This is a fantastic salon. Noelle has done my hair for the past 2 years and I always leave happy. They never double book and always are ready with drinks and chocolates for their customers. This salon is worth braving West Hartford parking- you wont be disappointed. read more

Very laid back, easy going but extremely professional team. I'm happy with the results every time, and most importantly, my wife is happy with the results of getting my hair did at Sugar. I feel like I'm hanging out in someone's living room and just happen to be getting my hair did. Also, I can bring my dog in for a visit. read more

Love. Emily D is the best. She totally nailed it in terms of listening to what I wanted and then somehow made it even better than I was picturing. And when I decided I did want my layers a little more texturized later that day (not because of something she did, just wasn't sure at the time of appt how I wanted it) she fit me in the very next day. The atmosphere is super cute, prices are reasonable, and I love that they use environmentally friendly products. So grateful to have found such a great place right in my new neighborhood! read more

Sugar - Hair Salons Near Me - West Hartford, Connecticut

Sugar Salon is like my 3rd home (considering that I have a home in NYC and one in CT...) Angela has been making my hair fabulous for about the last 10 years and I don't see that changing any time soon, considering I trek back every 4-5-6 weeks to CT to get my hair done from NYC. Any crazy hair cut or color you can think of, I've had it and consistently receive compliments on every single 'do we happen to come up with. (We even did ombre hair before it was cool and I have the pics to prove it!) Angela has the skills and the savvy, she will let you know if something you want won't work and find something for you that will. I've recommended her to multiple people and never has anyone been unhappy. Erin, her salon compatriot, is also wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend her services as well. read more

Just an update - I've been going to Erin now for over 3 years, and I can't adequately express how happy I've been with my cuts and the service I've received at Sugar. I get compliments on my short cuts all the time! The shop has also undergone some amazing renovations. I have no idea what I'm going to do when we move to Boston! If you're looking for an update or a new stylist, go and see Erin now! read more

Sugar is the best hair salon I have ever been to (and I have been to a lot since I'm a Groupon subscriber). Going there is like visiting an old friend. My hairdresser is Angela who has been giving me sexy cuts for 5 years. Angela is extremely skilled in her craft. My hair always looks fabulous, and expensive. She is also honest, and will let you know if the cut you want will work. She can also fix a funked-up color like no one else. Another testament to her skill is that in order to be seen, an appointment, must be made far in advance, as she is booked. read more

SOOOOO I am in head over heels in love with Sugar! I was lucky to meet Emily and I am in love with her. She has been doing such a great job for almost a year a now and she treats me like a goddess. She has done everything from balayage, ombre, and Brazilian Blowout. With her tips and expertise, my hair has become fantastic. Please come see Emily and I promise you will fall in love like I have! read more

Having been a regular of Angela's for over 10 years, I was a bit nervous when she asked to move my appointment to her new stylist, Emily, while she was out on medical leave. Despite my nervousness, I also trusted Angela's judgment that Emily would do a good job! My instincts were right and Emily was fantastic! She nailed the color (that I have always been complimented on) and was a total sweetheart. She may have taken slightly longer than I'm used to, but my hair came out so great, that I can't complain! I know Angela books up a lot ahead of time so I highly recommend that people give Emily a try! Great color, great cut, great service! read more

Emily is great! I love my hair cut! She gives you genuine advice, not like most hair stylist who try to make you spend more money even if you don't need that service. read more

I love this salon! It is a great atmosphere! I have been going to Erin for a few years now and I am always so happy with my color and cut. She listens to what my vision is and then executes it even better than I envisioned. Also, Erin and Angela did my wedding hair and wedding party They were so fun and all of my bridal party loved their hair. I can't rave about Sugar enough. It is a must go to! Enjoy! read more

Absolutely love Sugar. Emily is the girl to go to for color! She just recently did purple on my hair and she did a dope job! She is very talented and easy to talk to. Love her. She also fixed a bad hair job on my sister. So if your looking for new color styles then call Emily. read more

Sugar is amazing! I came here to get my hair dyed for the first time and Emily did an amazing job, at a great price too. She and the whole Sugar team were friendly, efficient, and very knowledgeable. Emily had great answers to all my questions about my new hair and the whole experience was a blast. I couldn't be happier with the end product and definitely can't imagine going anywhere else! read more

Beautiful place, very clean and service was great. I highly recommend Sugar , every one was really sweet, padum pssst.

I have been going to Erin for the past 3 years + and she is absolutely fabulous (as are both the other stylist, Angela and Emily!). The salon is adorably cozy, and the ladies make me feel as though I am right at home when I'm there. Over the past 3 + years I have asked Erin to make me blonde, then brown, then ombre', then gray then back to blonde again - and she has never missed a beat! She really listens to what I want and makes sure I am happy with the results. I have long hair and have had bad experiences with other salons chopping off all my hair when asking for a "trim" but Erin has always respected my wishes to only give me a trim. She has also been very honest with me, when my hair did need a little more than a trim to make it healthy again she has told me but always discussed with me before taking the plunge and cutting off a few inches. As for the price, they have normal high end salon prices. For those people who commented saying they have high prices, they are typical prices for what you are getting (mind you, they don't have an extra person there washing or cleaning the salon - they are doing all of that themselves!). You are 100% getting what you pay for when going to Sugar - an amazing cut, fantastic color and great styling. If you don't want to pay those prices, then go to a cost cutters where you will get exactly what you pay for, but if you want to have an awesome color that is not your natural hair color - you're going to have to pay for it (and that is with any high end salon). These girls are great - I highly recommend :) read more

I've been a client of Angela's through many salons (10 plus years) but Sugar is by far my favorite spot! The salon is adorable and hip, it really fits the personalities of the stylists that work there, especially since Angela took it over this past summer. Even though the salon is small, they still offer every hair service you can think of. Most importantly, Angela and Erin do really great hair! I always leave the salon with exactly what I asked for and happily accept the endless compliments daily on my great cut and color. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for great hair! read more

wow;guess you people who are raving about "sugar" have bags of money!! i'm growing out a flattop(maybe mike and angela) don't know what that cut is----because they want me to pay $80 for a haircut and color---are they nuts move to 5th ave in n.y with those & prices---and i even told them that i would be doing this every 3 weeks----------not for $80 thank you ---bandits!! too bad there isn't a 5 star minus read more

I had an appointment with Emily and she was very accommodating to my needs and wants; she's very easy to talk to. I never got a haircut I liked until this one. I needed a trim and some cleaning up for my college senior pictures. The place can be confusing to find if you haven't been to the area, so just ask before hand. I thought it was a good price, from other places I looked at in the area for simple wash, cut, & blow-dry (55$ with Emily). I definitely recommend coming here. Great place, great workers. read more

My mom, sister, and I have been going to Angela for over ten years. I always love my hair when I see Angela. Recently, she did the hair for my wedding and everyone loved how their hair turned out. She and her team really listen to what you want and work to make you happy. And they're super fun people to have around! read more

I love Sugar! Erin, Angela, and Emily truly enjoy what they do and the vibe is always upbeat and welcoming. They are also quite serious about hair. They travel all over to learn the latest techniques and source great products. Erin has been cutting and coloring my hair for a few years now, and I always feel like a million bucks when I walk out of the salon. When you are in her chair she focuses completely on you--she listens to what is working and what is not working and gives it her all. She never wants you to be anything less than thrilled with your hair and will follow up with you to make sure you are happy. She cares very deeply about her work, and she also happens to be one of the kindest and most genuine people I've ever met. Erin will make you smile! read more

I recently moved to the area and was even considering driving 2.5 hours back to Saratoga Springs and have my previous hairdresser of 15 years cut my hair....but I decided to take a leap of faith and made an appointment at Sugar. I found the salon using Yelp and was thrilled with the high ratings it received. Emily cut my hair PERFECTLY - she took her time and made sure everything looked just right. Not only is she super talented, but she's also really friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. The salon is cozy and small with a lot of character. There's nothing about this salon I didn't like...and I'll definitely be back! read more

Amazing! I have long thick hair and my cut and partial highlights (blonde) were outstanding! Erin matched my color from my previous stylist in Nashville and took an extensive amount of time to find out what I wanted! A+++++experience. read more

I desperately needed a color correction and mike did an amazing job. He corrected my color by doing a full head of highlights and a color over top. It's exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend mike! If you're looking for a great barber, he's your guy. Angela is I'd always a pleasure to be around as well, such a welcoming happy environment! read more

I just relocated back to CT and found Sugar by surfing the web. Erin cut and colored my hair for one year. When I requested my long hair be cut into a trendy angled bob Erin was unable to do the job. She not only gave me an awful haircut she colored my hair two different colors and sent me on my way. The next day I got a text from Erin asking how I liked my hair. Due to never complaining I found it odd that I received a text from Erin, but elected to share with her the negative feedback I received and asked that she fix my hair. Erin insisted I come back to the salon that following week on a Monday so she could fix my hair. When I sat down in her chair she said "wow your hair looks awful". After an hour I left the salon with a shorter haircut and dark brown hair. I am a redhead. When I texted Erin to share with her the disappointment and how I had to make an appointment with another salon to fix my hair her comment was, oh I am sorry. Erin spends a lot of time covering up her mistakes. She made my sister look like my little pony and made up a story about how it was not her fault my sisters color looked awful. My suggestion is if you can't get an appointment with the owner RUN... read more

I went to Sugar for the first time this week after 5 long months of not seeing the inside of a salon. I didn't have a go-to salon in the area and my friend recommended I see Emily at Sugar. I went in for a much needed full set of highlights and a cut. I was comfortable the moment I walked in the door, I felt more at home there than I have at any other salon.Super friendly stylists and clients as well. Emily really listened to what I wanted and started on my quite outgrown, difficult hair. When we were through, I was happy with the results, looking 10x better than when I came in. But due to some stubborn ends (result of years of at home dark hair dye, then switching to blonde highlights) my hair didn't turn out exactly as Emily had wanted. Even though I thought my hair looked great (much better than the last time I had gotten it done at another salon), Emily convinced me to come back a couple of days later to make it even better (at no extra charge!). I'm glad I listened to her and am thrilled with the results! Emily has gained my trust , along with Angela and Erin who I had the pleasure of meeting over my two visits there. Every client walked out happy and looking fantastic! read more
