I made an appointment online because this place is close to my house and they had evening hours. (I know they aren't open late every day, but today was Tuesday and I was able to get a 7pm appointment.). Michele cut my 11 year old son's long hair. She did a great job and was efficient. I'll definitely come back. read more

I've been getting my hair styled at this salon by the owner Rosetta, for at least 20 years. I'm not sure why I've never thought to do a review until now. I couldn't imagine putting my trust in anyone else to do my hair. I love Rosetta's expertise and honest opinions and she makes me look my best. We've been through bobs, slide cuts, perms, you name it. I had my bridal party done at the same time as my wedding hairstyle. I brought my coworkers in for a night of wine, apps and fun tips and tricks for the latest styles. It's a really great salon and I never have a problem getting an appointment. read more

Tracy is a phenomenal colorist/stylist. She is well versed in color theory, was able to achieve desired color, knowledgeable about products with an extensive well-rounded background in all things hair. Salon is clean with a open floor space, very modern - new vibe. 10/10 would recommend. Front staff is very kind, all employees were polite. Very chic clean place to come for a reasonably priced spa day. read more

For the past few years I have been wearing my hair very short - it is grey/white and fine - Rosetta has been cutting/styling my hair now for 5 years and is AMAZING. I had brought in pictures of a style I really liked and she talked me through why it would not work (without a ton of effort to style) - and suggested a modification - I love that she listens, explains and enjoys her craft! I have had 3 or 4 different styles - and each has been fun to play with - and the best part is...even when my cut starts to grow out...I know what to do to make it look good (thank you for the coaching Rosetta!). If you are looking for a salon where you will be matched with the right stylist (Rosetta has a staff of diverse and skilled stylists - each has a set of specialties, and she works to get clients in the "right chair" try Cutters Edge. read more

I have been coming to Cutters Edge for several years. If you have a head full of curly hair I am sure you know how frustrating it is if the cut is not just so. If you want to fall in love with your curls again, I highly recommend you call Cutters Edge and ask for Rosetta. Embrace your natural curls!!! I did! And if you ever want to blow out your locks, every stylist there does an amazing blow out. My fave is the blow out with a beach wave for a special night out. I posted my natural curls and a blow out. Cutters Edge has amazing colorists too! read more

After going to an upscale salon in Glastonbury and spending over $1000 to get "rose gold" with no success I found Rosetta at Cutters Edge... not only did she nail it on my first appointment but she is super honest as to what I can and can't do without major damage to my hair. Her and all her Stylists are very up to date on current trends and my hair has never felt or looked better. Try them out I promise you will be forever grateful! read more

This place is great - period. From Wendy at the front desk, to Amanda the owner. The salon is top notch and rivals any in New York or other large metropolitan area. They are especially good with color, and always very accommodating. read more

I've been a client of Morgan at Cutters Edge for 2+ years and I honestly would never go anywhere else. I came to her with the blackest of hair wanting to be blonde. She never once gave me false expectations or got my hopes up, she always told me the exact truth about my hair and the condition it was in. I trust her with my life now, and I couldn't be happier. She is an amazing stylist and blonde specialist. She made my dream hair come true!!! Best salon experience by far. Everybody is very friendly there, and I'm always greeted with a smile at the front desk from Jan, it's the little things. Truly love this salon. read more

I tried many CT salons when I moved up from Baltimore and had no luck until finding Cutter's Edge due to a recommendation from a friend. I was lucky enough to find Erika who has done an incredible job EVERY TIME I've gone. I'm very picky about my hair and it was terrifying having to try out new stylists to see if anyone was at the level I was used to with my previous stylist. I actually prefer Erika to my old stylist and the salon as a whole is wonderful. Everyone is friendly and helpful. You get a call a few days in advance to remind you of your appointment and to make sure you can still make it (so if you need to cancel, so you won't be charged any extra fees). The stylists regularly attend workshops and classes to learn new techniques and the gals offer you water, coffee, tea or wine when you arrive. It's always a relaxing and fun experience and most importantly, I always leave extremely happy with my hair. The salon is upscale, but not too pricey- especially for the end result and experience you receive while there. I have seen clients of all ages and styles walk in and leave happy. From edgy and punk rock (my hair happens to be blue, currently) to subtle and sophisticated, they really can do it all. :) I HIGHLY recommend Cutter's Edge and Erika. read more

Cutter's Edge advertises that it is open until 4pm on Saturdays; the front door states "walk-ins welcome". I would not have walked through the door if it weren't for these two factors. The receptionist was welcoming and conversational, and I told her I was a walk in. She acknowledged I was a new "client" and signed me in, stating that one of the employees was finishing up another client and would be with me. Having walked in on a Saturday, I did not mind a wait. This first impression became the first and only positive thought regarding my experience at Cutter's Edge. After a 15 to 20 minute wait, and with about two hours remaining before the supposed 4pm close, the hair dresser finished up with her current client, and proceeded to whisper with the receptionist. The receptionist then approached me and stated that the hair dresser needed to leave and could not accommodate me. Despite other employees on site, no one ahead of me in the waiting area, and the salon supposedly open another two hours, she asked if she could schedule me an appointment for Tuesday. Seat a customer at a restaurant, make them wait 20 minutes for service, tell them that you don't have time to serve them, and ask them if they'd like to book a reservation for next week: are you seriously going to expect them to return? If you are looking for an establishment with a real "Edge", that respects your time and values your business, this is just not the place. Drive a little further and you will find Noli's Salon, 2409 Main Street, Rocky Hill. 40 five-star reviews do not lie. read more

Very clean, professional, and friendly environment! This salon has the look, feel, and results of a high end salon without astronomical pricing. I have been coming here for a few years now and always see Elizabeth. She gives her professional opinion of which styles and cuts will look best on me and factors in my lifestyle and how much time/effort I will be putting into my hair each day. She always seems to be going to hair shows and learning new techniques as well. All the employees definitely have a passion for hair and I can tell they love their line of work and being around their clients. Even though I do not dye my hair, I have seen every color of hair in that salon and they are not afraid to try any trend or style. Most of the women who work there have photo books of real clients they have worked with, so you can see how the cuts actually look instead of from a generic salon book. My father even started going here instead of a barber (!!) I highly recommend this salon and Elizabeth if you live in the area! read more

Very elegant atmosphere, friendly staff, and extremely talented stylists. I've been going to Cutter's Edge for years and they have done my hair for prom, my wedding, numerous bridesmaid events, and now my everyday, quick and easy 'Mom' style. Everyone I've referred to Cutter's Edge has loved it. There are many stylists who are experts at repair and color techniques and can fix even the most difficult hair problems. I'm confident that they know the most modern techniques and their results are worth every penny you pay. I've been here 2 or 3 times for a cut and have had a good experience every time. I will be getting a highlight here in a few months so I can't give it 5 stars until I see how that comes out. But as far as hair cut, can't go wrong here. read more

I have never been more satisfied with my hair, over the past 2 yrs my hair has made an amazing transformation under the care of the best skilled stylists I've ever been to. It always starts with the good customer service at front desk to the product lines being used (I'm so picky when it comes to product) the absolute hands down best cuts & colors ever and to me that means a lot because I'm always changing my mind about my hair, Rosetta is very straight forward and tells me how it is and what to expect always & she's always right! lol it's a clean elegant & fun salon, Rosetta & her amazing staff make up a wonderful team! I highly recommend this salon. read more

Cutters edge advertises that they offer nail services. Twice I have attempted to make an appointment for a pedicure. I called the main number as listed for cutters edge and was told that they do not book the manicure and pedicure appointments because they book their own appointments. They told me that they would have to have someone call me back. I asked when they thought I could expect a call back, would it be within a couple hours and they said they had no idea. I gave up at that point and decided to go elsewhere. Just last week I decided to try them again. I called the main number and was told that they booked their own appointments and that they would have someone call me back. This time I left my name and phone number. It has been several days now and no one has called me back. So the fact that cutters edge advertises that they have nail services is very misleading. I have now wasted days waiting for them to call me back and I'm now scrambling for an appointment somewhere else. I will never call cutters edge again. I do not recommend. read more

I spent 5 hours here having simple highlights put in my natural dark hair. I left with fried greenish destroyed hair. I picked this place because they advertised such nice before and after pictures on social media. I dont know what went wrong but honestly the worst part was they ignored me as I tied it up and walked out the door. Thank you to Giani at sculptures in Newington who felt confident enough to fix it a couple weeks later. read more

I have been going to Cutter's Edge for years and actually travel down from Boston just to have my hair done by Lorraine -- I wouldn't let anyone else touch it. She is a color wizard and does the most incredible job with shaping my thick hair. Her instagram, @hairbyrain, is updated often to show her current work, and if I message her with questions about my own hair or ask about one of the styles I see, she always gets back to me with suggestions or ideas. She is also honest, which is so important in a stylist - Lorraine will always talk to me if she is questioning something I think I want. I've come to trust her so entirely that I can just say things like "I want to change it for summer" and she will know exactly what to do. I've referred my mother, both sisters, friends and cousins to her and every single one of them is now a regular. The salon itself is immaculate, the girls at the desk are always incredibly attentive and all the other clients I see walking out from other stylists look gorgeous as well. I highly recommend this salon! read more

Imagine walking into a salon with great upbeat music playing and hairdryers whirring while stylists and clients are all talking and laughing. Now imagine YOU are sitting in one of those chairs, with a glass of wine in your hand? Yes- this could be you! I have been coming here for a few years and Mike has been doing an amazing job on cutting and coloring my hair and also my daughter's hair. He listens, he suggests and always makes sure the final result is what you wanted. I walk out of there looking and feeling like a queen! The entire atmosphere is so wonderful too! You won't be sorry if you choose this salon! read more

I love this place. I have only had my hair done by Tiana, but while my hair is being done, I love watching the great work done by the other stylists. The atmosphere in the salon is professional and upbeat, and the styles are hip and current. Since I have been going to this salon, I have gotten so many compliments on my look. Tiana is not only great with finding the cut that looks best, she is also very personable and caring. My color always looks awesome. Cutters edge was my first experience with a professional salon and it was the best decision I ever made for my hair. I came in the first time with purple/gray awful looking hair that I had ruined by dyeing too many times on my own. My goal was to be as blonde as possible and I was not expecting to achieve it on the first try. Somehow Micheal was able to work magic in one session and I ended up with flawless white/blonde hair. I get it done by Micheal every time and I highly recommend him! He always goes above and beyond to make sure my hair turns out exactly how I want it. I'm amazed with how perfect it looks every single time and it's never been healthier than it is now. I get so many compliments every time I get it done and I tell everyone to go see him! read more

I've been going here for years, and Michael consistently does a fantastic job. Mike is exceptionally nice and really makes me feel comfortable and welcome from the moment I sit down. He always begins by asking what I'm looking for and then gets right to working his magic. He understands what type of highlights I want and they always look outstanding. His ability to carry on a great conversation really helps to make the time pass easily and comfortably. The cuts he gives are fantastic! The last one was simple but sophisticated in its layering and style. It was a much needed refresher on my flat and tired hair. I got so many complements on my hair after, which made it l even better. The salon is cozy and nicely decorated. I really love the team atmosphere, all of the stylists freely confer to optimize your individual results. I'll keep coming back here to see Michael for sure! read more

I came here for a blow out. Minutes after arriving I got a call that I had to leave within 45 minutes. Rosetta got me in and out quickly but I didn't feel rushed. I would highly recommend this salon. The décor is beautiful as well. read more

My appointment was with Nicky and I explained to her that I wanted a change, but didn't know exactly what I wanted or what was best for my skin tone/face shape...also something that was low-maintenance. I booked a Devacurl with Rossette, when I called to book and asked about pricing, they said it's $70 for a regular cut but a deva cut is $125. I paid $50 deposit and I booked based on that, went in and rossette told me she wants to do another cut on my hair because of the way my curls are, I agreed because she's the expert, what she did is used a shearing scissors to debulk a few areas, she cut about 4-5 strands dry, then she washed my hair, did a very regular wet hair trimming. As I walked out they charged the remaking $75 of the Devacurl that wasn't done. I didn't realize until 3 days after that I was charged $125 for a regular cut. I thought this must have been a mistake the front desk didn't realize that I didn't have a deva cut. When I called, Rossette told her to tell me that she did a "SEMI- deva cut" and that it was a difficult cut so if I came in another day for a cut that is not a"Devacurl" she would charge me the same thing!!!!!! I had a very regular hair cut with a very old shearing technique that they use in every kids salon, my hair has regular curls, not "difficult" a bit, I have had a deva cut before and it's nothing compared. I'm disappointed and I won't go back again read more

Love love love this salon. I have been coming here for over 10 years and it's honestly the BEST experience. The girls are always nice and the owner Rosetta is an AWESOME stylist. She works along side the other girls. I personally have been seeing Erika for over 4 years and she totally rocks. Great hair cut and color every time. If you cancel here don't expect to get any form of sympathy from the staff or manager! I only went there once and I saw Nikki and she did a great job she corrected a haircut for me and she gave me awesome tips and she was very very great unfortunately, for my next apt I had to cancel a month later because I was in the hospital and she had said OK no problem usually the staff is really good about that but no problem. I had thought well she's very kind thank you for understanding Well, recently I again had an appointment with her booked and had to cancel again ( which I did a week prior to the apt.) due to a death in the family. Well the night before my apt she messaged me like I'm coming in... And I said " I canceled the week prior due to the circumstances." She said " she got no word of this and that she could no longer take me on as a client, because I had two booking cancellations with her for a three hour gap because of how long my hair takes to do." I personally don't think that's very fair to me as a client she saw once and given the circumstances I've never been treated with so much disrespect. So I decided to call the manager and spoke to her, her name is Jan and she proceeded to be a little bit more kinder until she tried to get me off the phone after I tried explaining myself wondering why she couldn't take me on as a client and she explained to me that that is Nikki's choice, so then I asked if I could see someone else and she said she would have to get back to me and she said IF she could find somebody for me she would then get back to me???! What do you mean? If you can find someone for me or who will take me!? I think this is by far the first time I have ever been turned away by a salon, for business... I am extremely frustrated and upset that, that's how they handled that. I wouldn't recommend this salon at all, unless you never cancel due to personal matters or at all. Because apparently they frown upon this! Wow read more

I love Cutters' Edge! It starts with the staff everyone gives GREAT service from the front desk to the assistants to all the hair stylist. Erika has done my hair for years and everytime it turns out just as awesome as the first! Getting blonde highlights right every time isn't always easy but she has it mastered.
