I'm never one to write bad reviews but this one ticked me off completely. I've heard bad reviews about this place specifically the older Japanese lady (she's also rude to customers on the phone, I've witnessed this) but I wanted to give it a try anyways. I made an appointment for 3pm on the website at exactly 2pm. Got there at 2:40pm and didn't mind waiting since we got there early. The first thing this older lady asks me when I walk in, "You have appointment?" I said yes for my son (5 year old) there was another person waiting in there before me at exactly 2:53pm when she was finished with a customer she tells me ok, I'll take you after him, I said ok no problem. Shortly after that another guy comes in and she greets him saying "Hi Darryl I'll be right with you" seemed like a walk in to me. At this point it's 3:25pm, passed my appointment time when she's done with the guy before me, after he's done paying she looks at me and says "Oh since this customer Darryl always request for me, I'm gonna take him now, you can wait when the other stylist finish" at that point I'm pissed because why dismiss me to another coworker and also ask me if I have an appointment in the first place when you clearly took a walk in right in front of me? She sees me waiting for a while with an energetic 5 year old who couldn't sit still, why would I want to wait longer when I specifically made an appointment for 3pm? It was unbelievably rude, Seemed unwelcoming, unprofessional and just a weirdo. I told her I am just going to head out. I had to restrain myself from snapping at her but I didn't want to argue with her in front of my child. The MOST traumatizing experience I ever had getting my hair trimmed. I went in today and an older lady cut my hair. I asked for a trim and light layers around my face I was very specific and had a photo to show her to specify what length these layers should be. My hair is wavy and down to my lower back. This lady hacked the back of my head and crown area to about 4inches and left the rest in back long. Never would any profession hair stylist start layers that high unless I wanted a mullet or a pixie cut. I asked her why she did this and all she could say was she was sorry. My 7 yr old could cut my hair better than her! It was outrageous! Her technique was grab a bunch of hair and cut at and angle down until she felt like it was enough. Well, all I could do was cry...cried like a baby. I spent 5 years growing my hair out after major hair loss following the birth of my two children. I have upcoming photo shoots for upcoming work and this has had a major impact on the future of my work. As of now, it will take at least 3 years for my hair to get that length back. Afterwards I went for a pedicure and there was a woman in there's who's son was also a victim to another hack job performed by this woman and we were two of many others. I decide to get a regular haircut and was looking to pay between $20.00 - 25.00. And surpercut was priced at $24.99 with nothing else. They don't tell you nor show you that they charge $3.95 for sanitation. Called "sanitation surcharge". As a safety professional that teaching how to properly sanitize my clients locations. This was no proper sanitation cleaning. But to charge your clients without telling them. This is bs and improper. I'm not going back. Most unaccomodating salon ever. Showed up on Sunday night, 20 minutes before closing for a quick men's trim. They told me they were booked for the night. I sat outside on the phone for the next 20 minutes. Nobody walked in. Then I came om Monday. 2 stylists in there. Nobody in the chairs. Told me they had appointments 15, 30, and 45 minutes after me so I couldn't get a cut. Absolutely unacceptable level of service for a chain that makes its business accommodating walk-ins. read more

I needed to get a hair cut and my beard trimmed. Walked in and was seated right away. The person who worked on me was Zackary, he has a mohawk colorful hairstyle which sets him apart. All three of the employees were pleasant and very friendly. I got the cut I wanted and the trim without any hassles. Zackary also has a beard so in trimming my beard he took extra care to get it right. He used a curvature tool I had not seen used by other barbers to get the side adjusted just so. Since I'm an uncle, I asked about who was good with kids. Wendy the nice middle age lady, is good with the little ones. Zackary is good with the 10 to 12 crowd, I can see that as they would be relating to him over his bright orange and yellow hair style. Reminds me of a big friendly Hawaiian Rooster. lol The overall price was fair and reasonable, with fast and friendly service. I have gone here before and I was glad I returned. Be aware! I went in for a simple wash and blow dry. I was told on the phone a wash was $7 and long hair would be $15 (less if your hair wasn't long). I thought that was reasonable so I made an appointment. My hair is "long" but not super long and it's not super thick. After the appointment, I was charged $37.00. My bill had a charge of $15 for my long hair (it said long after the charge) $7 for the wash, and $15 "misc. service". I asked what the $15 misc service was for and the hairdresser told me it was because my hair was "extra" long. I'd love to be able to show people what "extra" long is. Believe me, my hair is not that long. My mother came in with me. Her hair is short enough that her ear lobe shows and yet she was charged as "medium". I guess short hair would be next to bald, in which case who would need a blow dry??? If I had known, I would not have gone. And, believe me, I never will again. I feel I was misled and taken advantage of. When I attempted to discuss the fact that I was misled on the phone and was not told at the time of the appointment that there would be an additional charge, the response was basically Sorry but too bad. Good men's haircuts, no wait depending on the time of day/year. My stylist was very sweet. However, I felt way too pressured by a particular employee to buy extra products that I don't need. Another lady left early while I was there, her husband was getting a haircut, and she too seemed irritated by the guy's efforts to get her to pay for at least something in the store. This is how you lose customers and I've seen businesses fall from this time and time again. High pressure sales only hurts your company: the customer should always come first. read more

I came in and had my hair initially cut by a Caucasian guy (James?). Though he was nice, he didn't have much of a steady hand and he couldn't cut a faux hawk. His rendition of a faux hawk was terrible, and he just couldn't grasp the fact that a faux hawk has a point not a flat surface. Thankfully another stylist Michelle was there and she fixed it and actually pulled off the job, despite the condition of the initial hair cut. Thanks Michelle for saving it. read more

After staring at me for a moment she said "we are not taking any more customers." The guy just looked away. These two are the worst. I've had this experience before at this place. I only go there because I can't get to a barber until evenings after work. The customer service by these two always stinks. I called them last night (Monday) around 6pm to make appointment for haircut at 7pm. The lady who answered said they are fully booked up and they don't accept appointments already. She said she can let me in at 6:30pm but I can't coz I will be coming from lahaina. Since I'm a regular customer, I took my chance to just go there , arrived at 6:45pm. To my surprise, there was no customer waiting. The two employees , a lady and Sam were with a customer. The lady asked my name and put me in the computer. If they are fully booked, they always tell me/customer upfront that there are 2 or 3 people ahead of you so you need to wait for a certain time. After Sam was done in 10 minutes , he let me in for my haircut at 7pm. Sam is my regular haircutter. I asked him if they are busy that night , he said not really. My haircut was done at 7:15pm and I noticed that there were no customers waiting for their service. I think the lady employee who received my call was telling a lie. They were not really busy . I think she doesn't want to take more customers because they close at 8pm which she has to do more stuff before closing. The latest haircut I did there before was even 7:30pm. I think that lady needs some customer service skills enhancement. I work in a service company too. read more

Had to open a Yelp account just for this place. So upset with the costumer service. Fisrt time I stopped by Supercuts in Kihei was 4months ago. I walked in around 5:30 and asked if they could dye my hair. I knew this wasn't the optimal time but i figured id ask. (closed at 8:00). The man said "yes" and started taking my info. An older woman stated from across the room to the man that they had no time for me due to the fact i hadn't been there before. Huh? I said "thank you" and let it go. Second time i stopped in was this afternoon. Again the older woman was there and she welcomed me in the shop. As soon as i asked for a dye and cut she made me feel like i was a huge inconvenience with her tone of voice and the questions she asked.
