Cutest place in the hipster downtown of Brattleboro. The entire menu is totally gluten friendly and vegan. We easily found metered street parking. There were a few table outside and probably 20-25 seats inside. We ordered at the register. The menu was pretty typical of what you would expect in a GF and vegan restaurant . Smoothies, juices , salads, bowls and pizza. We ordered the Mediterranean bowl -large $16 , raw pad Thai -large $16 and roasted vegetables. We really didn't have to wait long. We enjoyed looking out the window at the beautiful waterfall. The portions were generous. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Would probably eat here every day if I lived close by. Almost two years later, I'm still paying off an emergency room bill from having an allergic reaction at Superfresh. Someone made a simple mistake, which happens, but the owner refused to take any ounce of responsibility, and stuck me with the $2K bill. Superfresh is a 100% vegan and organic cafe located in the heart of Brattleboro. I have to say I was a bit afraid when arrived to pick up my food and I saw what their pizzas look like. The food here really does look like a bad stereotype of organic/vegan food. But when I tasted my wild mushroom pizza I knew that all my fears were misguided. The pizza is smothered in mushroom pate, spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and vegan cheese. You can either get Daiya or raw cashew cheese. A small ($18) was plenty for me, especially with the huge quantity of toppings, but you can also upgrade to a large for $8. They had already shut down the fryers when I came close to closing so they offered me a dessert instead of the fries I ordered. The mocha cake was rich and decadent, with a crunchy chocolate crust, mocha filling, and mocha ganache topping. The location is really cute and overlooking the water. There's not a lot of space to eat indoors but they had a few tables out on the sidewalk. You should definitely come to Superfresh while in Brattleboro for healthy and flavorful vegan food! read more

Lol two out of the three staff member at the time were extremely rude and not helpful. The other one was so sweet and kind and saved the whole experience. The food was mid and despite being a vegan restaurant, lacked vegan protein.... We ordered a Rueben sandwhich and pad Thai, and both options could've easily have included some tofu or vegan protein but aight. I will say thou that the kale artichoke dip was sooo good. Probably that's the only thing I would get again. The lemonade was so bad. Do notttt get it lmfao, waste of money. The oat chocolate chip cookie was bad, but the ginger molasses one was amazinggggg. I can't believe I almost missed out on this place. It doesn't seem like much on the outside, but trust me you will definitely want to go in there for some tasty ass vegan food. I got the mushroom cashew cheese pizza & the mocha pie & it was so damn delicious! They have all kinds of things to at & drink here so take your pick. There is also original local art on the walls which are beautiful as well as crystals & other things to buy. I probably should have taken photos of food but I am usually too busy eating to bother w/ that. So I took photos of the artwork & the crystals instead. What an awesome little restaurant in downtown Brattleboro! And what a haven for vegetarians! Our daughter found this place and as a vegetarian was overwhelmed with choices. She is used to only having to choose between a few items on a menu, not the whole menu! We all enjoyed everything we had even my husband who Is definitely not a vegetarian. We enjoyed the kale and artichoke dip, mushroom melt quesadilla, ferment bowl, an empress iced coffee and a golden goddess smoothie. The kale and artichoke dip was warm and delicious, especially the raw onion bread. It's amazing that they are able to make such a ubiquitous dip vegan and you don't even miss the usual copious amounts of cheese and dairy! My daughter thought the quesadilla was pretty small and wouldn't be enough but then almost couldn't finish it because it was so full and filling. The bowl was really delicious and I love that it comes with the grain and legume of the day so you could order it every day and have something slightly different, plus you can change up the dressings too! BTW their dressings are especially delicious and I love that they have some unique flavors and are all homemade. Can't wait to come back here and enjoy more of their menu! read more

We're not vegan. Or vegetarian. But we travel to Brattleboro a lot & enjoy wholesome the healthy restaurants & takeout there. We brought our family of 5 in on a slow day & I ordered for my kids, then placed my order for 2 items from the menu for myself. As soon as I told the cashier what I wanted, she turned to her co/worker & made a sarcastic, almost snide comment about the combination of the choices I made from the menu for my order in particular. Talking in front of me, about me, to someone else, in a totally negative way. It was bizarre to be criticized from behind the counter based on what we were purchasing (i.e. spending MY MONEY on & choosing to eat from their menu). This moment of rudeness could have been one where we were helped or guided to "the better choice" (according to her preferences, because clearly she thought they mattered more than mine)-- or even directed to a house favorite of special of the day. But that wasn't the objective, apparently. On top of it, we've had way better food in Brattleboro. Spend your $ somewhere else & you'll save yourself from arrogance & attitude. read more

Our vegan daughter from MA recommended this place, and while we are not vegan, we certainly can enjoy a vegan meal now and then. I had the mushroom burger over salad, w sesame ginger dressing; husband had the same mushroom burger but on their unique raw onion bread, served with a side salad. I love that the dressings were served on the side without our having asked. The mushroom burger was ample in size, and not just a grilled portobello- it's mushroom and lentils and probably some other ingredients, rather substantial and tasty! My husband liked his Vermont maple lemonade, and my jasmine green iced tea was good. The young man who served us was fun to talk to; not only in NYC are waitstaff also actors! The historic town seems to be built around a jetting falls which pours out into the near by Connecticut River. Finding something to eat is no easy task because you have many options to choose from. Like many of the Hudson Valley towns like Cold Spring or Beacon, NY, Brattleboro keeps true to the foundation that has capsulized its history buried in the brick layered buildings scattered along Main Street. One of the classic architectures houses a fantastic find. Superfresh! Organic Cafe. Stolen from the likes of a Curtis Mayfield title track, Superfresh is Superfly! As a meat eater, the flavor of the food is fresh, full, and fantastic. It's the kind of place you bring your newly turned hipster veganemies (i made that up). With a menu only a Vegan would truly appreciate, you have more to choose from then you could have ever imagine. Quesadillas, wraps, flatbread and main dishes on one side of the menu, and on the other side, an equally impressive list of fresh drinks. If that isn't enough, the staff are just as vibrant and with it as the meals and the stories they have are echoed throughout Brattleboro. Worth it for the chocolate banana milkshake alone, and I am getting their book to find out how they make it. We have loved everything we have eaten here. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to Waterbury, and we were excited to try the food being that we love trying new vegan places. However, it ended up being a very disappointing experience. First off, when we walked in, we were semi-greeted with a brief hello and then a strong "Just so you know, we close in an hour". We also let the employee know that it was our first time eating there, yet she offered no suggestions and gave no direction as to how the place worked. We placed our order at the counter, and then had no idea if we were supposed to seat ourselves, wait at the counter, etc. We decided to sit down, and wait for our food. We had ordered a deluxe grilled cheese and a pesto grilled cheese. For two very simple items, the food took an abnormally long time. It eventually came, and the bread was the first red flag for us. It was oddly dense, but also tasted... undercooked? There was also hardly any cheese in either sandwich. Very underwhelming. Then, I'm not sure if it was a side item or a garnish, but we each had some dry lettuce leaves and cabbage pieces thrown in the middle of the plate. No dressing or anything. Very odd. Overwhelmed is almost an understatement of how I felt here... Which is good! I was happily overwhelmed by all the delicious sounding meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'll describe all the wonder that I got to experience here... -Iced Heroine Coffee: iced coffee, maple syrup, choice of mylk, and a blend of herbs -Hot Cakes: small, muffin-like pancakes with blueberries, Vermont maple syrup, apples, and cinnamon -Hashbrowns over Veggies: greens covered with hashbrowns, carrots, red cabbage, sprouts, and deliciousness Superfresh is more on the pricey side, but it is good quality food and great portion sizes. We were planning on eating at a restaurant in Bellows Falls on our way from CT to NH, but there weren't many vegan options as their veggie burgers weren't even vegan. I Googled "vegan restaurants in VT" and Superfresh Cafe came up. Thought it was vegetarian, but when we got there we learned it's pretty much all vegan. Awesome. The food was really good. This place is amazing! As someone with a ton of dietary restrictions, it makes me incredibly happy to find a place like this that is vegetarian (only non-vegan because they use honey), gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, egg-free, peanut-free, and GMO-free. The food tasted great, and their menu is varied and has tons of choices. I got the pesto melt on raw onion bread (the bread was one of my favorite parts of the meal, it far exceeded my expectations) with a side of sunseed scramble (not my favorite, I thought it could have been more flavorful, but still good). I got two drinks, the Kava Kava and the Golden Mylk, and both of them hit the spot. I almost didn't give it 5 stars because the service was a bit slow, which didn't matter to us because we were there to hang out and chat, and a few of the items came out not quite as hot as we would have liked (probably a side effect of the slow service). Our waiter was great though, very friendly and helpful! And the quality and taste of the food was enough to keep that fifth star. The desserts were the best looking vegan, gluten-free items I had ever seen, no exaggeration! I was disappointed I couldn't try one, but next time I certainly plan to. I wish there were more places like this that make it easy for those of us with dietary restrictions, as well as caring about the health of the food they are making and where they source the ingredients. A Buddha hiding in one of the cafe plant pots. I've tried quite a few dishes here. My favorites so far are the mushroom burger and the fancy avocado sandwich but the bowls are also satisfying and the soups I've tried have more than satisfied. Love the golden turmeric mylk, maybe not the shaljit so much, but there are so many options. Come, enjoy drinking from hand-made mugs with inspirational sayings, take in the laid-back vibe and the angled sun, give yourself the time. You won't regret it. This place is amazing, and we'll definitely be getting in some additional meals here before we leave town. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating to my banana allergy (which led to an amazing smoothie). Despite this place being exceptionally socially and food conscious, it was reasonably priced and the vibe was artsy without being hippy-dippy or pretentious. The is a must-eat for anyone, but especially those plant-based. Over, very positive first experience! Really impressed by the creativity of their dishes and the quality of execution. I'm from the SF Bay Area, I've eaten vegan foods in most of the metropolitan areas of the US and then some. Generally when a restaurant excludes this many things by default things get kind of sad and unsatisfying. Not so at Superfresh! One of my favorite items is their intriguingly delightful take on an iced mocha that also had a bunch of herbs in it, and I've had the hash deluxe a couple times and it's tasty and refreshing. The last time we were there I had the strawberry rhubarb french toast special and it was sublime. They also have a serene atmosphere, and beautiful view of the creek, and they are a convenient stone's throw from the Brattleboro co-op grocery. Highly recommend. read more

Located in a classic old New England brick building next to the Whetstone Brook, on the main street in lovely Brattleboro, Superfresh is a welcoming haven of peace, charm, and outstanding food. The staff was friendly, greeting us warmly, explaining all the choices (many choices!), and even letting us stay past closing time. They make 95% of the food right there, so they earn their name. There are many small plates, delicious vegetarian main dishes, and (my favorite) fabulous "design-your-own" smoothies. This establishment is excellent ! So glad I saw this when I came to Brattleboro. The food is organic, fresh, full of healthy flavor and vegan / vegetarian (some meals have honey). They have such a wide selection on the menu and desserts change around. It took a little while to get my Hash Brown Deluxe but it was well worth the wait. Just delicious. And the service was very friendly. The atmosphere is casual clean and very nice with little touches around inside to give you that peaceful-harmony feel. I waited a solid 4 months before writing this review in order to give Jess the necessary time to make it right, but after reaching out one last time with no response yet again - it is time to share my experience. I visited Superfresh! once and loved it, loved the vibes and vegan selection. This past April there was a giveaway publicized on their social media. In order to enter, you needed to follow Superfresh on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, each follow counting as an entry to this giveaway (valued at over $100). I did so - hoping to win something cool from a restaurant I truly loved. And I was so excited that I DID INDEED WIN! It was shared in a public newsletter that I won the giveaway and that she would contact me in the upcoming days. I never heard anything within the first week, so I reached out and at that point I heard from Jess. She asked for my mailing address and said she was packing it up that week (mid May). By mid- July I still have not received my giveaway and NO communication as to when it would be arriving. I inquired again to Jess with the response as follows - "Hi!!! I am SO SORRY this has taken so long. I got stuck in quarantine overwhelm + fear of going to post office, but I'm getting over that slowly and have everything packed up and ready to send Monday 100%.
