A14. Dumpling with Spicy Chili Oil

5 Stars for Super Wok. It is easily one of the absolute best Chinese restaurants in the area. I tend to favor the hotter Szechuan dishes and they do not disappoint. I've so many more dishes to try there but my favorites are the 3 Pepper Chicken, Ma-Po Tofu, Shredded Pork with Smoked Tofu, Jiao Ma beef, Scallion Oil Fish. I've never had a bad meal, everything is good. Last night I tried Shredded Pork with Hot Pepper and it was delicious. Dumplings with chili oil are a must. Give them a try

Ordered takeout via UberEats and have to say really impressed! The salt and pepper ribs were probably my favorite as seen by the half eaten bowl before I remembered to take a photo (oops!) the spicy chicken was also flavorful but the trick with this and any fried item is to toss in the air fryer as soon as you receive it that way you can eat it crispy. The string beans were a little average but if you are Chinese like me they are a staple and pretty much the go-to vegetable I get for takeout because hard to mess up. The cold spicy beef tendon was very meaty which was good. It's always a little bit of a surprise how restaurants do the spicy beef and if there is a lot of beef, tendon or tripe, this one was all beef very little tripe. ALSO forgot to take a photo of my egg roll which was delicious 10/10 For the RTP/ Cary area this is probably one or two on my list now! I have Chinese takeout at least once every 2 weeks :)

We were hesitant due to the 3.5 star rating but this was the only place among others we'd wanted to try (Nice Bowls, C&T Wok) that was open for lunch at 3.30pm on a Tuesday. We're so glad we tried it! We ordered everything with less salt and less oil and it was perfect for me though my husband would've been fine with the usual salt and oil (that's what makes it Sichuan food he says). Dan Dan noodles - 5 stars I finally know what this is supposed to taste like! Having tried recipes out at home since buying some sesame paste, I found my own to have too strong of a sesame flavour. This, on the other hand, has really good umami from the pickled vegetables (ya mi sui cai I think) with just a touch of the sesame flavour. So good! Fried stuffed eggplant - 3 stars We hadn't realised this would be deep fried with a thick battered exterior. All 3 of us felt the batter was too filling. I thought it tasted like old oil. The stuffing wasn't very flavorful even though there's sauce to add. Wouldn't order this again. Mala xiang guo, 小辣/small spice - 4.5 stars They gave us so many ingredients! Ample beef, squid and prawns. I personally don't eat much meat and wish there were more vegetables. The lotus root was deliciously crisp and there was a smattering of potatoes and bok choy. The flavouring was spot on. I did think the beef had too much meat tenderiser though. I'd try to get this with much more vegetables if I got it again since I'm used to all vegetable mala xiang guo pots in Singapore. Not a fan of the meats. I think I could've handled 中辣 medium spice. Service - 5 stars The best service we've had in a legit Chinese restaurant! Really excited to go back to try other dishes!

Wow it's surprisingly very good Chinese restaurant that I just discovered today!! It's authentic Chinese food. The price maybe a bit to high but if you do lunch special is good price!!!

We were ravenous, but had an intense Chinese food craving, so we ordered Chengdu 7 food from Uber Eats. Food did not disappoint! We ordered sesame chicken, chef special fried rice, chicken fried rice, Mongolian beef*, shrimp fried rice, and everything was delicious! Fan favorites were the Mongolian beef and chicken fried rice, but honestly EVERYTHING was good. And you can tell a lot from a place by how they package your food: food was delivered in tightly seeled packs and labeled! It sounds minor, but is so helpful when you're feed 2 dozen hungry people. All in all, Chengdu 7 you truly made me a fan of you. I will most certainly be returning for more!

We enjoyed so many different dishes - hot and sour soup, scallion pancakes, egg rolls, hand pulled noodles with beef, kung Pao chicken, cumin beef, beef with vegetables, crag rangoon, and pork dumplings. Every dish was wonderful. And for anyone who has not tried the hand pulled noodles here you really must try them - they are a highlight of a meal - incredibly delicious with a wonderful texture. The flow of food to our table was great, not too fast or rushed and not too slow. Our waitress was wonderful and ensured that our group had everything that we needed to enjoy our meal. Will I be back again - Absolutely!! Everyone in our group agrees that this is the best Chinese food anywhere! I will caution some seeing this review that unlike many other Asian restaurants, if you order a Hot and spicy dish here it will indeed be very hot. I consider that to be good because I enjoy hot spicy food, but for those who cannot handle hot food stick with the milder dishes.

It was easily enough for two people, maybe even three, and we came with a hearty appetite. We chose the bone broth, loaded up on fresh vegetables, and ordered the incredible sweet rice cakes, which are deep fried, dusted with brown sugar, and served with a rich brown sugar dipping sauce. We also tried the marinated beef and grilled chicken, both of which were tender and flavorful. The menu explains the spice levels really clearly, and there is a full sauce bar where you can mix your own dipping sauce, so whether you like mild or super spicy, it is completely up to you. We went around 4 PM, and there were already four or five other parties. By the time we were finishing up, it was getting really busy, so if you prefer a quieter experience, it is probably best to come earlier. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is attentive, and this place is perfect for a date night or a fun group dinner. We highly recommend Szechuan Mansion Hotpot.

Simply put, everything we ordered was a home run. The soup - Wonton - was splendid. The broth had far more kick, far more substance, far more taste than the stuff we've managed to get at other local restaurants - and more clearly matched what I've eaten in Chinese restaurants throughout Southeast Asia . . . and, of course, in my few trips to Beijing. The egg rolls immediately made me think of this little hole-in-the-wall take-out Chinese joint in Brooklyn that I recall . . . from fifty years ago. The place was situated on the corner of Bay Parkway and 86th street, right at the point where the elevated track for the B train was located - and immediately became my father's first stop as he descended the station's stairs at the end of his workday, leading right to the front door of that cookery. He always ordered an egg roll or two, ate one standing in the entryway to the cook shop, and brought several home. Those Szechuan Garden egg rolls immediately, for me, resonated with the vigorous, deep taste of those Brooklyn delectables. We had a simple fish dinner with white rice, and an eggplant cooked deeply and wrapped in a thin dough covering - never had eggplant that way before and it was, again, a home run. The fish was so very simple, so very tasty - unforgettable. Thankfully, we have enough leftovers to make for another great meal today. We now have a new favorite restaurant near our home in Durham.

Parking was easy, we waited a bit outside even though we had a reservation, but that's ok- they're popular! We were definitely seated within 15 minutes of arriving, and the server came outside well before that with the iPad to explain how everything worked. We were all new to the experience! We opted for a Louisiana style broth that was flavorful and creamy, and a beef broth which was a little bit spicy (other reviews warned about the spice levels, so I was prepared!). We could have gotten up to four broths, but I'm glad we stuck to two- any more would have been overwhelming and as it was I had trouble deciding what meat and veg to dunk in which broth. We selected a bunch of veggie, meat and noodles, and were still passing the iPad around as we were led to our table. There are two "levels," a $28 per person and a $40 per person. I believe the $40 per person came with a nicer cut of steak and more seafood options, as well as drinks like Boba. At the end of our meal I asked our group if anyone would have done anything differently as far as our experience and everyone said they would have gone for the $40 option so we could have had scallops! For the first time, I found the $28 option great because we were just getting the hang of it. I will say the sauce bar was highly spoken of in other reviews, so I eagerly got some, but hardly used it at all because the broth was so delicious on its own! Some of my favorite items were steak (I'd pass on the chicken next time), bok choy (we ordered more of this!) and mushrooms. Also we tried the glass noodles, udon and hand pulled and they were all delicious and fun to eat- I can't pick a favorite of those! Oh, and the spring rolls were a great starter. Some folks in our group enjoyed the spam and some other items, and it didn't feel too difficult to stay away from those bits if others of us were not interested. I'm only taking off a star because the "system went down" and the iPad stopped working for everyone in the restaurant. So although it is technically all you can eat, we had trouble ordering more. Since it was our first time, we couldn't remember everything in the menu to request more, and we didn't want to over order at the beginning so we probably went a little light. Thus, I didn't leave feeling as full as I would have liked. I think I saw others on Yelp mention delicious desserts, but we couldn't see them since the iPad wasn't working. They had a freezer case of ice cream but it looked like school cafeteria quality (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry) so we skipped it. Kind of a bummer way to end the meal. But I can't really fault them for having technical issues, although they could have had a backup paper menu to show us. In sum, I really enjoyed this meal and would go back in a heartbeat! Such a fun time, especially for a group.

The fried dumplings were crispy, not at all greasy, and filled with very flavorful filling, coupled with a perfectly paired dipping sauce. The hotpot... oh, the hotpot, was filled with pillowy fried tofu, fatty and tender beef, cabbage, wood ear mushroom shreds, seaweed, bean sprouts, and a ton of noodles. All of this was swimming in some of the most amazing Szechuan peppercorn broth that was spicy, but not numbing and not overpowering. It was the perfect broth to wrap each ingredient in flavor.
