I found Heidi a few months ago while searching for a great local hairdresser. Called her the same day. She was extremely nice and professional over the phone, asked me questions about my style and hair. I didn't have anything specific in mind (only knew I wanted a cut and highlights), so she gave me some great advice. Long story short - I absolutely love my hair. It compliments my face, makes me feel confident and it was pretty affordable. I plan on going back to Heidi in a few months to do the balayage. I've recommended her to at least 4 people :) read more

She did it again...and somehow even better??? I didn't even know that was possible. The amount of compliments I have gotten on my color = endless. I came in with a picture but I wasn't too attached so when she made a suggestion for a color, I said sure. I mean, I'd trust whatever Heidi suggests. The color turned out AMAZING. Every time I finish with an appointment, I cannot wait to come back. Can't wait to see what she does next time! read more

Expert evaluation and excellent service. I could not be happier with the results. Don't hesitate .....book an appointment!

I was in need of a hair stylist locally and after reading a lot of reviews I decided to book with Heidi of Hoff Hair. I went in for partial balayage, warm toner, and a cut. Heidi was so easy to talk to, I felt completely at ease. My cut and color turned out PERFECT. It's always nerve-racking to go to someone new for your hair so thank you Heidi for making this so easy! read more

I absolutely looooveeee Heidi! She's absolutely amazing! I'm from California and have been living in CT for three years and it was such a struggle finding a quality hairdresser that knows how to really cut and color hair. Especially Asian hair! She's a magician! I got my hair done by numerous people in WeHa and it just never cut it with the quality. Heidi definitely delivers! I'm able to show Heidi a picture of what I want and it'll end up exactly that! She also knows what would work for you and doesn't and would be completely honest which I love! I HIGHLY recommend her to everyone I know! Especially if you have that Asian hair! Or are looking for a good balayage!!! Due to Covid I haven't seen her for a year, and my hair color still looks amazing! read more

GO FIG - Getting ready for a much needed balayage! - Hair Stylists Near Me - West Hartford, Connecticut

Heidi remains my reliable hair guru. Mid pandemic she has altered course to limiting her services to doing color (and then only are cuts offered.) During all this, I had gone from belly button length long hair to a chin length bob with another hair stylist (as it was only a cut, and Heidi couldn't take me.) Heidi is so generous in that she leaves no customer without a plan B for just cuts; she has recommended time and time again a handful of colleagues in the vicinity. I took one of the recommendations in getting the big chop. But I have returned to Heidi by justifying the need for change and coloring again just to get her cuts again. I have had the bob for ~5 months and though I have received compliments here and there, only after my recent "touch-up" with Heidi, have I received questions about who my stylist is! Heidi is an expert in cuts and color to the extent that I cannot opt for alternatives at this point in time- and will justify coloring my hair when I don't really need it to see her for my cuts. She remains a beautiful kind spirit with such an accepting demeanor, and all the buzzing energy that I loved from our first appointment. 11/10 recommend! (I have naturally pin straight, thin, brown black Asian hair if this helps anyone.) read more

I'm so grateful I found Heidi a few weeks ago as I was looking through Yelp to find a colorist who is gifted and knows their stuff. I just moved back to this area from Los Angeles where I had access for years to the finest salons and colorists so I got spoiled. Heidi has their talent. And the coolest thing is - she's here in Connecticut and even cooler - she has a kind and loving heart and it's so nice to visit with her as she does your hair. The salon is cozy and she is a pro. I normally hate having dye put on my head but I don't even think about it with her it's great and my hair looks terrific. Thank you, Heidi :) read more

I've noticed Heidi's glowing reviews on Yelp for a while now and tucked her name away in the back of my head for the day when I would finally bite the bullet and look for a hairdresser closer to where I live now. Well the day finally came and to sweeten the deal, I even found a Groupon for her place. I had a little difficulty scheduling an appointment, since I didn't realize at first that I had to leave a message for her to call me back, as she isn't able to pick up the phone while she's working. But once I did leave a message, she called me back within 15 minutes and was very nice about fitting me in. Turns out she rents out a chair in a nice salon on Park Road, and the experience couldn't have been better. Heidi was friendly and professional, taking the time to make sure she had a clear idea in her head of exactly what I wanted out of my haircut before she started. She even asked me if I wanted to donate my hair and made the whole process super easy. She was efficient but still took her time, and my hair came out perfect, all in under half an hour. I walked out looking and feeling great about my hair. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in this area looking for a new hairstylist! Her normal prices are very reasonable, and she made the whole process so much fun that I'll be coming back sooner rather than later. read more

Heidi absolutely crushed my new look. I've never gotten my hair colored before but I needed something new and exciting as a mom of 2. She listened to what I wanted while also giving me the option to guide me in the right direction for what would work best with my hair. Outside of the amazing balayage and cut, Heidi was a pleasure to talk to and laugh with. Can't wait to go back! read more

I was long overdue for a cut and color! I have been searching for years to find a permanent hair home and I am so happy I found Heidi. First off, the atmosphere is amazing. It is laid back, comfortable, and inviting. You don't have the hustle and bustle of a busy salons and get your own piece and quiet which I enjoyed being a mom of two boys! I was able to relax in between a clarifying wash and color treatment. Heidi gave me privacy to work, take calls, etc. Heidi is very professional and overall such a kind soul who is super easy to talk to! I enjoyed our conversations and felt she was really listening about what I was looking for and any questions I had along the way! She was very patient. I love the way my cut and color came out! Just as I requested! I left there feeling like a Queen! I would recommend HL hair to anyone!! read more

Heidi was amazing!! The location is so convenient and the setup is so cute and relaxing. I have attempted blonde balayage with previous stylists and while they have come out okay, I just hadn't achieved the blonde and styling I was looking for. Heidi was able to help me accomplish my goals while being realistic as well and it turned out amazing. I truly trust her with my hair and will be returning! read more

Great experience! I am not from the area and found Heidi on here. She was very nice and was able to give me what I was looking for.

Moving to CT from Memphis, I was nervous as since going blonde I've only had one girl do my hair who I trusted with my LIFE. As I searched for recs nearby, no mater where I searched, Heidi kept popping up. Honestly, I initially figured she would be booked out for months based on all the reviews so I booked with another salon who could get me in quickly- without reaching out to Heidi. HUGEEE regret. Heidi knew EXACTLY what I wanted. She looked at my inspo pics and was able to recreate the color spot. On. A 10/10 experience overall- easy new client forms, had available appointments not at all far out, and so fun to talk to during. And obviously, incredible talent. Found my new go to girl for!! Booking this appointment was easy, as a new client Heidi and I  messaged back and forth until she had an understanding for what I was looking for. The day before she followed up with easy instructions on what to expect, how to plan and how to get there. Her space was welcoming and clean with a modern boho style aesthetic. My hair came out better than I could have imagined with stunning natural low lights and long layers that felt lighter but still held its volume.  Heid is down to earth, funny and incredible knowledgable.  If your looking for a wonderful experience, trained stylist and all around beautiful person look no further. Thank you so much Heidi looking forward to scheduling with you again. read more

Outstanding! It's been a hard couple of months on my hair and I've been looking around the area for a new salon. With a upcoming trip planned, I needed someone who could fix this hair emergency! After carefully reading the reviews on Yelp!, I decided to contact Heidi Heather. Now I called on a Monday afternoon (most salons and hairdressers in this area aren't even open until Tuesday or Wednesday!) and left a message not expecting to hear anything back. Within ONE hour!!..I heard back from Heidi who listened to what I wanted and fit me in the next day! She explained how to get to her salon, her prices and what she believed needed to be done to save me. I've never had a hair stylist listen to me like she did! She was so professional and friendly during our appointment. I didn't have to wait long to sit in the chair. We took actual time to go through pictures and discuss how I take care of my hair and what would be best for even future haircuts! She assured me that some of my previous coloring and cut was going to be salvageable and work well with my new hair. It was so relaxing because I immediately knew I was in good hands. Usually when stylists finish drying my hair, they tend to just style it how they want to. Heidi Heather took the time to ask and show how to curl my long locks quick! I couldn't believe it! I received a great look as well as the most honest and trustworthy advice from a true hair artist! OVERALL: I'm never going to a different hair professional again! Heidi Heather is the best stylist in the area and you'll never regret going to her! read more

I'm 23 and hadn't found a consistent hairdresser, when I called the salon, I was lucky enough to have Heidi do my hair. She's been amazing! She's flexible with my schedule and is always willing to help find the best product for my hair or go the extra mile. I even got a glass of wine and a paraffin wax during my apt! But of course, the best thing about her is the work she does on my hair, I've gone in before without a picture and I've walked out feeling like she knew exactly what I wanted. So for those of you who want amazing hair and a good relationship with your hairdresser, look no further! read more

I was looking for a new stylist in the West Hartford area and came across Heidi's groupon and excellent reviews - she certainly lived up to them! Heidi is super sweet, friendly, and great at her job. So impressed by Heidi and her complete honesty! I have been debating on whether or not to do something with my hair for months and finally decided to visit Heidi after reading all the great reviews. When I sat down for a consultation Heidi gave me her honest opinion and she recommended we hold off on color. I can't say enough how much a appreciate that real review. I felt horrible that I wasted 3 hours that she could have booked another client but felt compelled to share this with everyone because it shows how much Heidi cares about her clients satisfaction. Without a doubt I will be back to see Heidi in the future. read more

I saw Heidi today for a balayage and she was amazing! Last night I tried to book an appointment online and her first available wasn't for a few weeks. So I added myself to the waitlist for today. Heidi had a cancellation and she texted me right away in the morning and was able to get in by noon today, which was awesome. The salon is easy to find and in a great location. Her space is cozy and welcoming, she offered me some tea or coffee when I got there. The balayage turned out to be exactly how I wanted and similar to the pictures I had shown her. She even curled it afterwards. She was friendly and easy to talk to. I highly recommend her and I will definitely be returning to her next time as well! read more

I moved to CT about a year and a half ago and haven't had my hair cut since I arrived. I'm pretty picky when it comes to stylists. I have very long, VERY thick, wavy hair and when not cut well it ends up out of control! Heidi is AMAZING and is officially my new stylist! She is incredibly knowledgeable and helped me pick a new style that will work with my unruly hair. The color was perfect and she talked with me about how to start training my hair so that, when I go in for my next cut, we can make some small changes and make things even better. The best part, Heidi is fun to talk to and makes the time it takes to color, cut and style my hair (3 hours due to the length and thickness) fly by! If I could give more than 5 stars I would...if you're looking for a stylist in West Hartford, look no further...Heidi is awesome!! read more

From my first email down all the way through my appointment, I was so elated with how I was cared for. I have never done anything so drastic with my hair and it wasn't even that drastic! I am so greatful that I was always attended to promptly because I would have got cold feet & backed out like I always do. I might have only been here once, but I am now definitely a loyal client and will only let Heidi touch my hair! So happy with my results! I recently moved to Connecticut from New Jersey and needed to find a new hair stylist. I found a Groupon for Heidi Heather. She was extremely friendly when setting up the appointment and even personally called me the day before to confirm. I got a haircut and highlights along with a conditioning treatment. Heidi was amazing. She began by asking me about my hair and my lifestyle to determine which cut would work best for me. She listened intently and then made suggestions based on what I was looking for. Heidi is extremely knowledgeable and well trained and it shows! She noticed that my face framing layers needed to be broken up (and made them look awesome!) She also made it a point to color over some previously off color highlights. She continued to ask me questions while she cut, making sure that I was comfortable with the length. Best of all, Heidi kept the conversation going and was very engaging the whole time I was there. She made sure I had enough magazines to read and brought me both water and tea. It was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back! read more

Heidi has been cutting/coloring my hair for a few years now and for good reason. I trust her judgement unquestionably. She has never let me down. Whether its just a simple trim or face framing or even a double/triple foil project ( I like to experiment!), she gives you her honest opinion and always does a very professional job. My hair is a bit schizo, if you will. Some days it can be dry and frizzy with a weird untamed, wave to it and others it holds perfectly straight but seemingly oily. No matter what my hair feels like doing that day, Heidi always knows exactly how to treat it! I trust her to make sure I never leave looking a mess. As a matter of fact, I get compliments daily on my color, no matter which color it is that I've chosen. People are always impressed with the finished product and I make sure to tell them who should be credited! Heidi loves what she does and it shows in her work. Heidi is by far one of the most talented individuals I have encountered, and I'm not taking about her beautiful talent with being a hair stylists. As soon as you walk into your appointment Heidi feels like someone you have known for years. I have never had my hair done by anyone else in my entire life, my mother used to be a hairdresser so I always had her do my hair. I was not even slightly nervous about having Heidi do my hair because of the phenomenal work she has done that is on social media. I was so impressed with reviews and pictures that I drove an hour to see her. I seriously would drive any length after how amazing my hair turned out. I let Heidi do what she felt was best and I never imagined my hair coming out so amazing. Heidi was so kind and we just had such amazing conversations throughout the entire appointment. She truly takes the time to make sure that your hair color will complement your complexion. Heidi is someone I will continue to go see because I know she has the expertise and talent that is unmatched. My entire experience was fantastic! Ever since I'd moved from Boston I'd had difficulties finding a good hairstylist, needless to say when I wanted to get highlights I did a ton of research. From all the reviews I read, Heidi stood out and I can see why. She is super sweet, and did an outstanding job with my balyage. I don't think i have ever received as many compliments for a color job as I did with hers. Heidi listened to my concerns and customized the coloring for my hair and skin tons.
