Short story long: we used a local small HVAC business for all of our HVAC needs for years. That company was purchased by a larger HVAC company. We started using that larger company, but after a couple of services, I noticed that every time they came out, they pushed expensive alterations to our system. Then I started noticing that the system wasn't running as well as it used to. I looked up local small HVAC companies and found Ivy. I called, was immediately able to speak with Isais, explained my concerns, and scheduled him to come take a look the next week. He was on time and very friendly, and immediately started taking a look at the system. He took photos showing that the prior company didn't bother to install the filter correctly, didn't rinse the coils, didn't clean out the unit, etc. He took care of all of that and said that the latest expensive recommendation from the other company was not necessary. He also made it easy to schedule recurring twice-a-year services. It's hard to find professionals to trust, especially in the HVAC world, but I completely trust Isais and I'm so happy I found him. Again, can't recommend him or his company strongly enough.

Extremely frustrating experience and a complete waste of my time…read more I contacted Villa Electric because I needed an actual diagnostic evaluation of my home's electrical system and panel--not someone to simply come out, look around, and give me estimates for future work. I explained what I needed and specifically asked what they charge for the diagnostic service. I asked twice and never received a price. Instead, Ramon repeatedly told me that estimates are free and that there would be a charge if the technician had to troubleshoot or diagnose anything. That was exactly what I was asking to have done, so naturally my question was: what is the charge? Somehow I still couldn't get a straight answer. I finally canceled the appointment and hired another electrician. I gave the other electrician essentially the same information, and he immediately understood what I wanted, quoted me his $160/hour diagnostic rate, explained what he could inspect, and scheduled the appointment. Simple. What really sealed my opinion of Villa Electric was Ramon's response after I canceled. He told me that "there's no other company out there in the market" that would do more for customers in terms of pricing and quality. That's a pretty remarkable claim to make about your pricing when you've repeatedly refused to tell the customer what your pricing actually is. When I pointed out that contradiction, his entire response was: "Thank you." I can't comment on their electrical work because I never let the process get that far. I can comment on my experience trying to hire them: poor communication, no pricing transparency, and a dismissive attitude when I explained why I was taking my business elsewhere. There are plenty of electricians to choose from. I shouldn't have to chase a company for a straight answer about what they're going to charge me before I agree to diagnostic work in my home. I wouldn't waste my time with Villa Electric again.

Unlike other companies I got a real person! I was not sent a copy and pasted message asking me to call them at my earliest convenience. I got an actual project estimated cost. My previous review was for comfort master, not Huft. In…read more2019 we had 2 old AC units replaced with one unit that required redoing the ductwork. We let the employee know that we keep our home cold, 68 degrees. We were assured the unit could meet this. My mom used Huft with good results and she had a unit that had to no problem keeping her house cold. During install there were delays and we were without AC in July. At the end of one day they told us they may not be able to return the following day due to prior commitments. I let them know I found this unacceptable and they returned. During the project, one of the technicians hit our brand new car while it was parked across the street. We witnessed the accident. Huft paid for the repair but it was highly inconvenient and frustrating, our car didn't even have plates yet. After the project was complete, our home would not cool below 75 degrees. I kept letting them know I felt the unit was too small for our home and this wasn't what we agreed to. We were told using calculations the unit was the correct size and cooling to 75 was appropriate. I mentioned my mom has a bigger unit and a smaller home. This was the reply I received from the manager, Chris: "If I feel the system is too small for the home I will have a larger one installed, I told you we stand behind our work 100%, but I am not going to just arbitrarily replace it with a larger one just because you "think" it is too small because your mom has a larger one." He was rude, arrogant and unhelpful. Ultimately they replaced it with a larger unit and shocker, it cools to 68 degrees as promised but it was months of back and forth to get to that point. We are having insulation replaced this week and we found out Huft left all the old duct work in our attic. Disappointing. We do use their maintenance plan and have always liked the technicians but given the choice over again we would choose someone else for install given the rude behavior from management and our install experience.
