Amazing place!!! I first had lamejuns in 2015 while staying in Boston. I'm from out of state so I didn't get a chance to revisit for many years but it had been on my list of places to go the next time I was there for a long time now. Just revisited, the lamejuns are just as amazing as I had remembered them. The taste is absolutely to die for. I've tried a few other lamejun places back home and they don't compare. This is definitely THE place for any Armenian style food you can think of. Fantastic gem of Watertown.

First, this market is taking extra precautions to keep customers safe by providing disposable gloves for customers to use. The store is clean and well kept. I visited on a Friday to try their Lamejun. I didn't realize they only sold boxes of their Lamejun as apposed to single servings you can order to eat immediately. However, the employee was kind enough to sell me warm lamejuns from the oven when I told her I was from out of town. I got the spicy garlic flavor made with beef. They were delicious!

So I've been wanting to try Eastern Lamejun Bakers (and Arax Market and Sevan Bakery) forever, but I don't oft drive about the area with the intent to pick up consumables, so when I spotted a Yelp deal last year I had to snap it up quick! But of course it wasn't till the Saturday in August just before the deal was due to expire that I finally step foot into the wide but not at all deep store. Street parking was easily available, although limited to 1 hour, which is fine for a stop at a store, but not as convenient for a sit down meal at a restaurant. Upon entering, I took a walk around to get the lay of the land. As I checked out one of the refrigerator cases along the back wall, I noticed a bunch of shower capped folk in the back room busy at work making fresh goods. Yes, they prepare a bunch of stuff on site! Nice. The store was pretty bright and well kept. I spotted some pita bread by the window on the right ranging from 4-6 pieces per bag and priced under $2 per bundle. I'll have to keep those in mind for the future. As it was my first trip, I of course had read through the Yelp reviews to give me an idea of what to get. On my list were the Spinach & Cheese Borek ($7.99 for 6), Meat Lamejun ($15.99 for a dozen or $8.50 for 1/2 dozen), and Stuffed Baby Eggplant (by weight so mine were $4.93 for 4). I located boxes of a dozen Lamejun in an open refrigerated area - spicy meat, vegetarian, meat - besides a variety of turnovers, so I decided to ask the lady behind the counter for help, citing that it was my first visit. She came out and helped me to gather up my bounty. One thing I learned was that Borek were the turnovers! Mystery solved! The open boxes of Lamejun on the counter were the 1/2 dozen count, unlike the sealed (well, taped) ones in the refrigerated box. And the baby eggplants were located among the stuffed grapeleaves on the counter as well. I added to my tally one of the triangular phyllo pastries with cheese sneaking out from a corner (Shabyat $1.75 apiece) that was tempting me from its plate on the counter, and left $23.17 poorer, but with a hefty white plastic bag in its stead, and instructions on how to care for my finds from the owner/cashier. The borek are good 5 days in the fridge, 3 months in the freezer. To heat up from a chilled (but not frozen) state, nuke it 10 seconds and toast it 5 minutes. As for the lamejun, the meat will dry out if you warm it up open faced, so fold it over and toast in a frying pan 5 minutes? on each side. Lunch was 1 borek (microwaved the recommended 10 seconds, toasted in the toaster oven for 2 light toast cycles), 1 baby eggplant, and the shabyat. A highly satisfying meal! The borek was surprisingly light despite the envelope of dough. The dough was somehow light and crisp on the outside as it was a rather thin layer, while the cheesey spinach insides were moist. The eggplant was extremely flavorful a little bundle. The filling was a higher ratio to the eggplant than I could have imagined. The shabyat was a lighter, crisp, healthier? cousin to the fried cheesecake. Next up, lamejun for dinner... As instructed, I folded one over and started toasting it in a non-stick frying pan with no added oils. I slipped in some spinach leaves, a slice of tomato and a bit of avocado. It was pretty good. The dough, although really thin, was chewy with a bit of a crisp along the edges.

Lamejun has shrunk to 7 inches and is thin as piece of paper. What used to be one lemajun sufficient for lunch, now requires two. $9.99 for a pack of 6 (still in the same good size box, half empty), what happened for the good value for the money. Disappointed.

    Lentil Keofta

An amazing place is right! Eastern Lamejun Bakers has the best Spinach Pie made with Muenster Cheese; in fact, a friend who is a professional chef asked that I bring them to her and she pointed out the muenster cheese. I am Greek and we usually make it with Feta but these are much tastier. And try the Lentil Keofta, in addition to the Lamejun. Everything is made in the kitchen on the premises. It is always a pleasure to shop there. I go there every week!! I highly recommend Eastern Lamejun.

Amazing Armenian food. I recommend the tabouli, metch, and the hummus is the best you will have.

I found out about The Danish Pastry House on Reddit, and one look at their website immediately sold me. I ordered a 6-inch Prinsesstårta (princess cake) for pickup. I mistakenly got their Saturday hours wrong, but when I called, someone agreed to wait for me 30 minutes past close - incredible service, as far as I'm concerned. The cake was gorgeous and so delicious! The marzipan went so well with the layers of moist cake, Bavarian cream, and raspberry jam. Truly a one-of-a-kind choice for a birthday cake that did not disappoint. I can't believe I have to wait a whole year for my birthday to come back around! Or maybe I'll just make an excuse to order another unbeatable cake from here.

I know its gluten free concentration so very happy to not be returning.
