It was time to get a hair cuts. I told the salinity to only cut the grey hairs and that is all she cut. Does that mean I am getting old since all my hair is grey? Worst Haircut Experience in my life! On July 8th, a stylist (mid-aged woman with a mask) spent 40 min cutting my hair, then I went home, realized it was completely asymmetrical... my left side was faded so obviously higher than the right. Drove back, had another stylist spend 15 min to fix, but she didn't resolve it, looked at me as if I was a hassle. I left, turned around 2 min later, had Chloe attempt to fix it. Chloe was a godsend! There were 3 older ladies there waiting to have Chloe fix the other stylist's eff-up! I'm 42 years old, and I didn't think an experience like this could have happened. Horrible, just horrible experience, all before taking the biggest exam of my life! And the stylist who messed up my hair never said a word, never showed any empathy or at least a "my bad". Whoever hired her needs a neurological exam, seriously! read more

*This review is based solely on costumer service* First, I will say that the salon was tidy and clean which is always a plus at these chain hair places. For me, that's where the positive end. I walked in for my appointment and the hair dresser looked at me and didn't say anything. I responded with my name and she nodded. I then told her I had an appointment and she responded in a rather snotty tone "Okaaaay, we will be right with you." I was quite taken back and honestly considered leaving right then. A few minutes later another stylist arrived and was much nicer. She ended up being the person who was scheduled to do my hair. She put me in the chair and capped me before asking me what I wanted. I told her I would like a short bob since my extensions were on their last leg and a shorter style would make them look better. She explained she didn't do extension work because it was a "liability" if they messed them up. I felt that was a bit odd because one would figure messing someone real hair up would be much worse than messing up extensions. I explained that it was just a few tracks at the back and they were coming out soon anyhow but she said they aren't allowed to work on them. It seemed super odd (no pun intended) but she was apologetic about it. I'm not sure how the cut would have been but the experience as a whole was meh. I think if you're working in a salon being a little friendlier would be helpful. One last note: as I was leaving, the same hair stylist who caught an attitude with me started talking bad about her client who had just left as I was walking out the door. I was in search of a new place for my kids to get their hair cuts since I was so pissed off at the place down the street. I have had hit or miss experiences here. I think Madine said it best that when you add everything up, it is an expensive cut from a no frills place. My daughter had her bangs done and they did a good job. My boys went - one had a good cute but the other ... well it was a good cut, but she did not hear my son say that he has the bottom part sheared but the top cut and she shaved him down. Sadly, he is special needs and he lost it and won't go back. I popped in here on the fly to get my hair styled for my son's graduation. It was raining torrentially and I have thin, limp hair. I have been going to different Supercuts for years, but learned which ones were the best near where I worked. Then Covid happened and I had to go back to the ones near home. Watertown was disappointing in the past years ago, but I gave them another try. The manager is very good, but Karissa might be the best who has cut my hair out of all the locations I tried. She's great at her job, very pleasant, and has a good memory. The rest seem to have good attitudes as I never hear negative comments which happens at some of the others. read more

My son got a hair cut here and hated it he said they cut his bangs to small and cut his ear a bit it was small but bleed a good amount and were able to fix it with a bit of gel i would have given it 2 stars but we could fix it with gel. read more

My experience with Supercuts in Watertown Square is only for haircuts for my daughter (age 11). They do a good, basic job, but their prices are relatively high. Before you know it, when you add in a shampoo and blow dry to the cut, the price is comparable to (if not more than) a child's cut at a "real" salon ... like around $30. A better deal for a kids' cut can be found at nearby at Salon Sama (up several blocks on Mt. Auburn St.). This salon is located in the sort-of new [soulless, generic, franchise-laden] retail block at the corner of Routes 16 and 20. There's something about that place, maybe it's the feng shui, I don't know ... the location seems kind of doomed. I would be surprised if this Supercuts location is still in business a year from now. Even though the parking is free and easy, it just doesn't seem like businesses thrive much in this retail block. read more

I've had my hair cut by several people here. Each time just ok. Some listen to you and what you want, others seem to listen but do whatever. They either don't know how to do what you ask or just think all men should have the same cut. All in all mediocre haircuts but not horrible. Like another reviewer said - the prices keep you coming back. The worst experience: One staff member had incredibly bad body odor and bad breath. She was wearing a sleeveless top and every time she leaned over, her with her armpits came near in my face, I thought I was going to gag. I've been here twice. It can get busy even on weeknights so be sure to call ahead. It has a parking lot, which is great in the winter when you don't want to walk around Watertown Square. I didn't have any issues with the first time but the second time I had a different hair stylist and she didn't know what she was doing. I told her at the beginning of the haircut that I wanted the sides tapered. She did the sides evenly. Then we she asked if this is a good length, I told her to taper it again. She just cut the sides evenly again, just lower. Is tapering a difficult vocabulary word for a hair stylist? read more

I was a regular customer until I found out they don't really follow a line process. It was a customer care nightmare when several customers were disappointed as the staff randomly picked up customers. One customer stated he is upset about this and two customers walked away. Cause I've got a ton of it everywhere except for the top of my head (thank you horrible genes). So after almost 2 years of not really caring I decided to go try out this recently opened supercuts in watertown square. I told the lovely girl there that I hadnt gotten a haircut in almost 2 years, and i didn't care about my hair. She took one look at my hair and agreed with me. I told her to do whatever she thought would make my ever growing bald spot less noticable. She did a wonderful job and explained to me that if i started using conditioner that my hair would thicken up a bit and might not look so, shall we say barren on the top. I'd have to say i've never learned so much about hair. While the prices are a bit higher then I'm used to, but as with everything else, haircut prices go up with inflation. read more

I wanted to go for a normal haircut today as usual. I had been going there in the past. So I checked the Supercuts app around 9.30 and checked in according to their listed wait time for 10am. I jumped in my car and arrived there shortly after 10 and let the staff know that I checked-in online, so they put me in their system. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a 90min waiting ordeal. I sat down and people came in afterwards saying they had called ahead, we're logged in the system, sat down and I saw them all get processed accordingly not thinking anything about it. At 10.30 a family arrived for their little girl's haircut and they said they'd called ahead for 10.30. And when they finally got called up at 11am I got a little suspicious but was still ok as their kids were getting a little edgy with the wait. But at 11.40 after more than 90mins waiting, they suddenly started calling everyone who arrived even after that family. When I pointed that out to the two ladies working there, all they said was that they are a little behind and everyone has been waiting a little bit. She did not even care to reply why they were calling customers that arrived well after me and had later check-in / call ahead times. For them my question wasn't really worth their time while they got people ready that arrived more than 45mins after me. So I left without a haircut. This is the most unfriendly and inappropriate "service" I have ever received. It is very obvious that 1. They don't honor online checkins. Be aware that you will start at the end of the queue. 2. There staff is unable to correctly manage their check-in process and log customers in fairly. And this is still the most optimistic opinion as I'm really not hoping that they treat customer differently based on personal preference. I highly recommend to the franchise manager to look into his logs for Sat, Dec 3rd to find a way to clean up his process or get rid of employees who treat customers like they don't care. There were two ladies working in the morning. In short: Never again and I recommend everyone to stay away if you value your free time! Btw, a very comical observation: when I left the store without a haircut my check-in had already been cancelled and the app showed wait times of 30mins. By the time I got back home they were telling people the wait was 5 min. read more

This place is my nightmare!!! Probably one of the worst cuts I have ever had. I should have known better than to go there, but on Monday you don't have many options. First off the guys who cut my hair was really awkward. He didn't know how to use the computer system to take a walk in and didn't speak at all during the haircut it self. He had a hard time doing a basic fade. He stopped multiple times throughout the hair cut to ask me if it was good. He had to retouch it about five different times before it looked presentable. The guy was just plain inexperienced and it showed. I asked for a 4 on top and 3 on the side, simple as that. The service was ok, the girl did not like it when I pointed that she missed the hair right above my ear. At the end it looked OK from the mirror and I left for home. my friend pointed out that my head looked very even from the behind and he took a pic to show me, it turned out the left side looked like done in a 2 and right side was done like 4, and some spots were an inch or two longer than the rest. Bad customer service by some but also some good. The are busy the last hour before closing so going early is always better. This last time I came in the two stylist were busy so I took a seat with the three other people waiting. A few minutes latter another customer walked in and took a seat. When the stylist was free I got up to put in my name for a haircut. But she tells me someone else walked in ahead of me and asks the guy who came in after for his name from across the room. The other stylist leans over from cutting another customer's hair and whispers in her that I was there first. Didn't matter - none of the other customer said a thing. Even the guy didn't say a thing. So instead of complaining I said well ok. I really thought about just walking out right there but didn't I just stewed. I figured I'd take it out of the tip later depending on who cut my hair. I must have stewed pretty well because when the guy who came in after me was called he finally said I was there before him to the stylist who made the mistake and offered me his spot but I declined. I mean I was upset already why make the stylist even more uncomfortable and get a bad haircut? The other stylist with rainbow hair cut my hair and did a great job. I hope I gave her a good tip. But the other stylist never apologized, sure it was an honest mistake but her coworker did try to correct her and the other customer did come clean. Probably wont go there again. read more

Worst service ever. When I walked in, there were two women in there...I assume one was the dresser the other a customer. I excused myself and asked "how long for a cut." The girl in the chair said just a few minutes and the one who was doing her hair said she can help me. I asked for face layers with out taking too much off of the length.What she really gave me was a trim with no layers. When she was "done" I asked her to dry my hair since I still had errands to run and it was wet. She made it seem like drying my hair was a chore and said if I have to dry it and use a brush the cost is 45$. I left feeling more drab than fab. It felt like she was in a rush to get me done so she can go back to her coworker/friends' hair. I would say save your money and go to a real salon! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The girls there are just so rude and incompetent that I was in shock. I have never got such a bad treatment in a salon. The girl who cut my hair hit my ears a couple of times and just wanted to finish the service. Then when she messed some of it, she started blaming everybody but her for the mess. I went here whilst staying in America for a few weeks, and I have to say, I've never had such a fast, comfortable and great cut in my 21 years on this Earth. I called ahead and was told to come right in, I was seated right away by a lovely girl called Kate who I managed to have a lengthy conversation with about video games and the new Iron Man movie. Being British, I don't generally tip, back home we don't do so but after seeing how great my hair looked and after being able to talk about World of Warcraft for 20 minutes, I tipped around 50%, something I probably would have also done if I was back in the UK. read more

I went in with long hair and wanted to go very short. I wasn't sure what kind of cut I wanted. The stylist proceeded cautiously and checked in with me at each new level of cut. I've tried to give Supercuts in Watertown a chance, but I don't think I'll ever go back here. Both times I've used this place I had the same employee, probably about 19 years old, who works on the weekends. Both times she completely ignored what I asked her to do and screwed up my haircut. She also has an attitude and looked at me like an idiot when I told her I didn't remember the specific number used on the electric hair clippers. I'm a guy with short hair so my haircut should not be complicated. My only request was to leave a little extra in the front because my hair is receding, but of course she did not follow these instructions BOTH times I've used her. On the contrary, I've never had an issue with Hair Cuttery, which is only a few blocks away, in the 15+ years I've used them. I thought I'd give Supercuts a chance since they're relatively new to Watertown, and I did not have any issues with the Supercuts in Cambridge when I lived in that area. Long story short, I will stick with Hair Cuttery in Watertown from now on. read more
