Because I didn't want to do it all in one sitting, Heidi was super accommodating in scheduling three separate bleaching appointments over a course of three weeks. After having a few bad experiences in the West Hartford area, I stumbled upon Heidi's Shades of You Salon on Groupon and decided to give it a try. For my first appointment, I got a cut and partial highlights. I was looking for a stylist who actually listened to me and wasn't a typical "snooty West Hartford stylist" (to be blunt). Heidi is so personable and friendly, and really took time to listen to what I wanted to do with my wild, curly hair. I went home loving my curls and got so many compliments. After a few days, I noticed the shade of my highlights wasn't exactly what I had pictured- after texting her she fit me right in her schedule to do another toner for me a few days later. She recently moved to a cute little salon within the JC salons above Marshall's- watch out because I definitely stopped in on my way out and may have splurged on some new wardrobe pieces. I am looking forward to finally having a stylist nearby I can go to to tame my mane. What a gem. read more

As a 23 year old young woman I've been through a fair share of hair stylists ( and probably just as many hair colors!) but none have ever really left me wanting to make another appointment. Now I can finally say that I have found my girl! Heidi is a professional in every sense of the word. I would definitely consider myself extremely indecisive when it comes to what I want for my hair and Heidi is always very patient in helping me make those choices. I feel completely comfortable in her chair, her number one priority is always 100% satisfaction and I've never experienced anything less. She is well-versed in many techniques and her capabilities range from a simple trim to unique and exquisite color techniques. I have been in search of a great hairdresser since moving to the West Hartford area almost 2 years ago, and have had no luck with at least 5 different stylists. I found Heidi Heather through a Groupon and couldn't be happier! She gave me the best haircut I've had for as long as I can remember, and was able to explain (and fix!!) what had gone wrong with my layering from past stylists. She also gave me the perfect bangs that I wanted but couldn't really explain. I've gotten tons of compliments already. The conditioning treatment also restored my hair to the condition it was in before an unfortunate "go blonde" experiment from this last summer :) Heidi was also super friendly and personable and the salon was cute and clean Highly recommended. I moved to West Hartford a year ago and hadn't bothered to find a hair stylist because I liked my previous one even though she worked in Somers and worked two days a week. Eventually I became tried of trying to get my hair done in Somers and began looking for a stylist near me. I looked on groupon and yelp and stumbled upon Heidi. I took a chance on her for two reasons. One was that her deal for highlights and a haircut was a great price and the second was that the reviews written about her were all wonderful. I have to say that she did a fantastic job cutting and highlighting my hair. She did exactly what I wanted and is incredibly knowledgable. Plus she provides great customer service. I loved that all of her prices were clearly listed on her website and that I could book online. I had an absolutely wonderful experience there and totally recommend her! My hair looks fantastic!! I also had an eyebrow and lip wax with her and both look great. And, I had no redness after the waxing. As an added bonus, we had a lovely conversation during my appointment. I had my first appointment with Heidi Heather today and am thrilled with her work! She brightened up my sad color, covered up my grey roots, gave me a deep conditioning treatment, and created a fabulous layered look for my thick, long, wavy hair. I really liked Heidi's warm, down-to-earth personality as well. It was really fun chatting with her as she painted, shampooed, and chopped away at my locks.
