I am a frequent user of this location and no matter the time or day the staff is always friendly and efficient. Ulene is by far one of the most kod friendly stylist in the location. Her communication and talking with kids is an amazing gift, inhave had the opportunity to always watch Ulene work with someone with special needs and she was communicating all the time relaxing the person and making them laugh and smile. Rebecca cut my hair yesterday and she did an amazing job. My hair is thin and frizzy and I showed her a picture and asked her to do her best and she did more than her best! I have been going to super cuts for over ten years, but I generally just walk in to whatever one is closest to where I am in the moment (work, home, out shopping). I have never gone back to the same person just because I have never been disappointed with my cut, but I do think that I will be returning to Rebecca. Also, Rebecca seems like a genuinely nice person and everyone in the shop had a great vibe. i always had a ok experience going to super cuts for a trim (haircut) but its been a quick visit as they seem to be programed to get you in and out in less then 10 minutes but my visit to super cuts in yonkers on central ave was no rush job and chantal the stylist(dont recall her name but i like the name chantal) was very nice and took her time even with the strict covid 19 safety rules. i was the only fool getting a haircut on a sunday morning and I was shocked that I was not rushed like if I was on a assembly line. The hairstylist even spoke to me in casual matter and styled my hair just like I asked . I always assumed that folks who worked at supercuts were nearing the end of a once promising career that started at some fancy hair salon elsewhere but I was wrong and its very rare when I am wrong . I have long, thick slightly wavy hair. I came here to get a basic trim because every local salon wanted upwards of $40 to simply cut straight across. I came here, checked in, but still had to wait awhile. Alexa washed and cut my hair. She is such a sweet girl, and I have to tell you, my hair is PERFECTLY straight. I went in to the yonkers location to correct my hair color because my natural hair grew out and covered the blonde I had dyed it over a year ago which made it look sort of ombre. I said I wanted to keep it looking ombre, I wanted a reddish brown to fade into a blonde instead of looking like a flat 2 tone. i wish I went somewhere else. You know it's bad when they say "itll look better in the light". It never looked better. I waited a few months before I had to go to another salon and stay all day to correct my color. Eventually I just cut it off...... i would give this 1 star but the person who helped me was lovely. I guess I could say it was a challenging job but at the same time if it's something you cant do, then dont do it. After having a bad haircut experience at another Supercuts, I vowed never to go back. But all I wanted was a simple bob, which I figured was pretty easy, so I'd save the money and not go to a more expensive salon. I brought in multiple photos of what I wanted (again, simple bob, no layers, pretty straight forward), and made it very clear what I wanted with the stylist. She clearly had no idea what she was doing throughout the whole thing - I kept having to tell her, no, that's not what I want, to which she made a few snips and responded, "Is that fine?" every time. She also didn't even style my hair at all at the end to make it look nice, I've never had that happen. I've never met a hairdresser that so obviously doesn't care if you're satisfied or not and just wanted to be finished. Do not recommend this place. Also the receptionist had some serious attitude and was yelling half the time I was in there. I wanted a cute bob, what I got was a bowl cut. Super disappointed in my local Supercuts. I've gone here for various things over the years, normally for simple and quick touch ups. Lately I've been having my undercut shaved here. It's a small section just in the back nape area. Takes a total of 4-5minutes and I'm usually charge around $9 and I leave a $5 tip bc the girls do it so nice and so quick! Today I was charge $18.50! A full hair cut price and was told that's what I should have been charged before. Iv been here at least 4 times in the last 2 months and have never paid for an entire hair cut just for a small undercut. For that price I would go to a barber shop and have whole designs done in my undercut. My favorite thing about Supercuts was it's consistency over the years I've gone there, and that it's conveniently next door to my home. Now I can't go back unless I am in fact getting a whole haircut bc paying for a whole hair cut for 5min of work is absurd. How annoying! read more

I've been going to this Supercuts for a few years. Today was my last visit. I was going in to get one side of my head nearly shaved for a medical reason. I have stage 4 cancer. I explained what I wanted, and another stylist said,"No, not that short, I know she doesn't mean that." My stylist said,"Yeah, I know, I wasn't going to do it." WHAT? I tried pointing to a gigantic headshot near my chair, and the stylist said that's not what I want because he had both sides shaved. I was like,"Duh, can you do that on just one side?" By then I was crying. I've lost so much because of cancer, including hair, and I just want people to listen. I realized I had to just sit there and let him finish, and get out. First he made a nice part down the side/top of my head where my hair parts, but then he drew another line about an inch above my ear. It looks weird. I'd explained a lot of my medical issues, the reason why I needed my hair cut the way I wanted. When I left, nobody said good luck, sorry about all you're going through, not a thing. It saddened me. Though I did hear the staff talking to each other about me having cancer. I gave a $5 tip, about 18%, and my stylist seemed annoyed. I didn't get it. He told me I hit the wrong button, but I knew what I'd hit. He said he didn't see what I'd left for a tip. So he printed out the receipt and told me I tipped $5, was that right? I used to work for Supercuts I was even a manager in the Edgewater,NJ location so I know they receive training for 1 week on cutting and have to pass to even get the job. I took my son here because I didn't have my tools at home to do it myself. I told the girl I wanted a 1 on the side and 5 on top.... Simple right? NOPE. She started to fade it and then cut the top it was awful. She proceeded to pull out the trimmer to clean it up and I asked her if she was done she said "yeah why?" Well the side isn't faded properly and there's spots everywhere. She took another 15 minutes fading so I asked if I could just do it myself so I used her tools and fixed the fade. THEN I told her how to finish the job and she screwed it up even more. My poor sons hair looked horrible and we were there for 45 minutes it should have only taken 15. Never again. I got my haircut twice here. Both times I had the same woman. Both times she complained right to my face that how I wanted my haircut was too much work for her. On my second visit, she even told me how I should get my haircut so it would be less work for her. Both times I gave her a tip and both times she never said thank you. As a former hair stylist of this location I can only be brutally honest. 90% of the stylists are unprofessional & overall dramatic. Will you receive good service in account of your hair? More then likely yes. Terrible experience and haircut. My barber was out of town so I decided to stop by, cause I always here super cuts. I walk into three women, I told them my name, and they kinda made fun of it for a second. I asked for a low tape up, but I got a fade instead, she didn't do the line up or use the blade to shape it up. The haircut took less than 10 mins and it cost me17 bucks. It will be quite some time before my hair is long enough to get it cut again, but when that time comes, I will never again go to this Supercuts on a Sunday and I will never let anyone but Elvin cut my hair. He's a genius! This time I had the bad luck to get some girl, Christine or Christina, who didn't look at the picture I showed her, nor did she listen to me when I described what I wanted, nothing complicated, just a cute semi short layered cut with a cute little flip. I can't see at all without my glasses so I couldn't tell I was being scalped, but I did start to have a bad feeling so I put my glasses on and was horrified to see I now looked like a man, with layers too short to wrap a curling iron around them, no hair on my neck or over my ears, and even then I had to stop her. At best, this girl had a bad attitude, at worst, she seemed to be possessed. She either doesn't like her career choice, or she doesn't like being there, and that day, she took it out on me. Now I'm out $300 for the wig I had to buy if I ever wanted to leave the house again.
