough, and respectful of the property. They removed the old and left the property neat and tidy. It was worth the wait. Just knowing that they thorough and highly proficient at what they do gave me peace of mind. The inspection that I had before purchasing my home identified the siding needed attention, in places, immediately. Doing what is always recommended, I contacted three businesses for quotes. All came in at, roughly, the same range. Superior Exterior Systems and Bill came with a recommendation from someone that I knew. Superior Exterior Systems was not the lowest bid. But, meeting with Bill, I was happy with his long-time experience and attention to a few details that he pointed out to me as we did our bid walk-around. I also thought I would have to wait until a slot came open for the job to be scheduled, but they began working the following week. The job is now finished (within a month of going for bids) and it looks terrific. I have had compliments from my neighbor on how great it looks and my nephew, whose opinion I respect, also said it looked like a very good job - well done. I hired Superior Exterior Systems to install Hardie Plank siding on my home. When Bill came out to see the house and prepare an estimate I was a little surprised that he didn't want to actually measure the house - but not as surprised as I would be later. Without ever measuring the house, Bill was not only able to give me an accurate estimate but also order all of the material for my project - over 2500 square feet. Fast forward to the end of the project and my even bigger surprise. Bill had ordered exactly the right amount of material! There was not a single plank too many or too few. It helped that his extremely professional and diligent crew hardly wasted any material but I think this accuracy is a testament to Bill's years of experience and expertise. We thoroughly enjoyed the process of our project. Bill was patient with us, answering our questions, and explaining the correct way to have Hardie Plank installed. He was ready to start almost right away, and when we asked to delay a couple of weeks so we could complete another project first, he was understanding and accommodating. The crew was efficient, patient, courteous, and clean. In addition to the siding, they installed a new front door. When the storm door we wanted to install was unfamiliar to the crew, they stopped and wanted to learn more before proceeding instead of barreling through the project and forcing it to work. Bill worked with us on splitting the job I wanted to do the old siding removal, although I am not sure I would do that again. Superior Exterior lived up to their name! They re-sided the southern face of my 2 story house with Hardie Plank siding and trim and it looks gorgeous. The project was completed in 3 days and the workers went above and beyond. They re-installed my old fashioned metal awnings. They cleaned up each night after working.
