This salon has a very unwelcoming "mean girls" type of vibe. I did keratin and a hair cut. That "GK Keratin" they use, absolutely sucks. I'm a month to two months in and my hair is frizzy. And before anyone comes at me, I did follow instructions, I waited 36 hours to wash my hair and use special shampoo/conditioner for keratin treated hair. As for my hair cut, that was also a joke. I asked to cut all my spilt ends, ended up getting just a 1/4 inch cut. I haven't gotten a cut in years so I know my spilt ends were definitely longer than an inch at least! Lastly, the owner "Cynthia" is just plain rude, unapproachable and unprofessional. When I went to pay, I had the Yelp coupon that's 20% off first service. She didn't want to honor it and was absolutely clueless about this Yelp offer that she has on her own business page. LOL then I showed it to her and she said "uh ok we'll do it as a one time exception". LOL Lady what does that mean? You and your business put this on Yelp? A tactic to lure more clients? I guess so. The review should be one star but the additional star goes to the young lady who washed my hair, who had a much nicer and friendly attitude. read more

I've recently relocated to Rye from Manhattan and was looking for a local salon. After telling the receptionist that I wore my hair short (Reveals IG page shows only long haired clients) and being reassured that they do in fact do short cuts, I booked in for a Saturday 3:45 PM appointment with the owner of the salon. The day of my appointment the salon called me and asked me to come in at 3:00 PM, 45 minutes early, to which I obliged. I arrived and sat for the consultation where the owner seemed incapable of taking my personal style into consideration and suggested several times that I should grow my bangs out. She appeared oblivious to any vibe that was not her own. She then asked me to wait while she took another client and did a men's haircut (remember I was asked to come in 45 minutes early). The front desk "staff" (were they??) was barely checked in when it came to being present and involved. read more

Everyone at Reveal is friendly and always with a smile. It's a relaxing place especially when you are going to be there for a little bit. Nicole's always speaks with me before hand to make sure we are on the same page. And Nicole let's me know what will or won't work with color and hair cuts. Unlike other Salons I have visited. Giving this a 3 based on two experiences. I first came in around the holidays for balayage. My hair hadn't had color in years and I was really exciting to finally try something new. I made my appointment with Cynthia but 75% of the time another stylist was painting my hair. Balayage is all about painting technique and while the end result came out beautiful, I wasn't happy about the surcharge I paid to have Cynthia do the treatment, given she didn't really do it. On top of that I was charged extra for "beach waves" though no one informed me that it was an added fee. Fast forward into our Covid reality and I made an appointment for a much needed haircut. I asked the stylist to clean it up and cut about an inch more than what was dead. She did a TERRIBLE job. She basically free styled the entire cut. She didn't even hold the hair in between her fingers when she cut it, and just snipped away randomly. There are chunks in the back that are erroneously shorter, and in the front it looks like the same cut I had when I was in 4th grade. There is no way to fix it because it's too short. I've been extensively job interviewing these days, primarily on video calls, and it's been painful to try to make sense of my hair. I pretty much resort to the flat iron to not make myself look like a complete child. The charge for this disaster was through the roof as well. I'm sad that this was the outcome because I would definitely have come back for the balayage. I'll likely go to the city instead, where the charge is the same if not less. read more

I went to this salon for a cut and keratin. I expected to have Cynthia since I had booked with her previously, but the concierge booked me with another stylist. I hadn't had a cut in 6 mo. My hair was long and a blank canvas. I gave clear instructions on how id like it cut. The stylist did her own thing. I've never had a worse cut in my life. After sending Cynthia an email, she asked me to come back so she could fix it. Not ideal since I'm limiting my outings due to Covid, but I went back and she agreed this was not the cut Id asked for. She tried to fix it but it's just too horrendously short. So I spend over $400 for a keratin and cut and what a waste. My hair is tied back and I can't wait to go back to my guy in the city once it grows in. If anyone had recs on good local hairstylists I'd be very interested. This salon gets 3 stars Bc the owner is talented and passionate about her work. If you go here, ONLY book Cynthia! read more

I came & requested apricot highlights, and unfortunately was disappointed to see different color result. While it looked okay at the salon, at home I recognized very uneven color distribution, more highlights were placed on one side than other. The highlights were not bright enough. I had requested revision, but Cynthia said just give it time and come back again. Redo- must be allowed. Well this salon, did not care! I found Reveal Hair Salon while looking for a Balayage stylist. I found Cynthia and her salon on Instagram and she posted amazing hair outcomes. I live in upstate CT, so driving to her salon was a trip already for me....but it was a well worth the drive. The salon has about 6 stying chairs and two wash stations. Free Wi-Fi and beverage station. Cynthia is the owner and main stylist. Super friendly and she educated me on how to maintain the color of my hair and all the products I should use. The other stylist across from her is Nikki. When I got to the salon, Nikki was coloring pink tips on a young girls hair. The salon is super friendly and accommodating. The wash girl gave the best hair massage. Overall a good experience and also my hair came out amazing. I get compliments all the time and refer everyone to the salon's Instagram page. I have been going to Cynthia for my cut, blowouts and color (single process + balayage) since I moved to Westchester a few years ago and she always exceeds my expectations - she is so talented and really takes her time to make sure everything is perfect. The ambiance at the salon is also amazing - there is always good music and its bright + the entire salon is decorated beautifully. From the minute you get there the team is so attentive and accommodating making sure you have everything you need (coffee, water, seltzer, snacks etc.). I have also gotten services from Nicole (blowout) and Tonka (makeup / lashes) and would highly recommend them as well. I have gone to Reveal Hair Studio for my past two hair treatments and they have been the best experiences and outcome. Cynthia and Nikki are talented stylists and you receive concierge service as soon as you arrive to the salon. Cynthia is known for being an experience Balayage artist, so that's the treatment I requested from her. I recently went during this pandemic and they have all the safety measures in place. Unfortunately I had to wait longer but that was expected for safety reasons. Cynthia cut and color treated my hair. The salon's assistant washed and massaged my hair. I've been to Reveal in Rye to have everything from blowouts to color to hand tied extensions. I am super picky about my hair and SO thrilled I found this place!
