My choice was the Cortado. This is equal parts espresso and lightly steamed, untextured milk (no foam) resulting in a strong balanced flavor. Similar to a "flat white" but the flat white uses more milk to espresso sand incorporates a textured milk resulting in a sweeter and smoother taste. The cortado was just what I needed to gear up for this mornings trade show floor. I purchased a whole beans pound of Roasters Choice for $10 and a whole beans pound of Savannah Sunshine Espresso for to go. This morning, we made a bodum of the espresso for our morning coffee at our VRBO stay in Greenville, SC. It was clear why the barista said this was their most popular bean, it was full bodied, slightly fruity on the finish, and had a smooth strongness rather than a bold/bitter strength. It went well with my wife's half and half, sugar additions and also it suited me for a straight up black cup of joe. Highly recommend both the shop and the roasted beans, just wish there was an option for internet orders for those of us who live hundreds of miles away and only get here once or twice per year. But when in town, this is an every morning must.

This…read moreplace came up on my TikTok fyp a couple times, so I couldn't wait to try it next time I was in Savannah. Geechee Girl Apothecary did not disappoint. I went twice while there. I tried four different coffee lattes and one tea latte. Sweet potato latte - amazing. The flavors were there, and just a solid latte all around. Beulah Mae - my other favorite.. perfect pound cake flavor, it was like eating a slice while drinking coffee. Geechee Girl - they were out of maca root, so I'm not sure how that affects the flavor, but this was a good hazelnut latte with chocolate notes. Dubai Strawberry (seasonal, I believe) - I did not get the pistachio flavor in this, but if you are looking for a latte that tastes like chocolate covered strawberries, this was very good. The praline tea latte seemed like it had good flavor, but was unfortunately very watered down tasting. Both times I went, I ordered a slice of Ophelia's sweet bread. Sadly, they forgot to put it in the bag on my second visit. It was really tasty, almost like a pound cake, but a little lighter, somewhere between a lemon loaf and vanilla pound cake. Both my daughter and mom ordered the shrimp salad wrap. They said it was very good, something they'd order again. I feel like the wrap was maybe slightly overpriced, at $13. I did not get a picture of it, but it was a bit small, and I don't believe it comes with a side. As I was ordering coffees with the wraps, the barista rung it in as a combo, which made the pricing more economical, at $17 for the wrap and a large latte. I didn't realize at the time, but the combo does come with a choice of chips or fruit.. I wasn't given an option, so they just put a mandarin orange in with the wraps. Chips would have been better haha, but I know for next time. I also got a side of the quinoa salad, not a fan of chickpeas normally, but this salad was delicious as well, and I would definitely get it again. The shop has a beautiful assortment of spices, herbs, teas, and other wellness products. Their handmade soaps smelled AMAZING, and were reasonably priced at 3/$20 (handmade and very clean ingredient list). I bought a few for my mom. I also bought a sample jar of their magnesium butter, can't wait to try it.
