Once I get home I notice the front of my hair is cut above my shoulders. Half of my hair is mid length and the other half is long. My peekaboo was half of what it was.My hair isn't flowy anymore. Now it looks weird. It took me months to get it to look like that. Disappointing and irritating:( it's not what I asked for. Can't even wear a hair clip. Half of my hair falls down.

Prodigy is hands down one of the most incredible companies I have ever worked for in my life. Not only do they treat their employees with respect and kindness, their pay scale is one of the most generous business plans I have ever come across in any salon I have ever worked for. Prodigy is owned and operated by the same guy who owns the Paul Mitchell School in Colorado Springs, so he pretty much scouts the best talent going through those doors and funnels them right into this salon. With that said, the salon focuses highly on continued education for all of their employees, which helps guarantee consistency in quality of service with any of their stylists you choose to see. It is a tightly run ship that helped discipline me into the experienced stylist I am today. I am truly honored to have been apart of this team. And I say team because it really is a TEAM of people that create this well-oiled machine. We all worked with each other, helped each other out, and I trusted every single person that I worked with. Drama was completely absent from this work place (which is rare to say in this industry). I never saw anything that upset the work flow of the staff internally. We all treated each other with respect. This trickles down the the experience of the guests. Many people have read or heard about the memberships which they offer here. Guests pay $100/month for UNLIMITED services (I believe they may be going up to $150 in 2021). There is no catch. You could literally book an appointment every single day for any of the services they provide and it would all be covered by one flat monthly payment. It works just like a gym membership. Many clients don't even shampoo their own hair any more. What's the point when you have a bevy of highly trained professionals at your finger tips? Members also get 10% off of all products and are getting an entire team of beauty experts as opposed to just one stylist. The membership covers the cost of haircuts, hair color, highlights, toners, deep conditioning treatments, scalp treatments, facials, facial waxing, makeup applications, updos, and pretty much any other service they provide (except for Oleplex and extensions, which members still get 10% of these two services if they choose to use them). So with that said, people always wonder how we got paid if they were sitting there getting $400+ worth of services in one visit for only $100/month, come back the next day, and get a facial only to have it all be covered by the same cost. The business plan is completely transparent but basically, the fees from the memberships collected are all split between the stylists depending on how much work they've done. Each service is worth a certain amount of points. At the end of the pay period, the amount of points becomes a percentage of the collective membership money. In the most simple terms: every time someone signs up for a membership, every person's paycheck goes up. Every time you come into the salon to get a service done, that stylist's paycheck goes up. That's why when people say, "I'd be in here every day!" no one complains. Do it. Come in everyday if you can get an appointment. They are getting compensated for all of it. Just don't forget to tip; tips are not included in the price of memberships. They also fly all of the staff to California every year for a retreat, where they rent a gigantic house right on the beach for a week and pamper the employees with meals, massages, and advanced education. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Check it out for yourself. It's truly a special place you won't find anywhere else.

I wasted a lot of money hoping for pretty hair! I was resigned to just deal with the situation as it was and avoided getting my hair cut or styled - let alone colored in any way until an event came up where I had to do something about my current "do". And again disappointment and an empty wallet to go with it! Ellen Regina was right down the street from my house and I thought "Let's give it a shot". "Can't be worse than what I had in the past right?" This was the best decision I ever made and she is worth every penny I pay her! I tell this to everyone who asks about who does my hair! My hair has never looked better. Ellen worked with me to enhance the color with various combinations of highlighting, gave me a style I can handle myself and has helped me to improve the quality and condition of my hair. Ellen is a rarity in hairstylists and over the years she has been doing my hair, I can honestly say I have never regretted one appointment or one dollar spent! I look forward to every appointment, knowing my hair will continue to look the best it can. And over the years, Ellen has become my favorite hairstylist of all times and a great friend!

Leaving here today, I couldn't be more upset and also feeling a little insecure! :( Came in for a simple braid, took three attempts for me to get told it's "too difficult" because of my layers, and insisted my stylist did a "bad job." I left the salon today extremely disappointed, and with my hair the SAME EXACT WAY it was before coming in. And I'm still getting charged? If a customer leaves upset, something should be done to make compromise. Ellen said she wouldn't discount me because it took too much of her time. Yet it did of mine too, not returning.

My 90-year mom lives at Brookdale Assisted Living facility, just a couple of miles from this salon. In January we started looking for a local salon who was familiar with wash and style for a true senior. I made a few calls and was assured this was a place. We had one appointment with Dottie, who was very sweet, but her hours didn't work with our schedule. So we opted to stick with Claudia. Claudia's skills were definitely not at fault, and we were happy with her work. However, since February, I noticed that her pricing seemed to be going up. Started at $30.00 (always + a tip) for a basic shampoo and style. Last week I noticed the price was $35.00, but Claudia never mentioned the price increase, so I paid it. Today, my cousin took mom to Studio One, and I mentioned the price increase. I asked, if she thought of it, would she ask Claudia about it. Well, mom got her usual shampoo and style and was charged $40.00 + tip. A 25% increase for the exact same service within 2 months seemed excessive. My cousin paid, then texted that Claudia mentioned she "charged extra" when she had to help a senior to the wash bowl, and to sit at her station.Wha?!? When I'm with her, I do ALL the heavy lifting, and my cousin tries to let my mom do what she's comfortable with. After hearing this, I texted Claudia that I thought her price increase(s) were excessive. She called and said the same thing to me that she told my cousin. When I said, I did all the work when I went with mom, she spoke completely over me and said, "here's a solution, I won't do her hair any longer". Dang right, Claudia! As I mention in my text, I wouldn't let her do my mother's hair if she was the last hairdresser in COS. I also told her she was a price gouger. I didn't mention that she's just not a very decent human being. There's a million hair studios in COS, but this is one we'll be avoiding in the future.
