There was good and there was bad. For starters my group had the jalapeno poppers, mushroom poppers and mixed tempura. All the fried foods were tasty, good and started the meal off great. Next came the rest: the green mussels come plain with no mayo sauce or green onions like I'm used to. Although the mussels were large in size, they were very boring and dry. Next, I'd like to express that this place does not do sauces on their sushi rolls to my liking. Call me an "Americanized," but I'm used to a good creamy, mayo sauce on things like the baked lobster roll, which was big and had tons of meat, but it was dried out and boring in flavor. Every other roll we had came with the same boring, basic crab filled rolll + whatever highlight fish they were featuring. I find the fish portions on top of the rolls were very small and does not masque the flavors of the boring crab roll beneath. The fish for the sushi was a mixed bag, from the albacore to the white tuna and the salmon. The fish tasted pretty fresh, but not as tasty as I'd expect. To me the salmon stole the show as it was buttery and delicious. Overall, I went here on a suggestion from a stranger I met the other day and I was disappointed: full but not really full from satisfaction. Much better sushi can be found at Asahi Sushi in Riverside off Van Buren or Sushi Shiro in Upland (try the peppered Ono!) The Prices were fair at around $50 for all you can eat dinner, but the flavors were not quite there yet. read more

My fiancee and I are attempting to try most of the well reviewed sushi places in Yucaipa and Redlands. This was our latest slop. I don't give out 5 starts lightly, but I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't get the full monte. My fiancee and I pulled into the parking lot at about 8:10PM on Saturday night, and we only saw 4 cars. I joked that it was probably just the cars of the staff. We approached the place and noticed that was in fact the cars of the staff, there were no customers inside. We looked at each other and asked if we really wanted to go inside, or head over to Tokyo Sushi, but we obviously walked inside. We were immediately enthusiastically greeted and seated by their staff at the sushi bar. I noticed that they were playing actual Japanese music. Not 80's music, not disco, actual Japanese music. I liked that. We were still a bit suspicious of the lack of customers, so we decided to order just 2 rolls, a rainbow and a caterpillar, just in case it was nasty we could cut 'n run. We struck up a conversation with the sushi chef, Hatch, who was very friendly and helpful. I commented to the wait staff that it was very empty tonight. It was explained that everyone had left around 8, and that it was quite busy prior to our arrival. She then asked us how we found their place, and we explained it was a combination of Google and Yelp, which she thought was great, and wanted to know how her reviews were on Yelp, and of course I told her they were great. Hatch (who loves natto) gave us our two rolls and we were very happy with them. Very fresh ingredients, clean and simple presentation. We devoured them quickly and ordered two more rolls, a spider and an aloha roll. Again, they were great as the last two, fresh and tasty. I decided that I hadn't had enough and had a salmon roll which of course was great. Again, I don't have anything bad to say about this place. It's everything I want in a sushi restaurant. I don't usually write reviews like this but....... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! My girlfriend and I went here with her mother the other night. The gyoza was rock hard and tasted terrible, so we sent it back nicely....which seemed to have pissed off our waitress, resulting in neglectful service the rest of the stay. The manager, I presume, brings out another plate and explains that we just must not be used to 'good gyoza'. We all looked at each other and laughed....it was still terrible. Overcooked, badly flavored and small portions. On to the rolls. Size and quality wise, they're honest to god comparable to the to-go ones you see at a 7-11. Old tasting fish, tiny, tiny, tiny rolls. Less than mediocre. They advertise a half off rolls all day everyday sign outside, but didn't apply that to our bill. Lucky for them, my gf's mother is super passive and didn't want to make a stink and just paid the full amount. $60 for 3 'half off' rolls, one dinner plate and 3 sodas? Screw you, Super Sushi. Anyone with half a palate for anything near decent sushi would steer clear of this disaster. Terrible service. Terrible food. If you want good sushi in Redlands, try Ocean Blue, Niko Niko or even Little Tokyo. read more

Would not even give this place one star. The waitress argued with me and told me that she could not split the bill and she was going to do it this way because it was " easiest for me" She made us all order separate then brought out an extra roll I did not order and then accused me of ordering it. When I talked to the manager and I had four witnesses she refused to Listen and told me u r not leaving until u pay ! I pd the fifteen dollars for something I did not order and they better spend it wisely because I will never be back and will tell everyone how awful I was treated !!! a fan of AYCE! SUPER impressed by this spot. we originally wanted to go to Sushi Mac in Highland, BUT it was closed.. had i known! this spot def made up for it. i won't tell you our rounds of sushi (because its the SAME!) but everything we ordered was delicious! salmon, ono, baked scallop roll, salmon skin hand roll, miso soup, (no edamames this time), octopus, catepillar roll (bf's forte) im allergic to avocados.. i know, i'm missing out =P overall it satisified our sushi crave and did the job... OH! almost forgot, the mussels were soo good! it almost had a teriyaki taste, not the usual mayo and sarachi baked in special sauce. this just had a'special' sauce baked and served. It carried alot of flavor that we ordered 8 orders (2 pcs). I should have known to take pics! we ended our feast with green tea and chocolate mochi. i would come here again. the only thing is at most AYCE sushi spots, they give you the ginger and wasabi once u sit and that didnt happen. we had to ask for it when we got our first round. and in between orders/rounds it took almost 10 mins to get each order. the restaurant wasnt packed at all, until we left. but thats all .. everything else was up to par and our bellys were full :) read more

Compared to places around, this is the McDonalds of sushi... As in, plain, regular, boring etc. The good rolls are ruined with crab. Asked if I could have spicy tuna sub inside instead of crab and was told it costs extra? This is AYCE. If it were my place I'd cater to all my customers and create a reputation of such. People would flock to me knowing that I could create their every desire. I wrote this before I paid.. After being told it costs more to sub spicy tuna (this is after I already did it and ate it) I said "oh okay then I don't want anymore with a sub. He happily said okay. I get my check. It's higher than expected. I ask to see the print out of everything we got. They charged me $8 for subbing out crab with spicy tuna?! I explained I did not know that it was extra until after I had already gotten it and ate it. The dude basically said I'm sorry but that's the rule. The other dude was like it's okay and then the other guy was like nah. I laughed and said "how does that even make sense? You charge me for something I didn't even know about until afterward?" I like the half price option because it costs less then AYCE and they don't put as much rice. Fish is fresh, rolls are tasty and service is GREAT. My favorite sushi place in Redlands. You can either get all you can eat sushi or do the half off option where all the sushi is half off all day, every day which makes the rolls come out to about $6.00 depending on what you order. They don't have a huge menu but all the rolls I've ordered have been delicious. Ive also ordered salmon and Ono sashimi which was so good. I love the fact that they sell Ono as a lot of places don't because it's the best tasting raw fish ever. The service is very fast and attentive and the sushi chefs are friendly. Overall, I love this place with its great food and prices and come here whenever I want sushi. read more

Customer service was amazing. They give half off all rolls but the quality and size really makes that almost the appropriate price. My friend told me to go here because they made a huge order in a week or 2 ago and said it was amazing. Once I realized I had been here before and hadn't liked it, I was skeptical. But, hey, everyone deserves a second chance. Well... I ordered 3 rolls, different than I had ordered prior, and I promise, after one bite of each I pushed it away and said "that's nasty." My friend tried them all and said they were good. He also lived in Japan for a year and says sushi is one of his favorite foods. So, for me, I'd have to give a 1 star for the great customer service and he would give a 5 because he thinks all of their food is amazing... So we're going to average a 3 on this one. read more

Definitely a solid standard option due to the half price sushi and rolls - I come for it at least once a week! It's not mindblowing but it's good food at a great price and a nice change from burgers and burritos for lunch. Service is quick and always good, even when it's a little busier (and it varies from nearly full to completely empty in the afternoons). Nothing fancy décor-wise but it's still nice inside, always really clean anyway! Fortunately they're always great about food prep so I never fear getting sick off their food despite the sort of "uh oh why is it half price" knee-jerk reaction. Anyway great value and quick service make it great for lunch, though I wouldn't say it's somewhere I would take a sushi fanatic to impress. read more

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall jackpots! Aesthetically, the place isn't much to look at. But the sushi is really good - the ichiban roll is my favorite (if you like spicy rolls) with Seattle's best roll not far behind (I like salmon sushi). The place is family-owned and operated and it shows! The head sushi chef and his mom (I think) take a lot of pride in their restaurant and it's clear from the moment you step in! We've been back twice now, and every time the people that work here have been very friendly on top of the food being very good. I highly recommend it as it's one of those feel-good kind of places. Been coming here for 2 years and it's been great. However, today was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time from a restaurant. I WONT BE RETURNING!!! Long story short, I got All You Can Eat and they took forever to serve me the rounds, which come in 3 for $28..... The chefs took an hour a round! And it was only my table with 2 chefs back there. First world problems I know. But for $150.00 meals, you'd expect more...... They forgot some sushi I ordered in the rounds, realized it and served me everything they forgot in round 3. When I asked if it's possible for me to take some of the sushi home, the chef told me I needed to pay extra or pay extra for not eating the rest. The waitresses are sweethearts. The chefs and management suck here, like a fat one. For a place that used to let you take home open containers of booze and box up leftover all you can eat, this place sure has gone down hill. Won't be coming back and will tell everyone I know to avoid this S-hole. read more

I was offered 2 options, all you can eat or half off regular price. I chose the latter. I ordered a spice tuna roll, Hawaiian rolls and tu a hand roll. $18 for rice, the fish portions were tiny. The Hawaiian rolls had thin, tiny squares of fish, it didn't even hang on the sides of the rice, the roll looked very sad a poor. Since the fish was so thin, all I tasted was rice. I get better looking and tasting sushi at my local Ralph's in Rancho, for the same price. I much rather have a restaurant charge me full price and get what I came for, a beautiful, fish abundant roll. I got gas station sushi instead. read more

One of the few Japanese run sushi places in the area. Pretty good sushi. I will say this - you get treated nicer if you're Japanese. I went with a group of friends, all Korean, and one half Japanese. When the server saw his credit card (and his Japanese last name), pretty much the whole staff took notice of who he was and remembered him on subsequent visits. Just got my sushi fix by ordering takeout from Super Sushi, and I was pleasantly surprised, even impressed. Although I can see what people were saying regarding rolls being a tad bit on the small side, they are a perfect size for me, as I order sushi like a first timer and love to try to little bit of a few different rolls. I also appreciate them not being too heavy on the rice to make them seem larger. The portions of what matters - the fish - was perfect and not skimped at all. The fish was also noticeably fresh and every single roll we ordered was delicious. I live a few minutes away, walking distance, and I will definitely be back to try to different rolls. A friend and I came here for dinner last night. We were greeted and seated promptly when we walked in. Right off the bat you could tell the service would be excellent and it was. Also, although located in a strip mall, you'll find once inside, it's nicely decorated and just feels right. We figured let's start with a rainbow roll and a dragon roll and a few beers and afterwards move on to some sashimi or nigiri. Well, we never even finished both rolls, they are HUGE. Also, very fresh and excellent tasting. We'll be visiting again soon to try other items on the menu but based on a limited experience so far, I would say you can't go wrong here. read more

Under new ownership. The application to sell alcoholic beverages posted in the window reads "Okiyama" which scared me, as I am not a big fan of the Okiyama in downtown Redlands. Luckily, this isn't anything like that Okiyama. It's an all-you-can-eat place now, pretty standard all-you-can-eat for standard all-you-can-eat prices. I miss the old Super Sushi already. read more

I would give Super Sushi a solid 3 star rating. The sushi is what I would call pretty good; its not really a sashimi grade sushi, but wasn't fishy, so is good for rolls and standard sushi offerings. You always have to be a bit wary when you see places that are offering all you can eat or half off.... especially when it's offered all day, every day. The other thing that makes me personally suspicious of a sushi place, is when there aren't any asians eating there. The service wasn't the best... our server seemed to be pretty forgetful. But I'm sure that comes with the atmosphere here which is kind of busy and unruly. There don't seem to be any real assigned server stations... since everyone is getting all you can eat, the servers simply take the orders from their respective tables, and then everyone just kind of acts like an expediter... whoever is there when the sushi comes up, runs it to whichever table. Aside from forgetfulness and some level of disorder, our servers were friendly and had a great attitude. The Kiss of Fire roll was really enjoyable. The jalapeno bombs were fantastic! The Spider roll was ok. The Unagi (Freshwater eel) didn't have enough sauce. The spicy scallops weren't spicy. I would say that we will most likely be back again. Granted... the sushi wasn't "top quality"... but how can you really complain when it's half off, or all you can eat?? The cost is on par with the quality. read more

Really pleasant staff. Good service. Clean. The sushi itself was mediocre, 2.5 stars I'd say. The pros were the fish itself was fresh. The rolls we ordered (volcano and baked salmon) were drowned in sauce, and the sauce seemed to give most of the flavor. I did enjoy the miso soup.
