She got right to work and understood what I meant, didn't seem to be confused at all. She is a 'new' type stylist, so she's a bit more affordable, but her work didn't feel new or amateur at all. She handled my weird, super thick, under-cut havin' hair like a champ. She was also very gentle, as I have psoriasis and sensitivity to heat. The flat iron didn't touch me once. Praise the lord. As an introvert, I also really appreciated the non-invasive personality she has--She talked to me a lot, but not too much, and I zoned out a ton on my phone and respected her work flow--in turn, she respected my lack of motivation to talk much. All my poor dead ends are gone, about 4 inches worth, and my hair has never been more silky and shiny. I hope to God it looks even half this nice when I wash it next. Shalynne gave me the fastest blowout I have ever had (I have long thick curly hair) and it lasted stick straight for days without having to use a hot iron. Normally, I don't ever come back to a colorist with issues, so this was a first for me, but I was glad to work with her to fix it. The management was awful from the start. I called to make my appointment and she had me tell her what I was having done. I have no idea, I don't know the different color techniques or what I should have done. Turns out they wanted to know how much time I would need in the chair. I would have no idea. Then I had a serious issue with the color itself. The front is brassy blond with odd root lines showing and the back is almost a white blond. But I was happy to go in for a fix. Management called me prior to my "fix it" appointment and I was grilled demanding to know my entire hair color history over the phone, I'm not a colorist so I had no idea how to explain it or what I was going to need to have done to fix it. The I was accused of being unhappy with what I told the colorist to do. Huh? If a customer is unhappy and kindly requests a fix, why didn't she have me come in and evaluate herself, rather than grill me over the phone? Turns out she was concerned about how much time I would require in a chair, again. Also, she informed me that I'd have to pay for the blow out after it was fixed. I am supposed to walk out with wet hair and assume the color looks good? She explained you weren't happy with the color, not the blow out. So, you have to pay for the blowout. WHAT? The tone used, the excuses, the blame the customer attitude and my hair still isn't the way I'd like it.
