Jon did an excellent job and I was very happy to be able to take my bike on long rides, as the original factory seat was way too uncomfortable. Today, I went for some help getting a newly purchased rack mounted because I had no clue how to do it and was stressed out about it. Garrett showed me how to secure the rack, use the pin lock, mount the bike and properly strap it. He made the whole thing seem so easy and was very patient with me. The guys at this shop are very professional and really know what they're doing. Better yet, they seem passionate about cycling and helping others enjoy the sport. I definitely recommend them.

One was behind the cash register. Neither greeted me as they were deep in discussion about something not related to bikes. so as not to interrupt their conversation I perused the bikes for a bit. I was really looking for professional assistance so I approached the young men and again they proceeded chatting and ignored me. I became very frustrated and my wife and I left the shop. We looked to see what else was near and saw that Dublin Cyclery was near. We went there where we received excellent service from Danny (one of the owners). He explained many options including customization. I landed on a perfect bike and it will be at the factory in two weeks. I definitely plan to order through Dublin Cyclery and will be getting my customizations there in shop as well.

Go to any other bike store like trek or Mikes bikes if you buy a bike. Other bike stores don't charge that fee(I called and asked) and the workers at these other stores actually care to please their customers. Wouldn't be surprised if this place doesn't last much longer with their bad customer service. This is my first yelp review ever. While the shop appears to excel in its core rental business--reflected in consistently positive customer reviews and a strong reputation for providing a smooth, enjoyable rental experience--the same level of performance does not seem to carry over to its sales and customer communication practices. In particular, the sales process felt less organized and attentive than expected. Communication around product availability, follow-up, and overall customer engagement could be improved to better match the high standard set by the rental side of the business. Clearer, more proactive communication and a more structured approach to sales would likely enhance customer confidence and satisfaction. Given the success of the rental operation, there is a strong foundation to build upon. I would suggest that by aligning the sales activity that has been primarily driven by the 2025/26 AVA rebate program to closely match what has been demonstrated in rentals would significantly strengthen the overall customer experience. In addition it appears based on investigation additional costs to consumers ( shipping and to some users higher assembly costs) were added when submitting a sales request via the AVA program. Based on these experiences I would not recommend using Pedego for the reminder of the 2026 AVA program.. I hope this constructive feedback is helpful and contributes to continued improvement.

They sell mid-price range bikes, so no $300 bikes or $14,000 bikes. I bought my first new bike here after graduating from Cal, and got my first Wall Street bonus, moons ago. It was my dream bike, a black Cannondale, top of the line. After that, got married and had children and Gene saw me through training wheels through teenage years, then sadly through a divorce. Back in a bike and climbing mountains - loving life! Anyway, today, after trying all night to get my chain back on my new e-bike (not possible on the road) I walked in and George was at the door. He sensed my frustration and said, "Come on in." It wasn't an easy fix. But they worked on it, two guys 25 minutes, and 5 tools. Meanwhile, I walked into the showroom to check out the bikes (tee hee hee). Then I noticed a new coffee and tea station with a couch and chairs, and Madeline cookies. It's just what I needed after a frustrating night and morning trying to fix it myself. Such a mindful and kind touch. People easily complain, so positive heartfelt reviews are gold. Alameda Bicycle is a solid community member and business. Honest. If I don't need something, George will say, "You don't need that." Last time, I picked up some gorgeous Ortlieb panniers (which they installed) and a fix-a-flat for on the road flats. I forgot it on the counter -- it was here waiting for me when I returned a few weeks later. They only had my old digits! BTW, I didn't eat the last Madeline cookie. I saved it for you! I was struggling to figure out how to use it, and the employee ended up helping me pump my bike tire. It's been years, but I still remember this kind gesture from one of their employees. It's hard to find parking around Park Street; it's convenient that they have four compact parking spots and one handicap accessible parking spot in their parking lot.

I observed the sole employee at the register as she prompted excessive conversation with individuals without regard for other customers waiting in line. This included reciting words to convince customers to join the REI membership for rewards... nope, not when you just added extra unnecessary wait time to my visit while I stood in the purchase line. Besides, the staff on the floor already tried to promote this to me, and I wasn't interested. Eventually another register opened, but at that point I was already leaving. In the end I got what I needed without any complications, and that's what matters most.

My wife had been asking me for a Fri fit visor as we couldn't find her other one. I must say I was given exceptional customer service from Hali. When I asked her where something was, she pointed me in that direction, but when I showed her the item on the web, she looked it up and noticed it was in the back, then went and grabbed it for me. I eventually had to ask an employee directly to scan it again and bring the shoes out. Honestly, if the kiosk system does not work properly, I do not understand why it is there in the first place. It only made the experience more frustrating and time-consuming for customers. Please either improve the system or remove it altogether.
