I had a great haircut with Grace. It was easy to schedule an appointment online and read little blurbs about each of the stylists. The vibe is chill but professional. Stylists were hanging out and cleaning and chatting with customers. I liked the sleek ambiance with down-to-earth experience. Grace was great at translating my vague explanation of what I wanted into something really lovely - a style I wouldn't have explicitly asked for. She made it easy for me to manage afterwards - one of my main requests. My haircut was about $90. It's slightly more if you pay with a card (taxes), so use the ATM there. read more

I've been to Luxe twice for a blowout and loved it. Went back today to get my grays dyed over plus an amazing blowout and curl by Grace! Love the way my hair color came out - looks very natural. Grace also did a beautiful blowout and then used a curling iron to make my hair perfect. We also tried out a new middle part on my hair and I think I'm sold! The salon is really cute and girlie with a flower wall, neon light and beautifully lit mirrors at the stations. The staff is both friendly and talented. This cut definitely wasn't worth the pain. I haven't gotten my hair cut since before quarantine. I went into luxe with a Groupon hoping for the best case scenario. So I decided to settle on the reasonable price of a wash cut blow dry with Danielle. I should not have settled. My neck was aching the entire time from my trying to hold steady while she pulled my head so hard that it hurt. In short, Danielle had a super heavy hand. I winced multiple times during the blow dry. It was not a pleasant experience. I know what a haircut/blow dry is supposed to feel like-- this was not it. I find that customer service comes first and foremost in every business. Danielle was rude and cold and didn't really ask me about what I wanted. Thankfully, the cut was mediocre, but I feel like she mistreated my hair. There was a lot of pulling and jerking and I literally had to GRIP the seat because of the pain. In addition to this, she was rushing the entire time. This was probably due to the fact that she had another client waiting. I tipped her despite my dissatisfaction, but I I vouch to never go back to luxe. I'm sorry but this was unacceptable. There were other stylists in the salon who looked over and saw that I wasn't satisfied, and they didn't say a thing I'm sad because the salon itself is really trendy and in a decent location, but I would not come back here. I just didn't feel comfortable or welcome. Maybe the experience would be different if I didn't go through Groupon. I'm not sure what their deal was, but they lost me as a customer. For those who are looking for a professional ... Ashley Lucien is one of the best and kindest in the business. Her new place is named The Modern Babe in White Plains. *After washing it today I realized that the cut is uneven.... They listened to everything I had to say, even though I don't know any of the 'cosmetic terminology', and never judged my decisions while still being honest with me. My stylist, Alyssa took her time to give me exactly what I wanted and made sure that I felt comfortable the entire time. All of the stylists there are kind and friendly, offering me coffee or tea (pre covid but hopefully again in the near future), but it felt like I was visiting with a friend when I was talking to my stylist during my time in the chair. I was really excited to try this salon because all the pictures I saw of blondes were amazing. Unfortunately my hair ended up darker than it was before Ashley did my hair. I expressed I wasn't happy with the results and she said to come back in 2 weeks to go lighter but that I would have to pay 260 dollars to do so. Even though the color I got is NOTHING not even close to what I wanted. I feel like when a customer pays $310 before tip (still tipped $50 even though I was thoroughly disappointed) you should fix it for way less than $260! I don't think this salon can lift minorities hair honestly because I never had a problem lifting my black girl to blonde in one session MIND YOU HALF MY HAIR IS ALREADY BLONDE. So disappointing and a complete waste of all that money. I was blonder before I sat in the chair. I give 2 stars because the place is clean. read more

The most unfriendly staff I have ever dealt with. I called to make an appointment and told them exactly what I wanted and they gave me the price Over the phone , It was a blow dry with waves and was told it would be $45. I get to my appointment and Danielle was extremely dry and unfriendly had a bad attitude not sure what the problem was , she asked what i wanted I told her and halfway through my hair she decided she wanted to change the price to $90, where she got that price from is bizarre to me! How do you jump from $45 to $90???? mind you my hair sits right on my shoulders! The girl at the front desk tried to chime in meanwhile she was the one who gave me tray price! I argued with her and told her I refuse to pay that price! It's literally a blow dry with curls!!! I was livid the entire time she made me feel so uncomfortable I just wanted to run out of there. I was referred to Alyssa by my cousin for wash and blow out. I have never been more pleased. Not only does my hair look healthy the full week before I go back but its smooth and full of volume. I have fine hair and its not very long so doing blow outs usually is a waste for me. But since going to Alyssa its been worth every penny. Been going to Alyssa for several years now. Always gives me a great cut and introduced me to new hair styles that I probably wouldn't of tried without her recommendation. I have large bushy eyebrows naturally, which is fine but I like to have them waxed so it compliments my clean hair cut. I always get compliments here and there after Alyssa tames my brows lol. In my younger years I always went to men's barbershops but i feel right at home when I go to Luxe. Have never had a single issue. I needed to get my hair timmed and colored and made an appointment (very easy to book and accomodate with my schedule). The workers were not only hospitable, by offering drinks, such as water, espresso, and coffee, as I wait, but were very professional and extremely comforting and made me feel right at home and welcomed! One of the hair stylists, with whom I did not make an appointment, made it a point to see if I need anything, while working on her own client--I found that very appealing! The place was very clean and I felt exceptionally at ease, considering the current COVID situation. I asked for a few low lights and a trim and got exactly what I requested--which is very rare. I was very happy with my stylist, who had me leave with not just a trim, but had recommended angles and it looks amazing! I highly recommend this salon, and will proceed to book appointments!!!
