I've been using Supercuts for years because it's quick, convenient, and affordable. If you're on a budget and looking for no frills, this is the spot. It was founded in 1975 and there are approximately 1,900 locations. I love that you can book an appointment on their website. The prices for a haircut has risen; I used to get a $15 haircut, now it's about $25, still affordable. I was given a gift card and I was able to use it with no issues. Sign up for their e-mailing list to get coupons. This one is located in the same plaza as Big Y. Parking is ample and the hairstylist was friendly. I showed her pictures of the style I wanted and she delivered. I haven't tried out their hair coloring or highlighting services yet but I definitely recommend a haircut! read more

The service here was inadequate. When we got to the place we had trouble scheduling an appointment even though in the car we already pre planned it but because the name wasn't listed for my son and listed under a different name we had to redo the whole process. Then when my son went to get his haircut they let a novice do his haircut which resulted in multiple mistakes and I had to ask the person next to the novice to take care of the haircut which they did fix my sons haircut but he told me the pain from the metal razor was far worse than the one they would give him in Bristol. Not only that but the haircut took nearly an hour compared to Bristol which would do the haircut in a lot less than that. The only positive I can give this place is that the people are nice but that is about it. If you are going to go to Supercuts Bristol is a good option but don't come here! read more

Phase I of Connecticut's reopening started on June 1st as outdoor restaurant seating, and a slew of essential businesses were given specific instructions on how to reopen. One of those Phase I businesses were hair salons, so that's why I was able to get a badly needed haircut at Supercuts this afternoon. Of course, the Post-Covid process is very different from the Pre-Covid process. No walk ins allowed, you have to register on their app or website or call for an appointment. When you get there, don't even think of coming inside, just stand outside by the door. Someone will come out, take your temperature and take your name. And of course, wear a mask ! Niraj did a great job transforming me from looking like the Wolfman into a reasonable facsimile of myself. He wielded those scissors like a surgeon and was super meticulous. Best blow outs for the price. I go every other weekend and they always got me in. The staff is quick and efficient. It's affordable so I don't expect luxury treatment. I always walk out with a fabulous blowout. Now kids hair- wow. They are quick with the cut and make your child feel special. Wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Listen to the poor reviews as they're 100% accurate! If you're a novice, you shouldn't be charging to cut hair or cut hair on clients in general. I took my fiancées grandfather here for a simple haircut. I told the gal what he wanted and she then seemed flustered and intimidated, so she passed him along to another gentleman because he's an actual barber. The barber did a great job though! Circling back to the young lady, while grandfathers hair was being cut, I literally watched the girl butcher another clients hair as she didn't listen to what he said about how he wanted his fade and cut. When you're asking another stylist or barber how to do this and how to do that, it's scary. A very good barber, but I wouldn't recommend based on the attitude of the girl, lack of confidence and just her customer service in general of those that just walked in! read more

This review is going to be uncharacteristically negative and for a very good reason. I've got my haircut at Supercuts in Avon for years and years. For the most part it has been easy to get a cut there at a fair price and they do a good job. Today I went in for my 3 PM appointment and found my favorite Heather working with Stacy. They were a couple of people in there at the time and a couple of people waiting which is not unusual for a Sunday afternoon. Stacy seemed to be discombobulated over the reservation system and was constantly giving instructions to Heather which seemed to unnerve Heather. The "management systems"conversation between the two of them in front of customers was absolutely unnecessary and unprofessional. The single most important person in any business is the customer who pays your salary. Without customers you have no job and you have no business. I've been coming to Supercuts Avon for over a year. My stylist is Stacy S. She's awesome! She's professional, always smiling and she has over 25 years of experience. If you need a color? Supercuts can color your hair for not a ton of money. My scalp was in terrible shape, itchy , my scalp was a mess!! Since coming to Supercuts my scalp is healed, no more itch.! First of all my appointment was scheduled for 11:15, and I wasn't taken until 11:30. When I was finally seated, I asked the stylist to do just 1/2 an inch off the ends to clean up my hair. She proceeded to tell me that 1/2 an inch is ""ridiculous", and that no one would notice that. I mentioned how that is what I am most comfortable with, and she said "it's not worth it, especially if I come monthly." She laughed and said "shame on you." By the end of my haircut, way more than 1/2 an inch was cut off. Supercuts needs to do better. I should not have been spoken to in this manner. I am the paying customer and the stylist needs to do as the customer asks. read more

I have been a Super cuts customer for 10 years and three different states. It's cool that I can get the same " super"cut no matter where you. In the past five years i have been going to the shop in Avon, CT. They have made many improvements. The staff is busy but friendly. On my last trip the manager knew I was having a hair emergency and cleared time in her schedule to do it. Best cut and color that I have had in a while. I called to see availability for next appointment to change my appointment. They answered the phone, without realizing it, there were several staff members that were heard clearly complaining very rudely about the clients the had already to day. After yelling hello several times someone rudely commented in background that someone was on phone and kept on talking. Once they finally chose to answer the phone, the women, was completely rude and wouldn't answer question and in a very abrupt nasty tone said so you wanna cancel. Went there this Sunday for a haircut ( specifically showed a picture with the style I wanted). Girl name Becka ruined my hair totally ! I was very very disappointed and ask her to fix it ( the length was not even and far away from style I showed her). She told me she spend so much time on me and had other customers . I was almost crying and feel terrible about my new look ( she still doesn't want to fix anything) but told me If I don't pay her she will call a police . Avon Supercuts. Don't go unless you want a novice to screw up your hair. Stephanie B lead me to believe she was someone else (Stacey} until she had stated to cut. The fastest and worst haircut ever. Took the scissors out when I got home and fixed it as best I could. Yeah, I cut hair - just not my own. And the hot towel - forget it!!! Rushed my appointment in order to get to walk ins. You can tell when there is focus. This was a chop job. Can't even stand with you as you pay and tip. Yes, stupid me tipped on a really POOR haircut. Do yourself a favor and find a salon owner you can rely upon to do a good job and treat you like they want you to come back. The deception gained ONE cut. No repeat business here. Stay away! My kids have always gotten decent haircuts until our last visit. My son's hair was so horribly uneven, it looked like he cut it himself. I didn't notice at first because the stylist brushed it to the side. I asked her to cut it shorter where it sticks up in the back and she argued that it needs to be longer so it will stay down. No amount of hairspray or gel keeps those strands down for longer than 10 minutes. The next morning, his hair was all over the place. I couldn't keep the back down as expected, and I realized how insanely crooked the front was. For the first time in my life, I called to let them know I wasn't satisfied and wanted to come back to have it fixed by another stylist. I was asked to come in that Friday at a specific time so the person I was speaking with could fix it herself. He went to school (his first week at a new school) with this hideous haircut, and then I left work early Friday to get him to his appt. He was embarrassed to go back but i promised him a different stylist would fix it. We walked in, and only one person was working - the one who gave him the bad haircut. I asked for the woman we had the appt with and was told she wasn't working today. No one else was working besides her, apparently. Then she rudely asked why and when i told her she pointed to the chair and told my son to go sit. Thanks but no thanks. We will never go back there. read more

Don't go here. I went here because it was affordable but that didn't mean I wanted to go cheap on my haircut. I've been to other value hair salons in the past and I've never walked out with such a poor haircut before. The stylist only cut half of the hair on my head, I don't know if she expected me to pay more for the other half, and she used so much water and spray that I didn't realize what had happened until that night. I don't care how much I have to spend or where I have to travel, I'm not going here again. read more

This was surprisingly one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. I took a risk going in blind and asking her to take about 7 inches off my hair. I now have an above the shoulder, layered haircut. My hair is naturally curlyish/wavy and I have to say, she cut it perfectly. I bet it will be very easy to style in the mornings before work. Much to my surprise, they also do eyebrow waxing and I was able to do this as well. My eyebrows look great...I've got an awesome new hair cut and you simply can not beat their prices. read more

I "called ahead" to get my name on the list giving 20 minutes notice. Two people "walked in" just as I was entering. I was told that even though I "called ahead," those two people go before me. I then asked why did I "call Ahead" and what is the benefit? I was told it got me on the list? I really think this is their way of just forcing the cattle into the shop. i have had my hair cut several times at Supercuts- each time i was quite satisfied. i went the other evening and although the haircut was good the attitude was -to put it mildly- lousy... bad enough that i will not longer have my hair cut there. the young woman who cut my hair did a good cut BUT..... she never asked if i wanted y hair washed, never asked it i wanted her to low it dry, never asked if i wanted any "products" put on my hair. i am quite aware that these things are extra - and i would have appreciated the offer- and would have had these things done. it is not her place to determine whether the customer can afford these services or not- but not to offer is a total turn off. needless to say i will no longer spend my money where i received poor quality attitude. i did notice that the customer following me DID get offered having her hair washed and DID have it done. read more
