Came here last weekend for what I thought was a quick trim/clean up of the ends. Nothing fancy. Just in between seeing my regular stylist. Well the girl here didn't know what she was doing. She saturated my hair into a giant tangled mess, and then tried brushing it all out with a comb... talk about painful. Typically they'll just wet the ends where they're trimming. Nearly ripped my cartilage earring out in the combing process, as well. Usually if I go into one of these places for a quick trim, I'm out in 20 minutes. No, this was over an hour. The reason I know is because my watch was prompting me to stand up. I did not have time for all this. I had plenty of other things to do and did not plan to spend an afternoon here. I left before the "cut" was finished. I evened it up myself afterwards. Should not have to pay for this type of service. Cannot recommend going here. read more

Can't speak for the service because they weren't open when they were supposed to be. I arranged childcare to be able to get my hair cut, they had a sign on the door that with no explanation said they'd be back at 11. When I came back close to 11 there was already a long line and was told to put my name on a list for an hour ish wait. Nobody takes responsibility here. Shop seems clean enough. I brought my 12 year old son here to get a haircut yesterday. I was greeted promptly and kindly as soon as we walked in the door. I had done an online checkin and it said they were not busy. Unfortunately, their online checkin system does not work in the store and all the stylists were busy with one customer waiting. Although the music in the store was a little too loud, we decided to wait. And I am SO GLAD that we did. We watched as this male stylist took his time and really was detailed on a cut for the guy he had in this chair and my son said," I hope I get him." My son did end up in his chair and what an experience! Aaron took his time before he started to really talk with me and my son about what he wanted and gave us a few different pointers and options on how to get there. I sat in the lobby and watched as Aaron took his time, paid attention to detail and really just took care of my son. He talked with him and make him comfortable. I failed to mention that my son is autistic and getting his haircut can sometimes be difficult. Aaron treated my son as if he was an adult, hot towel on the neck, cleaned up side burns and back of neck with straight razor and then aftershave. He was phenomenal. To top off the experience, what an awesome haircut! We will absolutely be back and scheduling with Aaron! read more

I've had a terrible experience in which my hair was left the worst I've ever had it. It looked absolutely terrible! I swear, I can't even begin to express how bad it was. It was this one lady, who I think was new around December of 2019? She's the blonde one. On the other hand, I had a wonderful and very beautiful haircut twice at this place, both of which were EXCEPTIONAL. I still tip cause I'm not one to be rude. Experience varies though! I came in here with the boyfriend for his haircut. He usually gets it in Lacey but he was in Tacoma because of me and we decided to stop by Supercuts. I didn't think it would be too hard to mess up a guy's haircut so we gave it a try. First off, they do military discounts (he serves) which is a bonus! Second, the lady seemed to be taking her sweet time and seemed like forever... I didn't know guys haircut would take so long. If I can give zero stars believe me I would. I came in there asking for a short blunt cut with bangs that frame the face. I have naturally curly hair and she said "oh wow people don't usually pick a haircut that goes with their natural hair". Which you would think she would know what she was doing. Let me tell you. If you hear her say "hi my name is Maggie" run for the damn hills. This woman knows nothing about cutting hair. I came out looking like dumb and dumber. For the cut she gave me I could've got it for free by giving my five year old sister a pair of scissors and told her to f*ck me up. This woman shouldn't have any scissors near her. Stylist told me she doesn't cut by inches, but by "landmarks" ie shoulder, nape of neck, etc. She would not listen to my request for 2 inches to be cut off. She finally said "oh you just want a trim" and that was all I ended up w/because I didn't desire to fight w/her. What was so difficult abt a request for 2 inches to be cut off? I didn't even step inside to get a bad experience. I called to inquire about the prices, since my mom had been there last year. I asked the young lady on the phone how much for a super short cut (pixie, my mom is 79) she quoted $18 for a wash and cut but to dry it they would charge an extra $15!!! That's crazy, but I only expressed amazement. She told me rudely that she doesn't set the prices and that she only "works there". I said did I sound rude, she said yes. I told her that's not what I feel, I feel confused why a place that is supposed to offer less expensive treatments to be so expensive to dry her hair. I have to qualify this review by saying that the COVID situation puts limitations on chain businesses that are not a factor for locally owned places...and the staff at both Super Cuts and another chain seem to be compelled to comply with company rules that seem somewhat oppressive...for example being required to stand outside on a little mark on the sidewalk when the waiting room is empty and spacious enough to keep mask-wearing people 6 feet apart. I voted with my feet and went to a local place that was staffed by courteous enthusiastic people who went out of their way to make me and others feel welcome...we were able to sit in the waiting area which had available seats far enough apart to be OK. The contrast between the cheerful locals and the cold, Orwellian wanna-be authoritarians at the chain outlet was so pleasant that I uninstalled the apps for the former businesses...goodbye....try to be cooler next pandemic. read more

I don't know why this place is listed as 3-star pricey! It's a really good deal compared to what traditional salons charge, and the cut takes a fraction of the time and honestly looks just as good. I've had many super cuts here for both myself and niece and nephew. Ha is my absolute fav, though. She is really amazing at hair, she always takes the time to listen to my requests and make it happen in a timely manner, and as a super busy person, I really appreciate a quick and quality cut. My wife and I have been going here for years. We always had Olivia cut our hair, as we both have curly hair which is not easy to cut, Olivia always did the perfect haircut! Unfortunately Olivia no longer works there, so I had to find someone else today when I needed a haircut. I just did a walk-up and the only person working was Maggie who normally works at the Lakewood Supercuts. She had five customers waiting yet still told me she could get me in if I didn't mind waiting. I watched her cut the next two customers hair and decided she looked like she knew what she was doing, so I stuck around and waited my turn. I was not unhappy, in fact she did a great job. read more
