Yummy! Authentic Persian food, friendly atmosphere, better come early before the seats were taken.

    Chicken Kabab Plate

Both the grocery store and the Cafè are AMAZING. The friendliest staff, the best food, and the best options. I drive once a week from Dorchester to get their Sangak and it's so worth it. Highly recommend.

    Vaziri Kabab

This is by far the most authentic and delicious persian food I've had in boston! I'm surprised that they don't have many reviews on yelp. There is persian restaurant and a super market right next to it that is PACKED with cooking essentials, spices, sweets and snacks. At the restaurant, We ordered the vaziri kabob and in my opinion the koobideh(ground beef) exceeeeeeeded our expectations. I personally liked the koobideh more than the chicken but both were delicious. Just the right amount of rice, and evenly cooked kabobs.

Arriving around 11-12 on a Saturday, my friends and I reserved a table at In House Cafe and received quick and efficient service from kind and informative servers. It's nice to note that the uniforms are also adorable and punchy. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal and my friends and I, despite ordering a VAST array of delicious items from pizza to pancakes, all agreed that the food was delicious and well worth the trip! The apple Cinnamon Pancakes were nearly to die for, warm and delicious, the batter seemed homemade, and honestly gets a solid 10/10. The same goes for my drink of choice, the iced caramel latte with oat milk. The bacon and eggs were as you'd expect and well executed. The Shakshuka was good and smelled amazing, but my only note would be that an addition of salt or a slight edge to the dish would bring it over the top- My friend who initially ordered the dish says that an addition of Feta cheese will do the trick, as she ordered a side of it to go on top. For my personal taste it was a 7.5/10. The pizza was a great serving size for 1-2 people in one sitting, or could easily be stretched out into multiple meals if needed. The fresh tasting vegetables brought the dish together, and the meal was happily enjoyed. and a pro tip; if you have leftovers i'd recommend reheating in an air-fryer for perfect crispy crust 9/10 The chocolate strawberry latte exceeded my expectations, as I am not a usual fan of chocolate strawberries, but this drink was a very pleasant surprise. It wasn't overly sweet or artificially flavored, and I couldn't help but ask my friend for a few sips throughout the meal. The bathrooms were VERY clean and VERY well maintained, and the restaurant is just a very quick walk away from the bus stop. Accessible by car but parking may be hard to find, so be aware if you choose to go by car. I would go back to boston soley for those pancakes! ONE thing I will note is that for three people our order came out to a bit over $100. You can feel free to interpret that as you so choose. I will say I was somewhat surprised, but NOT regretful! I'd still go back for the pancakes ‍

In theory I appreciate the idea of a laptop free area, and it is always annoying when there is a cafe full of people hogging up all the tables to do their homework, but in practice is this really an issue? I mean they already make the space not conducive sitting comfortably, using low tables and everyone sits against the wall. My interpretation is that they do not want the "negative computer energy" in their sacred space. Would it have helped if they knew I was working on a tai chi research project? Would that positivity have offset the negative energy I was emitting? I guess I will not know. I certainly will not be coming back, ever. I did not even enjoy the nearly $8 coffee (with tip) -- it had a flavored aftertaste.

The hojicha wasn't strong enough to come through which was a surprise because this is a roasted tea option. It essentially just discolored milk. The ambiance and seating were cute so half star. But no one came to clean up the tables and customers beforehand didn't clean up after themselves. I was hoping the tarot cards used for ordering system was a part of a theme but it didn't actually provide any value. Of the many cafes, Boston/Cambridge/Somerville has to offer, I think this one is very mid and can be skipped.

He shouted out that she had "contaminated" the drink and he would make a new one for the correct customer. This was all said in a loud, actorly voice so that everyone in the shop could know that He Was Displeased. Note, the "contamination" consisted of the woman a) holding the cup of hot chocolate and, b) walking to her table with it. On a previous occasion, he yelled at an older woman in her 90s because she needed to sit down on a chair while he was sweeping. He snidely told her that she should go outside if she needed to sit. Her confusion about the seating was understandable, because for some unknown reason the cafe needs to close a full hour before the bookshop (and they begin this process earlier even than that, by "helpfully" putting away the chairs and turning off the lights). I guess they sell some croissants and coffee, but honestly: who cares, given the above?

Relatively recently opened, The Mill Cafe is a special place for multiple reasons. Taking over from an auto parts store, I believe it is a non-profit business that employs disabled people and works in conjunction with the community center branch of a local church. There is also a settlement for immigrants and refugees related element too. A whole auditorium and worship area is connected by windows and glass doors on the main far wall. The Mill Cafe part though is very spacious, with tables and chairs all over, but that's not all, because this is also a whole community center and a children's recreation area. There are also some pinball games and foosball tables. I came during a big town day festival, and the vibe was quite wholesome and upbeat with multiple events going on. There's free drip coffee at times apparently, maybe not always. While they no longer carrying Counter Culture like advertised, maybe my favorite coffee actually, the one they had was very good. Towns really should have places like this, which I've said before about my own town, especially if you want kids off the marijuana and vaping nonsense. The actual floor could just be redone when it's possible, as it still looks like an auto parts store or warehouse. If there was something like this when I was younger nearby I'd surely spend time there!

We walked into a cozy, bohemian atmosphere filled with eclectic décor, photos, artwork, books, puzzles, chess boards, and an overall sense that people are encouraged to slow down and stay present. Despite the relatively small footprint, the space manages to feel welcoming rather than cramped, with indoor seating that supports conversation and outdoor seating that becomes especially popular during warmer months. Coffee is clearly the centerpiece here. We ordered espresso based drinks, including a flat white and a seasonal Juniper Latte, both of which were prepared with care and a clear emphasis on quality. The café leans into a more thoughtful coffee program, and that attention shows in the cup. Beyond the drinks, the pastry selection is good, particularly the croissants and scones, which paired naturally with the coffee menu. The experience is helped by friendly, engaged staff who contribute to the café's welcoming personality. Conversations with the baristas and small community touches helped create an environment that felt more personal than transactional. The laptop free policy can catch first time visitors by surprise, but for many regulars it is part of what gives Faro its distinctive identity and helps preserve the social atmosphere that sets it apart from more work focused cafés. For a coffee stop in Harvard Square that prioritizes human connection over productivity, Faro Cafe delivers a warm, intentional space worth slowing down for.
