She gave me a beautiful Bob cut and a straightening treatment in June. It is now nearly January and I am still so happy with the results. I originally had difficulty with styling until I purchased a blower brush and can style with one hand. Wendy did a wonderful job and I continue to be thrilled. I do appreciate that the owner was always willing to make things right, which says a lot about their commitment to customer service. Unfortunately, I reached a point where I couldn't continue trusting that I would leave happy. My biggest frustration was with the lack of professional accountability from some stylists. If a result doesn't look good, it should be acknowledged and addressed rather than pretending everything is fine. Consistency and honesty are just as important as talent, and that's ultimately why I decided to go elsewhere.

I respect Scott and his honesty, wanting my hair to be healthy- when I was young and I wanted to highlight or color it, I remember him vividly saying no because I had beautiful hair and then finally reluctantly agreeing to it. I went to Akis for many years before he moved on and he was a kind soul who I thought of fondly, almost as a friend- I trusted him to chop off 10 inches of my hair and I was one of his first hair color clients. I drove to The Asylum for years from NJ! It was a four hour drive in the car each way but I truly trusted Akis and it took me many years to find someone else who I like as much as him... I just wish I lived closer and could visit Scott now that Akis moved on. He really wants your hair to be healthy and for you to look good and not spend a fortune. The Asylum is a sacred, special place and I miss Scott and Akis very very much!

My teens Dad is abusive and took him to In/Style because it is very cheap and told them to cut off all his beautiful lush hair. Before my teen could have a say and tell them to leave it long as he was growing it and just cut around the ears and a little at the nape of the neck, the stylist hacked off hair in the top middle. When my son spoke up (as his Dad left now that the damage was done) they then had to "even it out". I am not surprised at his Dad, but the stylist should FIRST ask a 17 year old how they want their hair before hacking at it. If a parent tells a stylist how a 17 year old wants their hair they should know the parent either has dementia and thinks he's a little kid... or is abusive. My son was very disappointed and now has to put alot of product in it until it grows back. I gave the salon 1 star (instead of negative stars) because they are very affordable and once my son spoke up they didn't continue to go shorter.
