Love this place. Marisol washed my hair and Angela cut and styled it. I came in with the impossible... About a month into a bad haircut from someone I had gone to for a year. Angela listened and asked questions using the mirror and my hair when needed for clarification. I knew this would be an "in-between" haircuts... You know the cut you need before your hair is long enough to get the cut you want. She took her time and chatted with me while she cut. I don't know why some people have written bad reviews about Bridget. She's the only stylist who knows how to get volume in my hair and is an amazzzzing updo stylist! I turned heads on Halloween when she gave me an awesome pin up girl updo. First time there was amazing. Second time destroyed my hair, wrong color dye was putting in my hair which you could clearly see it did not match. I went there to get a simple cut since this would be the last cut to get the layers out of my hair. Not only did the person put layers back in my hair, she thinned my hair so much that I can't put my hair in a bun and my pony tail looks like a rats tail. I decided to go to Salon Elle from reading the reviews on Yelp. I am new to the area. So Yelp is my go to for services. I had a root touch up and blow dry by Bridget. She was wonderful. I have to say the best blow dry I have ever had. The color came out amazing as well. Its difficult to find a stylist that can get your hair the way you want, but be able to have easy and great conversation is a plus. Bridget is a star inside and out. I will be back. read more

A few weeks ago a stylist here named Brigette gave me the worst haircut of my life. I told her that I didn't like a lot of layers, and she said OK. She proceeded to give me a 2-level haircut, where to top level of my hair is cut about at my ears, and the lower level is at my shoulders. It looks awful. My husband knew a woman who was standing on the subway platform a few years ago when a crazy person ran up to her with scissors and chopped off a chunk of her hair - this is what my hair looks like, like a crazy hobo chopped at it. Every morning when I blow dry my hair I feel like crying. The top layer is so short, it will take forever to grow out this huge mistake. I'm going to be wearing a ponytail for the whole next year. :( I will NEVER go to this salon again, and I would advise you not to go either. read more

I've been coming to Salon Elle since they opened. Every time I have come they have service with a smile and it has been an overall great experience. They always try to accommodate my schedule. It is a pleasant experience from the moment you step in. They treat every customer here with respect. They take time to consult with me about what I want to do or change about my hair and I know that if something goes wrong they will let me come in the next day to fix it (but thankfully every experience has been great). The owners are two hard-working women and everyone they hire is great! She helped me grow out my hair from a previous bad cut. She then gave me a gorgeous keratin treatment. After 5 months, I decided I wanted my natural curls back AND bangs- Done! She also does my color, which she maintained beautifully with a non permanent treatment while I was pregnant. I always leave feeling much better than when I walked in. I live in Manhattan and have had decent experiences with hair stylists here, but I choose to travel to Salon Elle in Larchmont now - just so I can have my hair cut and colored by Bridget. I followed Bridget from Manhattan because she is a true stylist. Hair styling, cutting, coloring - it's like art to her. She always knows what will look best and genuinely enjoys making others feel beautiful. Her positive energy is infectious, which is another plus! I haven't tried the other stylists there as I'm hooked on Bridget, but the clients all seemed happy when I've been there. The Salon itself is clean and lively - everyone working there is very welcoming and friendly (not easy I'm sure when dealing with often fussy women and their hair!). I like that the Salon is not too far from the station ($5 taxi ride). read more

Bridget was a no show for my appointment to have my hair styled FOR MY WEDDING. I had been to Salon Elle before to get highlights, and had requested someone who could also consult on bridal updos for my upcoming wedding. Bridget did my highlights and they came out well (although the price was much more than they had originally quoted me on the phone). We also discussed wedding hair looks and reviewed some photos. At the end of the appointment, I stood at the front desk with her and the receptionist and scheduled the appointment for the morning of my wedding. We had to make the appointment early, because I told them I had to leave the salon by 10am. Done. Fast forward to the morning of my wedding. I show up, and no Bridget. One of the other stylists says "I'm sure she's coming." 9:15 and still no Bridget. They call her and she says she had no idea about the appointment and could get to the salon in half an hour, which is basically when I needed to leave by. At this point I start sobbing. The three employees there did nothing to comfort me and offered absolutely NO assistance. They ignored me until I left. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY. I frantically called other salons in the area and Donna at Total Image Hair Salon in New Rochelle immediately said "Don't cry. I'm working on someone now, but come here and we'll do the best we can before 10." I rushed there and her client was super nice about letting me jump in so Donna could whip up my hair and have me out the door in 30 minutes. A few weeks ago a stylist names Bridget completely messed up my keratin. When I called to complain and try to get it fixed the manager/salon owner never contacted me and had the stylist call back. Not only was she rude she could not fix me in with ANYONE for over a week which I do not believe as I have gone there before and barely needed an appointment. I came upon salon Elle in my Groupons. I tried a three pack of conditioning treatments. We just came back from two weeks in Puerto Rico and my hair looked like straw. They set me up with Bridget, who had just started there. When the treatment was over, I was floored, I got my "mane" back!!! I've been there now for two and a half years and have bought their 10 pack blowout packages four times now. For over 30 years I've been to salons from Manhattan to a very well known colorist in Mt. Kisco. Let's just say that Bridget is THE BEST. she offers suggestions, will do whatever I ask, and now colors and highlights my hair, as well as weekly blowouts and haircuts. Plus, she thoroughly explains the treatments, what they do, etc. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her. Being in her chair is like a mini vacation. She is beautiful, has amazing hair and is the sweetest, loveliest person you will ever meet. For a woman who is almost 60, I have people on the street, in church, on the metro train, in the gym and the market always come up to me and firstly, say how beautiful my hair is, they love the color and cut. Then they ask where I go and I happily tell them, "Salon Elle". The salon is conveniently located in Larchmont! has a large and free parking lot. It was recently redone and looks beautiful. Very elegant in tasteful shades of grey and zen like. The two owners, both named Lisa, are lovely as well. The staff always greets you, offers you a refreshment and makes for a very nice experience. Being in my 20s, i have experimented A LOT with my hair. I've gone to a couple of different places and none of them really managed to get it right. Maureen at salon elle gave me an AMAZING color and cut. I came in with a picture i had shown to my previous hair stylist who wound up doing the complete opposite. When i showed maureen the exact same picture, she told me exactly how she was going to do it. Greatest part is she used absolutely no bleach on my hair! I was going from brown to blonde and would never do it if i needed bleach. Maureen worked so tediously on my hair. Making sure every piece came out exactly as i wanted. 3 hours later, i looked exactly like the picture with a couple of really awesome twists on it thanks to Maureen! I would much rather sit in a chair for 3 hours and have it done exactly the way i want then have it botched just to sit there half the time. I highly recommend this salon to everyone! read more

My hair colorist and stylist moved too far away for me to continue going to her. I went to a number of local places that were okay but I wasn't feeling satisfied. I ran into Bridget thru a mutual friend. I had no idea she was a colorist and stylist. I randomly started talking about my situation and that I was really concerned as I have my wedding coming up in a few months. Bridget didn't try to sell me on her or coming to Salon Elle. Instead she offered me great advice as I wasn't liking the color and needed to try to grow my hair out to have it longer to work with for my wedding. We spoke on two different occasions and I suddenly realized I was getting much better advice from Bridget than the person who was doing my hair at the time. I decided to see what Bridget might do. I LOVE my color. Best it's been in years. We discussed it and she completely understood what I was looking for and mixed up the perfect formula. With regard to growing out my hair, ever since Bridget has been cutting my hair it's growing and it looks great even though it's in that awful in between stage that you go through. I have never had so many compliments. Bridget is doing my hair on my wedding day as well as my matron of honor. I am so happy we are working together. There are so many thing you have to worry about for your wedding and knowing Bridget is doing my hair has removed that item off the list. I recommend Bridget 100%. My first time at this Salon and I cant believe the poor service and the horror I had to endure. First, I scheduled to do a fill in and pedicure and they didn't tell me they don't do fill-in until i got there. Second, the girl that was doing my pedicure her name is Maricel didn't understand any English when I told her she was hurting me and cutting deep into my toe nail causing it to bleed. I ended up going to the foot doctor and told me I have an infection...the doctor prescribed antibiotics to kill the infection. I should of known better the area was not clean and I noticed there was no sanitizer for the tools she was using. When i asked for her license she became irate and was swearing at me in her language, as if i didn't understand!! I would not recommend to anyone this salon... but no worries they have already been reported. I cant imagine what they would have done to my hair, I would never go there again. My first and last time in Salon Elle and WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!!! read more
